    Cons -

    • Old and tired decor, was so loud in the room we could not sleep
    • Originally booked SCARISBRICK HOTEL, got an email to say it was closed and we been moved ro PRINCE OF WALES HOTEL, fair enough . Got to PRINCE OF WALES HOTEL , went to check in only to be told we been moved to CLIFTON HOTEL. Went to CLIFTON HOTEL they gave us a double room when I booked a family room ,it was a lovely room the double,.but no good with just 1 bed so they moved us to what felt.like the back of the hotel to a room with 2 beds but the heating wasn't working . Asked about it and was told it comes on at 8pm and goes off at 4am, in the.middle of November.?? So not impressed.with BRITANIA HOTELS AT ALL. This was.my birthday treat seeing a show and staying over. Needless to say I was very disappointed and nit happy with the : 3 hotel" situation won't be booking with this chain again . Sorry rant over.
    • Booked a standard room .. and ok I expected it to be basic .. but a 6 ft wide bed in a small room ? Leaving no room for a bed side table or even the use of electrical sockets on one side of the bed !! And then the bathroom !!! Well All I can say is .. I’ve had touring caravans with far more space .. if you sat on the loo your legs were literally crushed against the sink pedestal .. and that is for someone 5’4.. if you’re over 5’6 forget using the bathroom .. go use the public toilets !!!

Location, close to train station and ships, cafes, restaurants.

Piece of metal in a plug which was eye sight level of my young child. Note that the plug socket was switched on so this could have been potentially life threatening. Reported to the hotel. Dirty, stains on sofa, taps not cleaned properly, alot of hair hanging off the plug.

    Location. Size of room

Bed was uncomfortable and there was a music venue right underneath our window playing loud music until after 4 am. Could t sleep

This hotel was unsatisfactory due to not informing g us of the booking not being made and cancelled before our arrival and booking. Com taking money for the error.

    7LiamPosted on: 11-3-2025

Our stay was fine, the room was clean and had everything we needed for the night. You get what you pay for really, it's a cheap hotel but the room is clean and fine.

We waited 10 minutes at reception before anyone appeared and the room was incredibly noisy due to a rock club right outside the window until 4am, and then a drunk couple arguing in the corridor at 7am.

Clean comfortable room hotels location was great

Creaky noises from the floors in the corridors loud music to four o’clock in the morning resulting in a very poor sleep

Lovely and warm, comfortable beds, nice staff, good breakfast

    Lovely place

Squeaky floor couldnt walk anywhere in room without making uneccasary noise we left eearly

    2PaulPosted on: 10-19-2025

    Room was clean

The room we was put in overlooked the bars and night clubs so the noise of the music and the people fighting went on until the early hours of the morning so I got no sleep at all.very annoying.

    5O'neillPosted on: 10-16-2025

Room next to very loud nightclub

Curtains hanging off and tv in poor area to watch. I had to move tv physically nearer to watch .

    5ChaddertonPosted on: 10-16-2025

    Bed was comfortable

Room too small, view from window was bins rubbish and bird poo on window facing would have preferred a front room overlooking Lord Street

    7MaureenPosted on: 10-5-2025

It was comfy and everything we needed.Location superb..Breakfast good.

Hotel in need of a refurbishment.A good clean behind radiator in room 407 is needed.

    Location

Night club outside playing loud music till 4am..we won’t stop again

    5KellyPosted on: 10-2-2025

The location was great. Free parking - first come, first served. Don’t forget to leave your car registration with reception!

The allocated room had an awful smell and was very outdated. We swapped to a double from a family room due to the smell. Like urine or drains. Later, another member of staff provided us with a free breakfast voucher as we had downsized. The double was very basic, hadn’t been cleaned very well.

    6GillyPosted on: 10-2-2025

    the bathroom was new looking

the room decor was brown curtains and carpets which made it feel very dreary ..

    5LaurenPosted on: 9-29-2025

Room 128, family room, very loud in the early hours due to neighbouring nightclub. Beds extremely uncomfortable but the room was clean.

Comfortable beds would have made such a difference.

Nothing I felt sorry for the staff, the residents seem to be assuming seekers and it is filthy and incredibly noisy, we couldn’t sleep due to a disco next door till 4am
