    Pros +

    • Very close To near by attractions
    • Location as my family have always lived in St Helens .. bright my 3yr old granddaughter and she wanted to swim.!Monday morning before breakfast and the lovely man on the pool desk brought her water toys to play with!
    • Location was great being just outside the city centre. It was easy walking distance to the main shopping areas of town and to several restaurants. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Access to the health club at the hotel was a great bonus.

    Cons -

    • Had to move from our first roomAs the smell of smoke was awful - was told by reception it was a non smoking room was moved to another room
    • My key card didn’t work so had to come down over and over again but the helpful man on reception was so helpful … :)
    • No major complaints, although some parts of the room were a bit worn. The carpeting at the threshold of the entrance was rather worn and needs replaced. However, the overall room condition was OK and comfortable.

The free parking was a nice change.Close to town, walking distance.

The pool was full of kids in the morning, so I couldn’t use it.

Great location and plenty of free parking

Hotel wasn't busy very clean room and comfortable, great breakfast to get you on your way.

Lovely, clean, comfortable warm hotel.Only stayed the one night, but have stayed there twice before - and intend to return !

Only problem was the wash basin in the bathroom, had only one tap, with only cold water, so had to use the bath tap for warm water.

The location of the hotel. The cleanliness. The breakfast. Staff members were amazing. Bed comfy. Everything was great.

    Can't find fault with anything

The breakfast was fine although it was very busy on the Sunday morning and some food had run out. They managed to get some more after a wait.

We had difficulty getting the TV to work and we needed to get some staff to help. Unfortunately the picture continued to be very dark.

Close to town centre, free car parking, price was right for my budget.

    8PiusPosted on: 2-9-2026

    Basic.

Empty coffee machine. Ran out of fried eggs and mushrooms for breakfast

We were there for a social event. The meal was delicious, the staff were lovely and the bedroom was a great size. The safe and fridge were a great extra.

We found the room cold on arrival. We went out so it didn't matter so much. An extra pillow would have been helpful too.

Central, convenient location with plenty of parking. Parking was free, remember to put your car registration into the console by the entrance

Breakfast and staff serving. Very friendly.

Reception stsff pretty uninterested. Put me in a room with blo jex out windiws. TERRIBLE. Asked gor anither room...givenbfusabked room. Bed comfy but room allocation really poor. So much so may not use again.

I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the room it was spotless. Many years ago I cleaned in hotels so obviously I tend to check. I can honestly say it was the cleanest hotel room I have stayed in. Well done housekeeping Management and staff. Thank you

There was no one on reception when we arrived, although it was 5pm(maybe shift change) not a huge dislike

As a budget hotel the facilities, staff and food were excellent

Being picky but the sink and shower water fine spray delivered little water.

    7HoganPosted on: 1-30-2026

Good price for a small suite. Staff were very helpful.

Constant hum from the heating, presumably. I was at the end so may have been just that room. Common, though in some hotels.Very short staffed. 1 person at breakfast and they were dealing with a conference as well.Hottest the shower would go was just about warm enough but it needs to be hotter.

    8MarkPosted on: 1-29-2026

    Clean room

Breakfast price extortionate. Easier to go to McDonalds down the road.

    7StevenPosted on: 1-26-2026

    Nice

I booked a double room originally and then a mate phoned to say he wanted to go. I upgraded to a twin. The next morning he couldn’t go so I messaged the hotel to ask if I could revert back to the double. I didn’t get a reply. I phoned them directly and they said I could have the double but didn’t know about a refund for the difference. I arrived on Sat and they said I had to have a twin as no double available
