Pros +
- Breakfast was our only decent meal here.
- I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Haydock. The room was clean, the staff were polite, and the check-in process was smooth. The location is convenient and parking was straightforward.
- The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was brilliant.
Cons -
- The hotel restaurant is so short of staff they cannot run a decent menu, running a one page limited menu even without a chef they attempt to run service. No options for kids, steaks that have been microwaved and not seen a grill, overcooked and burned pizza was served to the kids, buffalo wings without the buffalo sauce, pasta served in tinned tomatoes, and items missing from our meals. Horrendous meal service. My 5 yo son refused to eat. Not charged for the meal, and many people were sending plates back. Am awaiting a refund for the booking. And surprise surprise no one has been in touch. Approach with caution. When you pay for a break this is not what you expect.
- I stayed at Holiday Inn Haydock during a work trip. The room itself was clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. However, the biggest issue was the internet connectivity. The hotel Wi-Fi network was unsecured, which is a serious concern for business travellers working on confidential or government-related projects. Secure and encrypted internet access is a basic requirement in 2026.Unfortunately, mobile signal in the area was also very weak, making it impossible to reliably use a mobile hotspot. Due to this, I was unable to carry out my work securely and had to arrange alternative accommodation in Manchester to continue working without risk. For a hotel that caters to business travellers, secure and stable internet infrastructure should be a priority.Until this is addressed, I would advise professionals who rely on secure remote access to plan accordingly.
- The swimming pool is roped off for families, families only get 1/4 strip of a thin lane so not much room at all to swim. Even if no one is doing lengths all the kids are kept in one lane. I think times should be posted so it’s either all family or all lengths as the pool is not big enough to segregate.

Good location the hotel is, all staff were help full. Over all hotel needs Good refurbishment. At the swimming pool the lady told us it will close at 7pm on Saturday evening, on the sign says close at 9pm.Staff communication wasn't at best.
Breakfast, cleaningnes. Cheap quality food been used at this place for breakfast.
Swimming pool and restaurant
Kids pull out bed
The staff are all hardworking, friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff ensured the breakfast items were replenished as soon as they were running low. The hotel was comfortable and clean would return and recommend to family.
If visiting you need a car to get around nothing within walking distance
Staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable
The breakfast was chaotic. The staff couldn’t keep on top of the food and kept running out of things and we had to wait ages for food replenishment. It was the same with the crockery.
The staff were fantastic, in particular Phil who worked in the fitness suite. He went above and beyond to help accommodate the extra needs we had.Pool, jacuzzi and steam/sauna were great.Comfy beds, plenty of space for cases etc.We didn't have breakfast but my son did have a room service pizza for supper and it was much better than I expected.
My only slight complaint was the cleanliness of the room.It wasn't horrendous but there was an obvious cup ring mark from a previous guest on the bedside table, drip marks on the sink unit in the bathroom, the main table was dusty as were the skirting boards.I'm being super picky just for honesty. I'd definitely book again and theres not many places I'd say that about.
The staff allAmazing especially Louise on reception and Trish is the restaurant .Breakfast amazing
Very poor temporary menu and food in the evening very poor . This needs to revert back to the actual menu .
Beds really comfy, lounge area nice, all the waiting staff and gym staff were brilliant, really positive and helpful.
Kitchen awful. Half the menu not available, overpriced, small portions. We had to wait 50 mins for a pizza the first night, and 50 mins for chicken curry the next night, which I had to send back as it had no chicken in it, none, just sauce and a bit of cauliflower. Breakfast wasn’t much better, things missing that are listed on the menu, having to wait for things to be cooked even though it was buffet style. The waiting staff were really good, trying to help, the problem was in the kitchen.
Helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Good free parking.
Rooms are a little tired but perfectly practical. Access to the hotel via the 'Haydock Island' (roundabout near junction 23 exit of M6) is badly signposted and difficult to navigate, especially at night/in the rain
Over all the hotel was good the rooms were clean and tidy the staff were great, nice bar area and breakfast was good
Ordered a double bedded room and ended up with twin beds and the pillows were not great but it didn't ruin anything
Location is a good
Dinner service has absolutely shocking and the quality of the food below average.
The location for Haydock Park and parking facilities are very handy. Breakfast and staff at breakfast where excellent
I think the amount you put the price up for race meets is to high for the standard of hotel, the service on food in the evening was poor due to lack of staff apparently and the room was not very clean plus the shower water wasn't very hot in the morning. A disappointing stay
Great location
Wee bit noisy with people after 12am drunk banging doors and shouting
The location was great if heading to Haydock Race Park, a short walk away
We had no hot water for the duration of our stay, 2 nights. Told them at reception and we were told maintenance will fix this. Was told it had been fixed and still no hot water. Very disappointed, couldn't use the shower. Also on the Saturday night there was a few people in the bar area, couldn't get a seat as people took up big tables or sofas in couples. Weren't allowed to drink our drinks in the restaurant so had to go back to the room.
We enjoyed using the gym , pool , room was clean and good for one night stay , breakfast is great plenty to choose from
Drinks at the bar very expensive
Great location for our racing trip. Good size room with very comfortable bed and good shower facilities.
Breakfast was average and poor value for money.
Friendly staff, good choice of breakfast, plenty of parking
around shower area needed a scrub, chipped paintwork and overall room needed a bit of a refurbishment but ok for the price
The pool and breakfast
We requested a cot and didn’t get one
