    Pros +

    • The stay was very pleasant and peaceful. The staff were kind and helpful, the room price was reasonable, and the breakfast offered a wide selection of food. The pool was nice, and the location is great, close to a beautiful beach access – perfect for walks.
    • Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately there were major issues elsewhere. See comments below.
    • I liked the location, views were great. The hotel is family orientated, there was a children's table for crafts. The hot tub is still under maintenance, so we thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Good choice of options for breakfast.

    Cons -

    • However, we did not get a room with a bathtub as requested, which would have made bathing our one-year-old easier. It was disappointing that the jacuzzi was under renovation and this was not mentioned in the listing. The room could use some renovation – the windows should be replaced and the bedside lamps were cracked and worn.
    • There was an event on with extremely loud music, we stayed on a Saturday. We were informed of this an hour before we arrived and were given a room which was supposed to be much quieter than the one originally assigned. I cannot imagine how bad it would have been in the original room as it felt like we were attending a disco. Incredibly loud music with bass beats until midnight. My kids, wife and I could not sleep. Entire next day ruined as we were like zombies. Staff apologised but no offer of compensation and we were advised to check with the hotel next time before booking. We will not be returning. Swimming pool was clean but cold. The hot tub/jacuzzi is not functional and is essentially a curtained off building site. No mention of this at booking or checkin. The hotel was clean but dated, and the mattresses were very uncomfortable and cheap. Just not good enough in 2026.
    • My only complaint is about the lack of room features like hooks for clothes at the entrance.

Clean and only 5 min walk to the sandy beach.

Nothing. Our room was quite small but it didn’t really bother us.

Great for families including young children. Well located out of town so quieter at night but easy reach by car, bus or a walk.

The hotel was lovely value for money. We arrived 40 mins before check in and our room was ready- with a free upgrade! The pool was a great addition and the location was superb- a short 15 min walk along the beach to the pier and town centre! Staff were absolutely incredible: bar staff, receptionists and housekeepers were extremely friendly, helpful and really made the difference.

Parking was slightly small and the water didn’t taste great but this was no bother as the staff at the bar always sorted us out!

The bedroom was clean and comfortable, the pool was quite nice and there was a gym and a games room with drawings for the kids as well.

The jacuzzi was not open as it was going through renovation

The jacuzzi was broken but it didn’t matter.

We found the staff most helpful. On the night they were not serving meals they produced lovely sandwiches served with salad and crisps. As the hotel is a little bit away from food outlets and shops it is great that the hotel serves good breakfasts, lunches and food in the evening.

Quiet location .Bar meals are very good with good value specials.Facilities at the Riviera are excellent- in addition to the pool and gym there is a table tennis table, pool table and other games. The bar area is very spacious.

The pool was on the cold side!

Lovely staff especially Adam in the restaurant. Great breakfast, nice clean room, comfortable bed. Nice and warm.. Near the seafront.Good swimming pool. I had booked a single room but was upgraded to a double for no extra cost which was lovely.

The Jazuzzi was closed which was disappointing. Afternoon tea was advertised but when I asked they said they weren't doing it. Changing area of pool needs smartening up and tlc.

Bar area is nice and has a good breakfast.

Hotel rooms and facilities are run down and worn out in many places. Decore in the rooms are dated.

Lovely hotel with exceptional staff. We were made to feel super welcome. Wonderful check in experience with a room upgrade. Super comfy beds and pillows. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast in the morning with a window table and white linen table cloths with fantastic food and service was also excellent. Such a lovely atmosphere created by the hotel staff who really care about their guests. Thank you so much for a memorable stay.

Cleanliness was excellent particularly the bathroom which is a must for me. Great breakfast and choice of. Nice atmoshere, great location for a walk into Bournemouth along the sea front.

This is a personal opinion but the bed was too soft, not much pocket density in the body of the mattress which meant i was potentially sliding off the bed - thus i was constantly adjusting myself into the middle of it to compensate.
