The beauty of the place can't beat it
Some staff was off the recpteption woman was had a room facing a staircase instread of the sea I was just unlucky I guess
Hotel was lovely, great location, just across the road from pavilion, so ideal. The staff was very helpful and polite.
Only problem was mirror light not working, bath water tap not hot.
Location and room size
A bit cold with no way to turn up the heating and we were awoken at 5am by the fire alarm in our room going of
When I arrived, the room I was given had just been cleaned and smelled of cleaning materials. I asked for another room and was up graded to a bigger room, excellent service. Everyone was very helpful and kind.
The facility in the room was okay, however the room could benefit with being update. Replacement furniture and bedding.
Room was hot with no way of cooling it down. AC is a requirement in modern hotels
The fact that I have been there 4 times says it all! Perfect stress buster, pool was lovely and warm, the staff were friendly. This time I went with two of my young adult children and they loved this charming historical gem. We got upgraded to rooms with a sea view, which was an added bonus!
My room was a bit too warm, it was freezing outside, so not really a complaint.
The location is great and the lounge area was very cosy
Our room was very tired and the bathroom tiles were all cracked. Needs a decent facelift!
Very good value for our large comfortable twin room. Buffet Meals included. Great location near the pier. Free entertainment. Well kept gardens. Large dining area with coast facing views.
Need to provide photo ID for a hotel check in when debit card is provided. Wristbands for meals felt like a holiday camp. Bedroom furniture shabby/ chipped. - a bit of varnish would improve appearance. Radiators went off at night so could not control room temp - thankfully it was warm enough.
Location and old world charm
Incredibly noisy due to no sound insulation
Using the exercise facilities daily
There was no full-length mirror in my room, so I went to the charity shops and purchased one, then it was perfect.
The location
The customer service at reception. The racist staff. The room. The absolutely vile staff I had to encounter.
Location, interior in the lounge was 10/10. Staff was 10/10 too.
Room too small, empty chocolate wraps behind both bedsides.nit very clean
Some of the decor a bit past it... bath enamel chipped, no phones in the room is inconvenient,
Size of the rooms and the bathrooms were clean.
We traveled as a family of 2 adults and a 6 mth old baby. Our 2 rooms were miles away from each other - which can't be helped I know, but both rooms could only be accessed via several flights of stairs in-between taking the lift. It was just impossible with the pram and our luggage to get to either room. One of our rooms was then moved after us trying to access either room with the pram and baby for an hour. Then my daughter and her baby were woken up at 4am by people shouting and arguing in their room and the corridor. I wouldn't say this is an ideal hotel for young families. Disappointed. We did mention this to the receptionist when we checked out. Who said we should've come downstairs and told them this was happening. What! At 4am with a baby. Walk into the confrontation in the hallway with a baby!! Don't think so. No understanding of access or safety with young kids. Absolutely terrible. Will not return.
Bar area a restaurant area were good
Property needed complete refurbishment very dated
excellent location near pier and seafront. friendly helpful staff. I had a great seaview room which was very clean and had all I needed.
shower in room could have been better as old and very basic. food choices in restaurant very limited. Lift to 3rd floor broke down and I told reception and luckily they told me of an alternative lift to use.
The location. Drinks were not expensive to drown your sorrows at being there.
8 m2 rooms for £195. Some without windows! And many with have terrible views.VERY uncomfortable beds and pillows. Barely slept.Very hot.No telephones - to avoid constant complaint calls to reception.Rooms a mile awayNo room service or cleaning till check out.Staff pleasant but so used to constant complaints their eyes have glazed over.MISLEADING SCORE FROM BOOKING.COM. READ THE TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS!In short. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
