Pros +
- Lovely staff, so friendly and helpful across the board. Breakfast buffet was amazing, great selection of food available to accommodate all tastes.Indoor pool very warm.Bedroom was very spacious.
- Some staff were absolutely brilliant others clearly didn't like their job!
- Without a doubt, this was the worst experience of customer service I have ever experienced.
Cons -
- Quite dated, the rooms could do with a coat of paint and new coffee tables. The bathroom was adequate but again very dated. Would be nice to have a few simple extras like a shower cap and selection of toiletries. Shampoo and body wash available, condition would also be appreciated.
- Cleaning is poor dirt under pull out sofas and mould on certain parts of the ceiling also the bath wasn't washed out from the last person to stay there !
- On arrival, we were advised that the suite we had booked was not available, allegedly due to a leak. we were told that we had been moved to their sister hotel, a short walk across the car park. The sister hotel was very obviously not fully open, the lights were off and a makeshift reception had been 'cobbled together' at what appeared to be a bar although the fridges were empty and it had enough dust on the surface to write in! The room offered as a comparable was a very tired looking double room and nothing like the room we had booked. We returned to the Carton and explained that we were not prepared to accept the alternative accommodation was in any way comparable to room what we had paid £178.00 for. In fact rooms were being offered on a booking site for £68.00. Instead of offering a discount equivalent to the rates shown we were offered free car parking as compensation! We requested a refund of the difference between the rate we had paid, and the rate being shown on the booking site for the alternative accommodation, to be told this was not possible without the authorisation of a manager, when we asked to speak with the manager, we were informed they were unavailable until after the weekend. Subsequently we decided not to stay and requested a full refund, only to be told there was no one available with the authority to agree to this and that we would have to wait until after the weekend to get this authorised. As yet, there has been no further contact from the hotel and no reund.

Fabulous position overlooking the cliff with fantastic views over the sea to the Isle of Wight to the east and glorious sands of Bournemouth westwards over to Sandbanks, Old Harry Rocks and further down the Dorset coast.
Furnishings a little tired.
Clean and comfortable hotel with plenty of seating areas to relax in whilst enjoying a meal and a drink.light and bright surroundings made for an enjoyable stay.
Nothing to dislike.
Nice sizable rooms
Parking a night mare due to pay machine not working had too pay by app staff have no details to contact parking provider other then what's app messaging.
The room we were given was a bit to far for my husband to walk to.The receptionist Sue I think her name was she didn’t hesitate to find us another room which was closer for him.Breakfast and evening meal was delicious waitress and and waiter were very polite.
Location and friendly helpful staff
Drinks and food quite expensive but then again I'm a northerner
We liked the upgrade they made for us to a sea view without extra payment. Beautiful view. Would like to say how lovely the young man was at Breakfast, he seemed to be working on his own but couldn't be more helpful if he tried.
PARKING COSTS! To park our car in attached car park at back of the hotel cost £35 for two nights. Needs to be free if your staying in a room at hotel. An unexpected cost as it was not made clear when booking a room.
Location.Breakfast 1st night
1st night room129 faced a brick wall.Having to pay £25 per night for dog.Having to pay £25 per day parking
The bar staff were nice and the room.was nice and big and good value for money
Service on reception, there was nobody about and took.a long time to be able to find someone to assist and the price for parking is absolutely ridiculous and beyond excessive
Friendly staff. Very clean. Delicious breakfast.
Room was too warm, but I turned the radiator down and opened the windows. The shower didn't work.
Friendly and helpful staff, location, facilities,
Parking
We stay here regularly. We always have a suite and they are lovely, very clean and it’s nice to have a lounge and separate bedroom, also a beautiful view.
The only thing I can fault at the Carlton is the price that’s charged for taking your dog. I appreciate the room has to have an extra clean, but I feel £25 per dog, per night is quite a lot.

Noice levels
Breakfast was okay.Location is good.
Not many choices of Breakfast.Experienced blackout.
unfortunately the hotel is looking quite tired, lots of work needs to be done. The location is great, room size great but tired. bathroom needs updating, bath tap literally fell off in my hand and all around the shower/bath needed attention. bland rooms, no extra touches. Pool area looks tired
location is great
Our room size as a family room
The receptionist when we arrived at 1pm not at all welcoming or helpful and the room was cold - none of the radiators worked and we had a baby and toddler with us
Was so delighted with my solo last minute Christmas booking - large sunny double sea view room, beautiful Xmas decorations, comfortable community areas, amazing choice of excellent food, smiling, attentive and efficient staff.
Location, pool, staff very friendly
Very old rooms
