    Pros +

    • Check in staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help my disabled sister feel comfortable - he even offered to change our rooms to the ground floor which was fantastic. Spacious bedrooms and plenty of car parking made it easy to navigate with a disable person who uses a portable mobility scooter.

    • Good facilities Good location Nice barNice Spa

    Cons -

    • Manager
    • Long waits for meal to arrive in the restaurant and the bar/serving staff weren't all as helpful as they could have been. The pool is much smaller than it looks in the photos and there are only a handful of beds around it which were always occupied so we didn't get to use it. There are steep stairs down to the spa area so some disabled people would be unable to access it which is a shame. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room and room service. We had paid £20 each for use of the spa and that didn't include use of a robe which I thought was cheeky (it was an extra £6 I think to hire a robe and slippers).
    • Unfortunately in our room we had two leaks in the ceilings from when it rained

Good facilities Good location Nice barNice Spa

Dirty wet towels were not changed, so I had to ask for fresh. Also had to ask for new shower gel as not replenish when emptied. Very small room without a fridge.

Lovely big room and with a bath.

We were told children could use the pool from 8_8. The next morning we went down for a swim at 9am we got the towels and card from reception and as we were just going to enter we were told they had a class on so could not go in reception said they were unaware of this. Reception should of known and said, so we had very upset 2 and 4 year olds. On the website it said children could eat free with adults half-term this was not the case.

    Swimming pool

The heating system, too hot and they couldn’t turn it off.

Lovely ambience and great spa Room clean and comfortable

Restaurant lacked ambience and was a bit like a canteen , bar was fine although I didn't like swimming pool viewable so a couple of trellis panels would be nice . I'm sure people in the pool don't want people in the bar looking at them , section it off .

The breakfast was good. There were gluten free offerings so that was pleasing as I don’t eat wheat. Nice coffee although it could have done with being a tad hotter. Staff were friendly pleasant and helpful.

The first room we were allocated was underwhelming. Eleanor was able to offer us a more acceptable room in keeping with the type of room we had booked and paid for. We stayed for 3 nights so we required a decent spacious room with a large tv. I was able to access Netflix as I was recovering from a medical procedure and needed to rest in comfort. I would have used the pool but due to the procedure I couldn’t risk getting an infection. The swimming pool looked very appealing though. The room was a little cool at times, I had a blanket with me so I managed to keep warm. Check out was casual I wasn’t asked “how was your stay?”.

Spa team were lovely and the spa itself was great as the spa manager took care of us all and the pool, lovely guy great interpersonal skillsFood was nice too.

The toilet didn't flush from we took the room. After informing reception manager who explained its a new toilet and to give it time to flush lolol In the end my partner had to open the covering and flush manually everytime. We stayed as they didn't have another room and my partner wanted the spa facilities and travelled fro france for valentines day. I wanter to book somewhere else and stayed because of the spa. No fridge in the room we had a deluxe double and assumed it had one like most modern hotels, It wasn't modern obviously.

    Location

Hotel was booked for a present or booking was done online was advised that cash payment would not be an issue on arrival guests were refused entry and furthermore were kicked out by very abusive staff

Lovely and helpful staff, spa (£15 extra)

Poor breakfast- inedible scrambled eggs, instant porridge pot,not many food choices, our family room had a view of air-conditioning units

I like the breakfast, spa & swimming pole facilities, however the extra fee asked for the spa was not fair in my opinion. Because, as the money payed for the room was a bit expensive ( when comparing the size and comfort), the amount should cover either the breakfast or the spa's fees as well at least.

The request for a bit amendment that I asked to make in the reception should be dealt appropriately I am afraid! I payed for two people breakfast, however I was alone and asked to the reception lady if they can add a dinner for one person instead of two on breakfast even if I could asked for some extra payment. However, she told me to speak with booking.com and I asked them via text and they respond me to request the amendment with the hotel.Again I came back to the reception and the same lady gave me the same answer. It was easy task to deal with but not handled properly.

Great location...close enough to walk places without being in tte middle of the noisy spots. Spa was relaxing and bar and dining good. Our room was clean and comfortable and walk in shower was great!!

The rooms are in need of a little update and renovation here and there but the other facilities and great value for money made these details insignificant.

First member of staff a lady, miserable, the young man I asked to come and see the room more helpfulThe swimming pool was horribly placed, like you are on show to everyone in the bar , HENSE WE DIDNT USE IT

old tired, ugly carpets I was moved from one room as it was dirtyI was supposed to be upgraded to deluxe, it was bigger thats all

Lovely renovated hotel close to beaches and town. Great staff and room was comfy. Excellent breakfast. Lots of parking. Good value too.

The restraint was very good. Pool was great

Beds were hard and you felt the springs

The dinner package included was excellent value for money this included 3 courses . Breakfast was excellent as well . Rooms were large and comfortable . Shower room was a good size . Staff were very helpful and friendly . Good location for the M1 bus into town .Lovely toiletries

Even though it was February the hotel was just too hot for me . This was with heating turned off in my room . Bar prices were very expensive . Some of the added extras didn't make sense . In dinner package say you didn't have a pudding you would still be charged if you just had a coffee .The lighting in the room was not adequate for my needs especially the desk light .

Hotel has a unique English charm about it! Having stayed in many glamorous five star hotels all over the world, I immensely enjoyed my weekend here, in spite of the place being a little tired and neglected in part. This was easy to ignore. The beds were extremely comfortable, facilities were good, staff incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate, and the breakfast was absolutely exceptional!A wonderful weekend.

It looks like the Spa is being updated in phases/pieces. Certain areas i.e. like the area around the water machine were absolutely filthy. There was also a lot of dust and grime around the lockers there.

Very calm and quiet location, very clean hotel, amazing bed and sufficient space to sit down in an armchair to have a cup of tea without feeling crowded. very good spa facilities ( I fell in love with the Jacuzzi) especially the aromatherapy room and relaxation room- really did help to ditch the stress. I recommend you go early for the spa room it gets a bit crowded after 10.30. Best of all was the incredibly pleasant staff,. What a nice bunch of people, always trying to help you! It's also very easy to get to the hotel via bus (get the M1 bus for £2.70 form the train station) and get off at St michael's roundabout. i have mobility issues and found the trip very easy.

cooked breakfast was plentiful but just average. as i went for a spa retreat i did not want to leave the building so happy to have had it. However if i go again i would just skip it and go for one of the local cafes (plenty within 5 minutes walk)The menu served throughout the day is reasonable and decent but its a shame that room service is not offered - it could be a little plus for those who like me prefer the quietness of the roomI cannot find anything else, everything else was perfect!
