About
Originally a 17th-century farmhouse, this hotel sits on the edge of the Leicestershire countryside in the historic village of Kirby Muxloe. Rooms retain period features and each includes a flat-screen TV. The Castle Hotel by Good Night Inns offers 19 beautifully decorated rooms with attached bathroom, all with a Freeview TV, tea/coffee and ironing facilities, and a hairdryer. The hotel includes a popular Chef and Brewer restaurant, with weekly specials created by the head chef. Food is accompanied by a carefully chosen but extensive wine list. One of Kirby Castle’s ancient towers was demolished in the 18th century, with some of the bricks then used in the repair of the Castle farmhouse, adding to the hotel’s character and historical charm. Guests at the Castle are just 5 minutes’ drive from junction 21A of the M1 motorway.

Pros +
- All staff were amazing serving and taking orders for breakfast , we were a large family group , celebrating my mums birthday , and they both help, explained , fetched coffee (I'm less mobile ) nothing was too much trouble ,
- Good condition, quiet, good food
- Quality of food overall was disappointing. Room was fine and staff were very frendly.
Cons -
- Veggie breakfast was a bit poor. Could have been more generous. For dinner, Mushroom and ale pie crust was difficult to cut into and needs improving and veg were grossly overcooked
- A lot of late night noise and door slamming from room nextdoor and from room above. No sound proofing ? Tired paintwork. Leathal shower tray.
- One of the girls behind the bar lacked customer friendliness.

Excellent service. Clean tidy room. Excellent shower. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Good pub beer and food
Good breakfast.

Nice, friendly manageress (very welcoming). Comfy bed. Clean room. Nice bar area and breakfast area. Great beer garden. Plenty of parking.
One of the girls behind the bar lacked customer friendliness.
Clean, pleasant staff.
Room was really small and bed was too short, I’m 6’ tall and feet were falling out of the bed. Room was also very hot.Stayed for 1 night and room was £100/nt. stayed in lansbury hotel in London for 2 nights, much bigger room , much bigger bed and aircon- £78/nt.
The location was peaceful an pleasant and the layout of the hotel and garden pub very relaxing. The bed was superb - I've never seen such a big bed. Very clean and tidy. The restaurant had great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The breakast was very good quality and generous. I highly recommend the hotel.
We have no criticisms.
Good breakfast made to your liking
Squeeky floorboards. Small beds
Room excellent, well kept, had everything we needed.
Bar closed at 10.55pm just as we arrived from the theatre, refused to serve us.
It was a very nice hotel, very friendly staff and confortable beds. Breakfast was included and made how you like it, and dinner in the restaurant was wonderful. Also a nice garden in the back to have a drink in the afternoon sun.
Nothing comes to mind. Good value for your money
Spotless, great staff and large and very comfortable bed
Shower didn’t drain very well in room 10
Easy to reach location in a quiet area. Really friendly staff and the rooms were excellent.
Pleasant staff comfortable room nice ambience about the place
From the moment I arrived everyone was super helpful, the room was great - just what I needed.
Only thing I would say would have been nice is if there was a box of tissues in the room.
The staff went the extra mile to help us & make sure we had a lovely stay. The location was amazing right in the middle of the countryside, within easy access to the castle & the moterway. We loved relaxing in the garden during the day & the bar in the evening. I also loved the toiletries & the tea & coffee facilities.
I found the shower a bit difficult to operate, However the shower was a very good one.
The staff were absolutely brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. Restaurant, bar and food were also excellent. Very comprehensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner Our room was a little tired with damage to the ceiling in the bathroom above the shower. Obviously leaked from the room upstairs and repair not to a good standard. The garden and grounds were also very good. I would definitely stay with them again.
From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us the whole stay. ,Paul, Rebecca, all the girls in the dining room, Sam on breakfast, all excellent. Food excellent and the rooms spot on. Set in lovely grounds. Highly recommended. Five star. From Avril
We stayed in room 20, beautiful room and size good, because of no double glazing we could hear things going on outside but honestly it wasn’t a problem, breakfast was one of the best I have had and Caroline is a lovely, polite, lady and she made all the difference, nothing was a bother.
Nothing really
Very conveniently located off the M1, but in a quiet village. A bonus to have rooms and pub (with good food, comfortable seating and massive beer garden) in the same place. Excellent breakfasts, everything spotlessly clean. View of Kirkby Muxloe castle from our room, very comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The only downside was the smallness of the room (only just enough room to get round the bed), but that didn’t spoil our stay.
