    • Good location. Quiet, clean room. Good food.
    • Love The Boot. Good food and rooms.

    Cons -

    • A little tricky to find, and parking is very limited
    • Room - especially the en suite - was very perfumed - had to open the window.
    • I don't like to be negative but on this occasion Room 10 had some kind of air freshener or something in there that I could not find that was sweet smelling but quite over powering which could do with sorting. Gave me a headache I think Sorry!

Nicely presented room, very friendly staff.

It was a little noisy, but that’s to be expected as you are above a bar/ restaurant.

Generally our stay was good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was good as was the selection of beers and lagers. Our room was fine and comfortable although the bathroom was small and the wash basin rather minute. The evening meals were very good and reasonably priced.

Breakfasts. One would normally expect a hotel breakfast to comprise a main course (Full English etc) a choice of cereals, fruit juices, toast with marmalade etc, tea or coffee.Regrettably, the breakfast fell well short of this although the full English offered seemed reasonable, no cereals were available, fruit juices were available but at extra cost, toast at extra cost with even the preserves an addition. We also paid extra for two cups of tea.My own breakfast of two free range eggs on toast (£9.99) ended up as eggs on barely toasted thick white soggy bread.

I recently stayed at the Boot Inn and while there were some disappointing aspects of my visit, there were also things I genuinely enjoyed. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was warm and welcoming. The food was tasty, and the location is lovely — peaceful and charming, with a lot of character. It’s clear that the place has potential and a lot of heart.

However, I was disappointed to discover after I left that I’d been overcharged for meals that weren’t mine. They were for someone else staying in Room 6, and although we often dined together, some of her meals and drinks were added to my room. This hasn’t been resolved, and I’d like to request a refund for the incorrect charges.Additionally, for the price the hotel charges, breakfast should really be included. It also would have been helpful to have a wardrobe or even some hangers in the room to hang up my clothes.Overall, it’s a charming place, but these issues unfortunately impacted my experience.

Did not have breakfast. the lunch I had was very good.Staff were very helpful.

I was in a room where I was woken up by the laundry man in the morning. I was charged twice and had to sort it out. Parking is not easy

Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Only stayed one night and the half board option was really good value for money. Lovely decor in the room.

Can see why parking could be an issue, but everything fine for us.

Breakfast was not included. As a solo traveler paying £90 a night you would expect breakfast to be included- very disappointing !

Beautiful room, lovely food. Very reasonably priced and friendly welcoming people.

Lovely staff, excellent evening meal. Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean room.

Breakfast wasn't included and itemised. Expensive orange juice which didn't taste like it had been freshly squeezed. For us the quality of the breakfast didn't match that of the evening meal.

Staff were friendly and polite, food excellent. Rooms in the outbuildings weren't as satisfactory.

On arrival, we were welcomed politely and shown to our room: The Riding Boot, which was extremely cold, and clearly not heated in anticipation of arrival. It took a good few hours to warm up using the air conditioning and portable radiators. After a long journey from the South-West, this was far from ideal.Later that evening, at approximately 11pm guests in the neighbouring room arrived, and we could hear everything, including their conversations, the toilet flushing and the TV. This would suggest the walls of the converted outbuildings are very thin and there is no sound proofing. At 6.30am the following morning, kitchen staff arrived moving barrels, opening the wooden gates of the carpark storage areas, and switched on the industrial extractor that vents towards the outbuilding bedrooms. This prevented us from having a slower, more peaceful start to our days on both Saturday and Sunday.Obviously, staff need to work, and those that you have are extremely hard working, polite and welcoming. I believe it would benefit your guests if you were to review the usage of the areas surrounding the outbuildings. We do feel we were fortunate that we did not visit in the summer months when customers will use the outdoor patio areas, which are adjacent to the rooms. We stayed 2 nights, took an evening meal on Saturday evening for 3 people and had 2 breakfasts. In total, we spent £450 across 1.5 days with you. We depart looking forward to a quiet, restful sleep tonight after a 5 hour return journey.

Very clean room.Pub has nice distinct areas for ‘just a drink’, a sociable meal (dogs allowed) in the bar and a quieter dining area at the far end.
