- I burnt my hand on due to a faulty tap and scalding water. I was given a complimentary breakfast which I accepted at the time but looking back that wasn't really acceptable

I burnt my hand on due to a faulty tap and scalding water. I was given a complimentary breakfast which I accepted at the time but looking back that wasn't really acceptable
Lovely characterful building, super friendly helpful staff, very well located on river, pretty 10 Min walk into town ( tho sadly flooded and impassable during our one night stay due to excessive rain).
Room 2 , directly above bar, could hear conversation and music until 11 pm ish, then again in the morning at 7:45 ish… not the Sunday morning sleep in we were hoping for.
Beautiful setting, Felt like you were in the countryside but short walk into town. Comfortable room, warm, big bed. Friendly staff and restaurant/pub onsite. Lovely water mill in restaurant.
That there were two menus (three if include pizza one) was not obvious at first.
It was lovely location. Was quiet an the staff were lovely
The food wasnt worth the money it was covered in salt the chips were supposed to of been skin on fries they were just normal fries. And they were absolutely caked in salt so was the burger an coleslaw. They fish in batter was just all batter hardly any fish.. Won't eat in there again nearly £40 quid for two meals ain't worth it at all..
The staff, the food, the room
Lovely location. Friendly team. Cozy, warm and comfortable room. A friendly quaint bar
Only downside was not being able to get food as arrived at 8:45pm
Fantastic staff and very friendly, was made to feel at home from start to finish, food was amazing and the location of the the hotel with the views made it a perfect place for a break away.
Everything about this place is perfect. Beautiful location, wonderful and friendly staff, the room is designed perfectly and was spotless (we have high standards and it was spot on). Attention to detail from the staff is second to none. It really was dog friendly (they’re new best friends)… it just felt like a safe space, and a lovely little getaway. We will undoubtedly be back - what a beautiful little gem. Thank you!
Nothing - everything about it was perfect.
A historic property within a short walk to Salisbury across water meadows.Staff very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly.
Food and drinks fairly expensive. Every item for breakfast incurred an additional charge but nevertheless was good quality
Stressful
We got woken up on the Sunday morning at 7am by staff playing their music in the pub below our room . My husband had to go down in his pjs at 7:30 to ask them to be quiet .. not a relaxing stay we went away for
It's a very querky hotel transformed from an old mill, but with loads of charm. They are very pet friendly and the town center can be reached through a nice walkway away from the main road.
There isn't a lift and the staircase is quite narrow, so may be a problem if travelling with large suitcases. Otherwise it adds to the charm.
pub pie chips and gravy excellent.
breakfast is from 09:00 - too late
Friendly staff. Nice food in the pub (overpriced). It's a very pretty location.
Our room was exceptionally noisy. We could literally hear whole conversations word for word. The walls are like paper. We were charged an additional fee of £15 for our dog which wasn't communicated before we arrived. It's overpriced for what you get. The room is tired and there were cobwebs.
Excellent location, beautiful setting & property, very comfy bed
Remember its above a pub so will be noisy until it closes! You can hear people very clearly through the floor / walls but we knew it was a pub hence high rating and no problems was a lovely stay! :)
Very warm welcoming staff the room was well equipped and clean great coffee machine we had a room at the front with a great view bed was really comfortable
Lack of parking
Location was excellent, a short walk to the city centre and beautiful spot.
Our room was very warm, but fans had been provided.
The location of the Old Mill is superb within a gentle 15 minute stroll into Salisbury taking in the river and architecture on the way. The staff are polite, helpful and really funny, making us all laugh even though we were nursing hangovers at breakfast! The room was a good size and really nicely appointed with a large bathroom and really good shower. There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk available rather than the usual 2 teabags and a couple of milk sachets. We will definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor space the hotel/pub provides. Salisbury is really worth a visit as it is a beautiful city with so much to see and do and The Old Mill hotel is the perfect place to stay.
A mirror by a socket to dry your hair would be good.
Location very good - easy walk into city centre
Long wait to get checked in - bar staff all busy. No breakfast available on Christmas Day but we were phone two days before and informed TV didn’t work but staff tried to fix it (failed) Early check in - 2:15pm - would cost £15 - we declined but no facility to leave cases anywhere until 3pm Nice location but rather overpriced as rooms clean but need upgrading - eg no double glazing - windows draughty
