    Pros +

    • It was close to better places.
    • The twin room was very spacey and comfy
    • Spotlessly clean, everything you could want, great location. Check in lady was very helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

    Cons -

    • The worst system of customer service I have ever experienced. I did not meet a single person staff or guest diring my stay. I will never return.
    • The beds where very comfortable allowing a very good sleep
    • What an unhappy experience! From trying to get our keys to get in, to people banging on the door at 3.30 am, to not getting our pre paid breakfast, it was not a pleasant stay. The outside of the buildings are untidy and scruffy. Inside the separate accommodation building, our room was resonably good, clean and warm, but dated. The bathroom was clean but the extractor fan wasn't working properly and left it musty. The  sink tap top fell off straight away though the shower was good.

Worst bed I’ve ever slept in in my life. Mattress was extremely poor and wasn’t able to fall asleep and stay asleep on it.Out of date milk was also provided

    Needs a new mattress

    Location

No breakfast available, this wasn't stated in the booking. Smell of weed as we entered the annex and a boarded up window.

    6NeilPosted on: 3-6-2025

The location was perfect and we were able to park the car for free. The room was warm and clean with tea and coffee facilities. Check in was via telephone and the lady we spoke to was very polite - we were given a bigger room as someone had been smoking in the one we had booked.

Each time we entered the building there was a strong smell of cannabis being smoked in one of the ground floor rooms - luckily we were on the second floor. We were unable to contact anyone on checkout for instructions on where to leave the keys.

2nd time here, a better room this time, was spacious and comfy and close to the shops. Great place to stay ?

Price! £66 = £33 each. But no breakfast. Good location but noisy at night - trucks till about 2am then from 6am.Room a good size, warm, plenty of hot water, adequate brewing up supplies. Extra pillows available. Staff available via phone - did answer and sort out queries.

Appeared to be only person staying. The pub part was shut and l checked in via a phone call and a key box. Felt a bit vulnerable.Twin room but 1 bed so saggy was unusable ( l was on my own)Noisy at night, A6- traffic till about 2am, then started again at 6am. Doubled glazed but still noise.

    The morning when I left

Poor service not very professional received a parking fine for my stay and have not been able to speak to anyone about it.. room was very dated broken ties in the bathroom and heating was very poor so room was cold.

    3LangstaffPosted on: 12-17-2024

Central Carnforth location. Tea and coffee, also had oat milk. Clean room and bathroom.

Getting in using a phone call and keysafe was a pain. The room was absolutely freezing, with no heating on in December. It took 4 hours to warm up, so I slept in my clothes, as I was cold. The mattress was cheap soft quality. Bathroom outdated. I had to leave at 7.30am, and breakfast was 8-10am so couldn't have breakfast. I was expecting a full cooked breakfast but it was only continental, and the lack of gluten free bread would have been a problem for me. It wasnt made clear when booking what the breakfast consisted of. I'm sure there are many warm, cosy, friendly hotels nearby that would be better than this.

The room was clean and comfortable enough and a good size.

We arrived in Carnforth to find the Lodge and Brasserie closed, there were numbers to ring to gain access but all our calls went to voicemail mail. It took us nearly an hour to talk to someone, waiting in a dark, empty car park. I was under the impression the room came with an inclusive continental breakfast but was told that we had the room at a discounted rate and breakfast was not included. We were the only guests in an annexe building with a boarded up window and another broken window that was permanently open, looking like it had been forced open at some point. We had a first floor room but there was only emergency lighting on the stair well which was a concern as I have mobility difficulties. The room itself was very cold on arrival as all the radiators were off, it did warm up eventually. Not all the lights worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough. Had I been aware that the County Lodge and Brasserie was closed, I certainly wouldn’t have booked to stay there. Had I been on my own I would have felt very vulnerable and unsafe. I feel that the property was misrepresented by booking.com.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in

No receptionNo restaurantJust a message on the front doorWith a key lockIt appeared to be closed

    2HelenPosted on: 11-25-2024

Situation, right in the middle of the town

Main building locked, front doors held two key locks. Had to ring a number to get access to lodge key and make sure they had your vehicle reg number otherwise you would be charged for parking. Stairs up to the rooms (lodges) landing wi Dow broke and couldn’t be shut. Bed room bathroom cold tap was broken, bed mattress very old, soft, uncomfy. Pillows too soft. Room very tired. Shower was not much more than a trickle of water coming through. No heating on in room, was told when I spoke to the lady who gave you combination to key lock for the room, I needed to turn radiators on when I got to the room!

    8JeanPosted on: 11-12-2024

Didn't have breakfast. Location good for us .

Check in being remote as pensioners we found it a bit difficult. We are hard of hearing and having to ring up for instructions near a busy road junction with all the noise was difficult. It wasn't like that last time we stayed .

    8BeckyPosted on: 11-12-2024

room had everything we needed WiFi was easy to access good selection at breakfast easy to find. could be a really nice place with some time and effort spent.

the doors were a bit tricky to lock and unlock. bathrooms need a bit of an update and some tlc. The bathroom had tiles missing and some were cracked.,also the door to the bathroom looked like someone had punched it. carpet needs some tlc too. window in the entrance corridor had been smashed.

Clean, Tidy, Good for 1 night stay. Good choice at breakfast.

Does need updating but was clean

    4StephenPosted on: 11-11-2024

    Not alot

Breakfast was poor, don't like continental breakfast, coffee was warm, when I arrived the hotel was shut had to ring a number to get my key out of a box which was on the doors to the hotel, I'm afraid it has gone down hill, stopped a few times here but I won't be back again
