    • the common areas were very authentic, interesting. The food, breakfast was quite good, also dinner. It was also really clean, which is why i gave a better score.
    • It was wonderful to have breakfast at the property, which was also delicious and a great variety! I loved having the restaurant and pub available on-site as well. The location is great since it is off the main street of the town but still in walking distance. And the entire place is full of a very unique charm. I'm absolutely going to be back!
    • Exceptional place. Feels like home, great food, vast breakfast food options, super clean, incredibly friendly staff.Rooms have regulated temperature which is great! Don’t even get me started on the luxury bathroom <3 if I ever come back to Svalbard, I’ll be only staying at Mary-Ann’s Polarrigg.I only wish your bathroom/room mirrors were a little lower. I’m short and I couldn’t see myself :)

    Cons -

    • The room was maybe the worst i?ve stayed in for the expense. about -- $ a night for a trailer feeling with worst bathroom ever. friends in other places paid less or same and had a much nicer place. The girl on reception was new, nonetheless incompetent.
    • If you are a light sleeper the single rooms are noisy when people are walking in the hallway. Reception has ear plugs for sale.
    • We thought the room was cozy but to some it might be a little cramped. And it was a tad inconvenient to go outside between buildings (put on shoes, remove, put on, remove...) Can't think of anything else!

Walking distance to town. Lovely breakfast and great common area.

The staff was very hospitable and helpful. The (free) breakfast was incredible, and the dinner was also very good although a tad pricy. Wonderful rec room and communal kitchen if you want to to make your own meals. Just really great decoration with character, not a boring typical hotel.

Beautiful and clean. Great location, especially to the Husky Cafe. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had with great options. Multiple bathrooms and one special one.

    Nothing at all

A warm hotel with good restaurant. Located a bit a side of town centre, but you can still walk 10 minutes to the city center. Which is good because it is away from the light pollution, so you can see the aurora clearer.

It was warm and cozy with all the plants and want lights

One member of the staff just scammed us charging us 2x for what it said it cost the laundry saying that need to do 2 laundries and the bag was less than 5kg of clothes. That little bag of the picture that didn’t even close to my knee they charge 2x the price 400nok to be precise

Location is central. The room, facilities and breakfast were nice, and entire interior was decorated nicely, One of the few places that also serves a seal steak, which was really good.

The hotel is close to the city center, so you can easily walk anywhere. The room was clean, comfortable and warm with hot running water throughout the day.The staff is friendly, knowlegdeable and eager to help. The breakfast is very good with multiple options for every taste. The restaurant is one of the best places I.ve ever eaten, high end with quality food and well made local dishes.

There was a harsh smell right in the lobby where you needed to take off your shoes.

The common rooms were exceptional. New comfy furniture in a nice room in the Living Room, bright cheery dining roon.

The outside was quirky at best, junky at worst. They want you to switch out of your shoes forslippersc

The location is perfect !The staff is incredibly nice and the whole establishment is an experience on its own! The beds are very comfortable and breakfast offers many options.I also booked a boat tour and taxi from the reception and all went smoothly. All in all what a wonderful place to stay !

What did we like ? EVERYthing ! Extremely friendly and helpful staff ... excellent breakfast buffet ... black-out shades ... incredibly comfortable beds and pillows ... very good and easy to use shower ... very reliable wi-fi ... large and very comfortable common area ... good priced drinks ... funky pioneer vibe that doesn't take itself too seriously (where else can you find a forest of dead Christmas trees ???)

The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The food was great. I liked my room and the shared bathrooms. There always was a bathroom available to use in my section and I didn’t hear much noise given my room was next to one of the shared bathrooms. I liked that the hallway lit up when you exited the room.

I used the bathroom near the reception area and it smelled rather mildewy. Fortunately, the bathrooms in the section that I stayed in smelled really clean and fragrant.

We loved this place! If you are thinking of booking do it! We stayed in a twin room and yes it is small but it is unique, clean, comfortable, great value, nice staff, easy to access town! Beautiful restaurant and nice breakfast included. Shared bathrooms always available and spacious. And nice lounge area to spread out. WiFi worked great.

Unique, artistic with a historic flair. The food - breakfast, lunch and dinner was outstanding!

My bed was a little too soft ( sorry I sound like goldilocks :)

Loved the breakfast and the lounge area were we could sit and play games. Very clean. Friendly staff.

The bed was not so comfortable

The location is good, and It was the first hotel drop-off from the airport shuttle.. This place is so cosy and quirky. I wouldn't normally want a shared bathroom, but this presented no problem as they were very clean, and there were no issues of waiting to use showers. Complimentary tea and coffee were provided throughout the day, and the breakfast was fantastic - so much choice! The one and only restaurant meal I had was very good. The staff are wonderful! I would highly recommend staying here for its uniqueness. Will definitely return, but during the winter months! The single room I had was basic, but it was warm, clean and comfortable.

Very nice and helpful staff. They help with everything, with a smile. Gave advice, booked excursions. The breakfast, buffet, was Super. The restaurant has good local dishes for dinner.
