Pros +
- Everything was perfect. Definitely will visit again. Room was super clean and cozy. Breakfast was truly excellent and staff was super friendly and ready to help.
- Polefaren stay
- Location was great.
Cons -
- It is a shoeless hotel, which i get given everyone comes in in snowboots. The give you nice wool slippers to put on when you come in but there is hardly a place to sit for taking on and off shoes .
- You currently can’t drink the water. They only provide booster for your arrival. They should provide daily.
- Reception is very compact and gets crowded when the airport bus drops off new arrivals. The problem is worsened by guests keeping their luggage with them in the queue rather than placing it aside, making entry through the space and from outdoors difficult, especially as boots must be removed on arrival, and restricting access to the luggage room. That room often fills up as many guests check out at midday but don’t leave until later in the day. With no staff managing the space, bags are stored haphazardly and inefficiently. Some signage and active staff direction would make a big difference.

Great location, spacious room, good breakfast, clean
Great central location. My room was in the building opposite reception on the second floor. There is a lift, but it’s not a standard one and initially didn’t seem available for guests, fortunately a staff member happened by and showed me how to use it, saving me from hauling multiple heavy bags up the stairs. Breakfast buffet is small but offers a decent selection.

We had a great spacious room very clean , quiet very comfortable. All the staff were very welcoming . Breakfast was good as well .
It was a really clean hotel. I'm not saying that because we take our shoes off outside. Everywhere was really clean. It was very comfortable.
It may be a tradition to take off your shoes outside, but I think it's uncomfortable. It is very disturbing to wear slippers that someone else has worn.
The hotel was great! It's in a great location at the top of the main street, so everything was very convenient. Our tour operators picked us up right at the corner near the hotel. The breakfast was very good. The rooms were very warm, so we were glad to be able to open the windows a little bit at night.
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were kind and helpful.
Convenient location. Clean room
The price in June (high season ) is expensive.
Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good standard fare. Room was good size. The staff sorted out a quiet work area with good WiFi for my work/business calls. Dinner at the restaurant was good for a night in... interesting local menu options.
My room was at the end of the hotel so the WiFi was spotty. The public area of the hotel is small and is more of a drop off/pick up spot than a lounge area. Some of the fixtures in the room need a little TLC.
Staff lovely really helpful. Good central location. Clean bed comfortable nice bathroom. Breakfast ok. Good blackout blinds for midnight sun !
Stayed in a double plus in main hotel. This type of room all ground floor. Rooms in the front of hotel did have noises from outside which could be disturbing late night and early morning .
Best restaurant in area. Our room 311 was amazing! Lots of closet space.
Good location and nice scenery
Some staff not so nice
The hotel is very comfortable, on the main street in Longyearbyen. The room is a good size, and I loved the heated floor in the bathroom.Restaurant serves fantastic food, with a view,, and breakfast is also very good and varied. Many thanks to the hotel staff who made my stay really nice, one can see they really like their job.
Beds on the softer side, but this is a personal preference.
Nice clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, good proximity to shops and activities.
Great location in the center of town, close to all amenities. Staff were all very friendly and the rooms very comfortable. Breakfast was good.
It was quite expensive compared to what we usually pay, but probably to be expected given the remote location.
Very well located at the end of the main street, good sized room with a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the lovely views from my window. The staff were friendly and helped if they couldAll day coffee was appreciated after being outside.
breakfast was average, most mornings the hot food was in fact barely warm, but the selection was good.I would have appreciated more information about the town other than just tours. One thing I found difficult ( I am a mature women) was the pickup point for tours was up a small but icy slope with no steps or handrail for assistance.
Hotel is wonderful & we had a great stay. The hotel is homely, warm, lovely room with comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, super location - would certainly stay again.
Scam contact before stay asking for payment details, phoned hotel to query and they confirmed it was a scam and not to press the link. Think the hotel / Booking.com should have sent a warning when it first came to their attention
breakfast is excellent. Room with drapery is dark to sleep. Good size room.Tea and coffee with snacks downstairs is always available.
you have to take shoes off to enter but there is only one stool available. Hard to put shoes on and off without sitting down. When more people arrived, don't know how to handle it. You can't enter premises with shoes. Difficult for seniors especially. Nowhere to sit- should provide a sofa or more chairs for people to take shoes off and open up more area for shoes on.
