    Pros +

    • The price and the rooms looked as though they had been recently remodeled. The hotel was within a 15 minute walk of two good restaurants.
    • Very well kept. Clean rooms. Quiet. Manager accommodated our change requests and went out of his way to assist us.
    • We loved our one-night stay at the Mein Palace Hotel! It's part of a conference center and is fairly handy to the airport (~15 minute drive). It was SUPER quiet (couldn't hear any planes at all) and SUPER clean. The gentleman at 'reception' was waiting for us to arrive and once he got us settled in, he left for the evening (around 6 pm). There is no staff on site which wasn't a problem for us. The wifi worked well, the beds were comfy, the towels were lovely, the shower was hot (and no leaks around the door some other places). If you're okay with an unstaffed place, I'd highly recommend Mein Palace. We'll definitely stay here again. Tip: we ate at Trattoria Pane & Vino - about a 3 minute drive away. Super italian spot.

    Cons -

    • This was a nightmare from the beginning and is definitely not a palace, although they try to make it look like one by offering slippers and having everything in marble. I was told there was a hotel shuttle for an extra charge. When I got to the Frankfurt airport I texted and called the property several times over a couple of hours asking them to send the shuttle. I got no response so ended up taking an Uber. I finally got there, but there's no hotel reception desk or lobby. Luckily I saw someone in a cafe in the building. He let me in and got me a key (although he and nobody else onsite spoke English). At first glance my room looked promising as it was new and a good size. But none of the lamps or TV worked and there were no coffee/tea facilities or iron. I texted the property to let them know and to ask for an iron. The iron was brought and the outlets fixed (a breaker?), but after ironing 1 shirt they went out again. I was told it was the iron (?) so they took it and I never saw one again, even after asking every day for 3 days! Even if there is only 1 iron, buy a new one if it's broken! That night I was woken by a fire alarm and had to get up and stand outside in the rain until the fire department came to turn it off. The next day someone came into my room while I was in the shower. In the evening I went to the cafe to get a beer, but was told that I couldn't get a drink (even though they had a full bar)! So every night I had to walk to a neighboring village to have a drink and dinner. During my stay there were other things, such as coming back to find my window open and room freezing cold, or having hotel staff trying to get into my room when I'm shaving to check my fire alarm! This hotel had one issue after the other and they need to focus on the necessities (iron, working plugs, operating cafe, shuttle, reception, etc.) rather than luxuries (slippers, wine fridge).
    • No-one around. Bar not open, kitchen not operating. No TV remote and no reply when I messaged to request one. Self check in access photos were in German and I don’t read German.
    • No left/ no breakfast / no reception .
