    Pros +

    • Ski in ski out and onsens
    • We booked the standard economic rooms because we figured that we won’t be spending a lot of time in the room anyway. But upon entering, the smell of the room is quite strong and the room is very dated. The wall paper is yellow and there was even a red (blood?) stain? At least being such a big chained hotel, it should focus on upkeeping the facility as a whole, and not just focus on the premium rooms.
    • Very conveniently located and it has all needed service for comfortable ski holidays- coin lockers onsen shuttle rental shops restaurants

    Cons -

    • No supermarket to get our own breakfast and fruits
    • The economic room is not maintained well at all. When I passed by the storage room where they kept all the towels (because the door was left opened), I could see that it’s messy and the bundled towels and bath mat were just placed directly on the floor, not even on a shelf or anything. The hygiene is concerning.
    • Hotel is a bit old , but prices is convenient for that

Ski-in a ski-out feature is great, facilities and restaurant in general are adequate.

In winter, there seems to be no air-con, and when the room is hot, windows are opened to get the fresh air in. Also, every morning from 3am to 6am, if your room is facing the ski field, you very likely can hear the sound from the machinery working on the snow.

Absolutely beautiful winter stay. Lots of eateries and shops. Lots of snow activities to enjoy as soon as you step out of the door. Ski/snow boarding lessons, rental gear, ski lifts, sledding, snow mobile rides. Free shuttle bus to and from train station was a plus. Everything was great, especially the staff.

    4SonglinPosted on: 12-31-2025

Room facilities very basic for the price. Seem hotel is focused on cutting cost without considering the price it charge. Room light is dim.Very crowded

Everything are expensive from food, ski rental, lessons, and ski pass.

Ski in / Ski out plus restaurants selection is great

The deco of the room is really dated especially the washroom. The window area was leaking and we need to use cloth to wipe it from time to time ?

The hotel was great with loads of different choices of food and activities that suited both me and my 10 year old son. The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable, I slept so well. We will definitely be returning.

It was a bit confusing getting to know where and what time to eat! The hotel is so big it took a couple of days to get to know what we wanted.

The facilities and the location right next to the Dragondola gondola (which was brilliant in fall). Also we played table tennis

The pillows were almost flat - not fluffy or comfortable at all. Also there are too few plug points to charge the multiple devices we all travel with nowadays. Also we got to the hotel at 740 pm and couldn’t get dinner at any of the restaurants

    6RobertPosted on: 9-27-2025

Great location on ski slopes. Nice, professional staff. Lobby is impressive and there are lots of restaurants and amenities.

Rooms look like they haven’t been updated since the 1980’s. Beds were very small and the rooms are cramped and run down.

Location ! Everything available inside the hotel, as well as lots of kids ski schools

The room style is very old school and small, the carpet is very dirty. Ventilation in the room is very bad, very obvious dusty visible at the ventilation, my husband and daughter got very bad runny nose and coughing with the bad room air.

    6CathyPosted on: 4-4-2025

Convenience to the mountain was great, and free shuttle bus was really easy from the Echigo Yuzawa train station. Although watch out if going later in the season as many parts of the hotel and mountain close before the season ends.

All the restaurants (except 1) and many activities were closed during our stay. This wasn't made very clear when making the reservation so make sure to read the small print / check before you book! Beds were also very uncomfortable!

    6TheaPosted on: 3-27-2025

The location is why you pick this. There isn’t anywhere else. But the hotel is far too big, which means it’s not really sky in sky out in practical terms, it took 2 hours from finishing skiing, to checking in, to putting my skis in the locker and I had to carry them for nearly 30 minutes so split it into 2. Also, we stayed in a block that was closing for the season but meant a lot of it was shut. And there was nowhere to get water unless you bought it from a machine or had it with dinner and the building is very worn and tired (as you can imagine with people wearing ski boots everywhere) and it felt basic for the price. They also limit a lot of services like the onsen and ski locker and even luggage storage so you don’t have access to these outside of check in and check out. The onsen was nice and it was warm however!

    7BrendaPosted on: 3-27-2025

Great ski in & out resort. The food options were awful though. We overlooked the ski slopes in building 4 and loved the view (our friends in building 2 didn’t have as nice a view but they did have a hammock). The place is run down and needs updating. The beds were so uncomfortable!

    10SuvichaPosted on: 3-24-2025

I like the room I got during the visit. It's a ski view. This is the second time that I have had this room type with a magnificent view. The hotel facilitiesTh are excellent and reasonably priced. I also like the Ski rental shop, laundry machine, onsen, and restaurant in the hotel area.

The operation hours of the services are limited, such as for rental ski shops or merchandise.

    6PeterPosted on: 3-21-2025

Great location for skiing/snowboarding with direct gondola access to Kagura. Many restaurant options in the hotel, but very few in the surrounding area.

The hotel is dated and needs to be renovated.

    Ski- in Ski-out

Very old compared to other prince hotels I’ve stayed in before. Onsen is not good.

    7TtsePosted on: 3-10-2025

Very convenient ski-in/ski-out resort. Equipment rentals and shops available at the lobby. Free lockers for hotel guests to store your ski equipment. The slopes are great. Good variety of food options.

The room and facilities are definitely aging. Room size is small with very little storage. Only two power sockets in the room and they are not at bedside.

    9JulianPosted on: 3-9-2025

Perfect ski in ski out location. You can literally view the slopes from your room and access it directly from your elevator.

The rooms could have a better soundproofing. We experienced some noisy neighbors and it was difficult to make them stop.

    9CarlottaPosted on: 3-6-2025

Godsend for families with kids. The hotel is directly on the spot, possibility to rent clothes, skis, onsen, free shuttle from echigo-yuzawa train station, many restaurants, the mountain view of wing 2 is amazing.Ski tracks are perfect for beginners and intermediates. Very good quality of snow and not crowded.

The breakfast is very expensive and isn't worth it and the general quality of the restaurants is average.
