Yuzawa Toei Hotel

Location is excellent!

Onsen was mediocre, pathway to outdoor bath was fine in the morning, but by nighttime covered in ice and slippery, treacherous. Only two luke warm baths, nothing special. Bathing in the falling snow experience was enchanting!Breakfast and dinner were both buffet style and though it had lots of variety, everything was average to below average quality for Japan(FAR better than anything similar in America, but disappointing by Japan's high standards)

The location is ideal. Close to train station and ski-in ski-out. Changing room and lockers available so we could ski before check-in time. Discount lift tickets available at front desk and ski rental available on property. Room is large and comfortable, but dated. Public bath was very nice and well maintained.

Facilities are dated to the point of feeling dingy. Dinner and breakfast are served in large, but windowless conference room area buffet style.

This hotel has an excellent location for ski-in and ski-out access, making it extremely convenient for getting on and off the slopes. Having a ski rental shop inside the hotel was a real plus, and the staff there were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was abundant and offered a wide variety of options, though the overall quality could be improved. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The shuttle service to the airport was especially valuable in a city with limited taxi availability, and it made our departure much easier.

On the downside, although the hotel is very spacious, it feels dated throughout. This is evident in the guest rooms, common areas, and even the bathrooms near the ski rental area. The only space that feels well maintained and visually appealing is the onsen. Accessing the slopes with ski gear is also more challenging than expected, as guests need to climb several flights of stairs while carrying equipment, elevators are often busy, and walking through the main hall in ski boots is not allowed (understandably, but inconvenient).Dinner was offered as a paid buffet and was quite expensive for the quality of food provided. Since dining options outside the hotel are difficult to access, guests are more or less limited to eating on-site. The hotel would benefit from offering additional dining options to better cater to different tastes and palates.

Rigid.Most of the staffs are actually good and friendly. However, one of the driver who run the hotel shuttle was not helpful. He didn’t care about the guess. On one occasion he didn’t want to help an elderly couple with luggage during a rainfall, so we had to help them. On another occasion, in the snow storm condition, I just wanted to join the shuttle bus for a few hundred meters from the hotel just until the main road, which will be passed by the bus on the way to the station (The driver was going to the station anyway, so it wouldn’t cost him another trip), but he refused.

Professional and courteous front desk reception. Dining staff also quick and friendly.

Room is old, plug is less, USB is none , but bed is comfylocation in high hill but could walk and lugguage , drive service in the the time schedule limit, please check first.

The place had a panoramic view of the snowy mountains and also a great place for families with small children who just wanted to play in the snow. I loved the outdoor onsen pool, and the communal bath was very clean. The location was convenient. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with a variety of dishes to choose from. I would definitely want to stay at this hotel again.

Didn’t offer us the rubbish bin plastic bags to change or clear our bin during our 3 nights stay.

Snow gear rental more expensive than if you go to the gondola station areaHotel Shuttle bus is only to and from echigo yuzawa station. Need to walk a bit to get to the free public shuttle bus stop (but can also snowboard down to the gondola station to get to the bus stop which was nice)

The front reception staff spoke good English and was very nice.

This was my second time staying, the first time was not great as they were doing construction work on our floor this time there was no buffet dinner, it was a set meal with not much meat. It was not worth the expensive price tag.

Great ski in ski out place. Right in the middle of town. It was snowing heavily with strong winds so the connections with Gala and Ishiuchi were closed, had to take the bus which was still ok. If those were open would have been perfect.Outdoor onsen was awesome.

The location is quite close to the station and the hotel provides a shuttle service on request. We were satisfied with the breakfast.

The location is great. The Onzen was also very nice. The lobby was renovated which gave a much better feel. The Japanese style rooms are overall quite nice although we had a larger room the previous year and did not realize that there were 2 different sizes as both said they fit 5 people.

Some of the personal was not friendly and abrupt which is not expected. The rooms were not done the first day and when I asked I was referred to a QR code document where this was explained. I think this should have been explained differently.In the past year there was some daily attention with some cookies put after the rooms were done. These kind of little attention do have an impact actually.

Breakfast was a nice buffet spread. Both Asian and continental food. We got a double room with added bed which was spacious.Also the onsen was exceptional - especially the outdoor one. We went very late at night so we were the only ones there. There is a man at one of the food joints beside the onsen - he really goes above and beyond to be of help. Really blessed to have met him.
