Cons -
- We liked all of it
- I was a little rushed in the morning as they were driving other guests to the station but didn't alert me and tell me I had to go with them.
- If you are not used to sleeping on tatami mats and floor bedding it can be a bit tough on your body but the Onsen makes up for it.

The room was lovely. Access to 2 onsen baths that are used privately. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and they catered to my vegetarian needs. The owner picked me up and drove me to the snow monkey park. The futon was comfortable. The accomodation was close to a convenience store and not too far from the snow monkeys. I actually walked back. The owners were very nice.

Everything was perfect. Starting from the warm hospitality from Mr.and Mrs. Kobayashi, the best hosts we have ever met. The place is very clean and very well taken care of. Great rooms with comfortable beds. The private onsen offer a great experience. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic and we would like to thank for the whole experience.
Food was great, the service was great, rooms were nice and warm and clean. Bathroom situation was not a struggle in the slightest
Private Onsen, the dinner and breakfast, size of the rooms, property owners pick us up and drop off at Yudanaka station and drop us off at Monkey Park entrance, the layout of the hotel was beautiful and the views.

Location, amazing owners, gorgeous onsen, spacious traditional rooms, spotless, dinner was absolutely delightful.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at Yudanaka Yasuragi while enjoying the hot springs, snowboarding and monkeys of nearby area. This is an authentic Japanese inn experience complete with a fantastic private onsen, a delicious kaiseki meal approachable for all palates, and unsurpassed hospitality. Great value.
Owners are wonderful and kind, clean, comfortable, onsen was so relaxing. Highly recommend
The food was amazing and artfully presented. The owner was kind enough to tell us that the monkeys had come down from the mountain and he drove us to the entrance of the park.
The onsen was beautiful, the whole place was sparkling clean, the woman who owns the place was absolutely amazing and adorable, a very sweet lady.
The inn was lovely with friendly hosts and delicious meals. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Big room, very kind owners, nice private onsen, amazing dinner.
Shared bathrooms
Nice with private onsen for couples. Kind and gracious host and excellent dinner!
We had a 10-course meal our first night. Our host treated us the way that you remember your grandma taking care of you. We had so much food! Prepared by the husband and wife. Breakfast was included and completely ample. Our rooms were classic Japanese ryokan style. We had twin futons on the floor and duvets. Large enough that there was room for a coffee table, arm chair, sofa and foot stool. The private toilet was immediately outside our room. The private onsen on the premises was great. We were able to bathe there each evening. We chose this location because it was not in Nagano proper and it was close to Obuse, where the Hokusai Museum is located (and to snow monkeys, of course). Parking was easy as we had a rental car and there is a 7-11 next door where we could get supplementals - including instant smoothies..
The location in Yamanochi is a bit out of the way. Yamanochi in the gateway town closest to the snow monkeys. We could still go for a nice walk in the evening in town after our dinner. Location is ideal if you have a vehicle, but we observed that the husband would pick clients up at the train station in town, about 1 km away. Don't let that be a reason to not visit here and have an authentic experience.
Wow! Everything was fantastic! We went to see the Snow Monkey Park and wanted to experience the Japanese Ryokans and Onsens; we chose this place according to other reviews and it was exactly what we wanted. We added the dinner option and the breakfast option. Everything was really good. Our hosts took us to the Monkey Park and we met at the train station at the time the (independent) bus dropped us off.
Everything was clean. The owners were super nice and friendly.
Very convenient parking. The dinner was amazing! The bath house is private so my spouse and I could go in together. The facilities were immaculate.
The building itself is a little dated. Though very well maintained. Don't let it deter you.
A great experience! Spotlessly clean. Wonderful host. Exceptional food - the care and time it must take to prepare the meals. The Onsen were private and a highlight. Our host even drove us up to the snow monkey park. If it’s a nice day I’d recommend walking h back down the hill through the Onsen town (there’s a suggested route on the map in reception) - stop off at the little temples and sights along the way. There’s not much to do in the town so perfect for a couple of days of forced relaxation!
One of the best places that we have been. The facilities are so nice and clean. And the host is so attentive to everything we needed. The onset that the back are actually private you can go in just by yourself or with your partner so it's so so beautiful and pleasant. And the most wonderful experience is the dinner which is served with about 10 different and special dishes, the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. we recommend it very much.
