    Pros +

    • Hotel is old and a bit shabby, but very clean. Staff goes out of their way to please.
    • The hot springs inside the hotel were extremely relaxing. I went maybe 5 times during my 2 day stay at the hotel. I stayed in the traditional tatami room with 3 others and was plenty of space for us.
    • very good service, great hot spring, great food

    Cons -

    • Food options are limited. Quality average.
    • I traveled to this hotel without a car, and do not recommend to stay without a vehicle. It is a long way from many nearby locations and the bus fares in rural places tend to add up. There are not many food places near either so please keep that in mind.
    • An old fasion hotelThe smell (not the solfer of the onsen ), kind off fish smell all day

Excellent place to stay. Magnificent onsen and ski slopes. This hotel is a perfect place for people who love skiing and look for open-air onsen. Buffet breakfast and dinner are great. You can eat crab as much as you can. Open-air bath is very beautiful. Ski-in ski-out hotel. Acess to the hotel is convenient via shuttle bus from Karuizawa station.

Absolutely amazing!!! Great onsen a lots of snow. The onsen is definitely worth going to. So many options in women’s and men’s and three more outside as mixed. No tatoos so that may be a problem for some.Food was incredible. Healthy and tasty choices. You definitely get your money’s worth. The shuttle bus is definitely a big plus as it makes it super easy to get to the hotel.

A bit run down, but that’s definitely not a problem. Mentioning it bcs the other reviews. But there is definitely nothing to worry about. Everything is clean and the bed is really comfy.

A breathtaking location nestled high in the mountains, blanketed in snow. A dreamy, onsen especially when you take a dip during daytime, you can take in all the beauty. Food is superb albeit no cheaper options available.

Extra fee to use the kids snow play area. I hope there was also a shuttle service to go to the onsen village. Also, it's an outdated hotel.

Location, ski slope and ski hire, onsen options, massage chairs and most of the staff were very friendly and kind

Limited inexpensive food options. TV options for teenagers non existant, please up grade.

Good location. However only one lift available at the moment

I could not access the public onsen due to a small tattoo on my arm. I know it is a traditional custom, however beiing denied access after a long trip and the illusion of having an onsen in a beautiful environment was quite disappointing. Please communicate that in advance not after booking

I would highly recommend staying at Manza Prince Hotel! The rooms and the onsen were just excellent with a wonderful view of the mountains and the stars at night! I would definitely go back if I get the chance to visit Japan again.

This is no critic, but I would have liked getting a photo from the outdoor onsen, but other clients privacy prevails and cameras are prohibited which is much understandable.

breakfast was good. Location is awesome,so relaxing and the view was great

the cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom

    6MichaelPosted on: 9-27-2024

It was great that the onsen was open 24hrs and the room was fairly large.

The restaurant was a little tricky to find and the quality of the food intermediate at best. The only dinner options were quite expensive. There is no shuttle into Kusatsu Onsen available and it is quite a long drive. The whole place seemed a little tired and just a little run down. As far as rotenburo (outdoor onsen) goes, it has a nice view but the privacy issues with the nearby mixed bath and the need to wear the correct towel into the bath just seemed awkward.

    7ThomasPosted on: 9-19-2024

Pretty basic hotel, very functional in terms of look and feel, but the onsen area is really nice.

Needs renovation, a clean layer of paint and some more affordable F&B options.

    9TomPosted on: 9-16-2024

The public onsen had a beautiful view, and the private ones were relaxing for 3000 yen for 45 min.

They have restaurant but they where fully booked, the buffet was 7000 yen per person . Possibly to buy instant Ramen at shop

    10SergeyPosted on: 8-1-2024

I arrived really late way past midnight, but the guy on the reception was still very welcoming and super polite despite obviously not sleeping waiting for me.The room was spacious and warm. The facilities — well maintained. The road to the place is an experience itself :)

    Onsen, the surrounding

Nothing around, we had do eat on the hotel, the dinner was not the best for the value

    7KalingPosted on: 5-14-2024

Staffs very helpful to get appointment at a hospital downhill after I fell down while walking near the hotel. Especially a lady staff who can speak English. She gave me toll gate vouchers for travelling down and up to hospital

Breakfast and dinner buffet menu lack of variety. Not worth for the price.

    10XiaoPosted on: 5-4-2024

Very beautiful view, very good hot springs and very good service.

    5FeliciaPosted on: 3-11-2024

The indoor and outdoor onsens, plus its a ski in ski out.

There were stains on the toilet seat cover as well as the sink when I checked in. Not many dining options as there was only one restaurant offering breakfast and buffet dinner.
