Pros +
- The room was comfortable. It was not very large but it had everything I needed, and the wide windowsill was very useful. I needed extra towels (there were 2 in the room already), they rented me two more but I didn't have to pay again when I asked to change the extra towels with clean ones the next day. So yes, they do charge for extras but a very reasonable amount. The location is super convenient and they have a nice, large common room.I was supposed to stay here for 6 nights, but on the 4th day, I decided to take a trip to Tartu and broke my foot there ??♀️ my suitcase was at the hostel in Tallinn (as I had planned to return in a few hours), so I contacted them immediately. This is the part where they were actually AMAZING:-I, at first, asked to be moved to a room on the ground floor & stay for one extra night. They responded promptly and said they could arrange it.-Then I found out that I would not be able to take a train to Tallinn and had to fly straight from Tartu, so I asked them to *pack my suitcase* and send it to me. They accepted that & sent it the next day (to a cargobus terminal that was right outside my hotel, and I could easily ask someone to get it for me)-I wrote several notes on how to pack the stuff (I have OCD...), but I'd prepared myself for any mess in the suitcase because it's definitely not their job to pack my suitcase *properly* for me. They packed everything exactly as I had asked them to, and they even packed the mini 2026-planner that they had in the room as a gift for guests.I'm so grateful for their help at such a hard time, and I definitely recommend staying here!
- The room was near the top floor and given that temperatures reached 31 degrees Celsius, it was obviously very warm. However, the windows were fully functional so ventilation was not a problem. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean. The en suite was both clean and functional. The kitchen area was fantastic with everything a person needed to cater for themselves. Clean cooking utensils and cutlery were in abundance and the coffee machine for 2 euros was a great bonus. fresh waffles every morning was also fantastic and the cool temperature of the basement location was so welcome to escape from the hot summer sun for a while. The location was perfect, literally just outside the gate of the old town and a few minutes walk away from all Tallinn has to offer. A modern petrol station is just 1 minute walk away with a good shop attached for conveniences. The staff were welcoming and helpful at Fat Margaret's. The atmosphere was totally relaxed and quiet. I would highly recommend and I will definitely return again.
- Great location, very friendly staff. The room was warm and cosy. I found all the facilities to be very clean. One of my favourite hostels I've stayed in!
Cons -
- The room was a bit cold, but on the second day I asked for a space heater. They gave me one (free of charge!) and told me I could keep it until check out, so that was also not a problem.
- There was nothing I didn't like. overall it was a great place to stay.
- In the outside door corridor during winter, the floor can get slippery and it's dangerous if someone opens the door from inside. Maybe providing anti slippery rubber in the stairs will solve it.

Second time staying, and I enjoy the hostel a lot. There are spacious lockers inside the rooms, the location is very connected to the city, it's clean, the kitchen is well equipped, and there are plenty of showers.

Good location, have sauna and cold plunge and pancake
Sauna was not hot enough it said free from 9-11 but its starting to be properly hot at almost 10 and the pancake batter is out before some guests could eat. But i cant complain much for 20 something eur. It was well worth it despite all of this
We chose it pretty randomly to stay a couple of nights in Tallinn before Xmas, but we liked it a lot. Small, good room (there is no elevator, but the higher floors were reported to be quieter, which was true); and an interesting view from a roof window. The building, especially the kitchen, is well equipped and well kept: two big fridges, a microwave, a toaster, and stoves. The sauna was also nice. And the location: the old town starts across the street, the sea is also close as well as a big supermarket. Good connections to the airport and bus station.
Not a 100%-clean-room, but it was good (maybe 95 ;)
its clean
its for backpacker folks without car, hostel provides you with the minimum they have to
Full kitchen, cleaned regularly. Big, clean and quiet. Very easy to get to the old quarter less than 5 minute walk.
Nothing comes to mind.
Just the location.
I do not understand how this hostel got 8.3 from the customers. The room we stayed in (117) was in the downstairs and it was almost impossible to sleep because it is in the common area. The room was in very poor condition; the toilet seat was broken. The wall tiles looked like they were about to fall off, and the room was dirty. The next day, we asked to change our room and were moved to another one. Although the new room was better than the previous one, we did not like the overall experience. Also, the blondie lady at the reception was very unfriendly. This is the first time I have ever given such a low rating to a hotel on Booking.
Big common room and kitchen, nice building and staircases, great location, great free waffles for breakfast.
Location is super convenient, you can reach everything in 5-10 minutes: the port, the old town, our Keskus, supermarket, whatever. I adore the bed mattress!! I didn’t have this good rest for a while! May I ask where I can get this mattress? :) I want to have same at home ☺️ Please! Please, please, please! ☺️
It was a little bit noisy, because it’s obviously an old building with thin inner walls, and there happened to be some teenagers that enjoyed running across the corridor… on the good note, they didn’t do it at night, so, no offense. And same, as it’s an old building you don’t have an elevator, so travel light, if you want to stay here! But I doubt you can do anything about this, other than that it’s really one of my most favourite hostels in the whole world!
Clean! Bed was nice
They dont give towels and slippers etc. Central heating is not working properly
Great location, at the edge of old town and close tp some fun neighborhoods. Very well organized.
This is a very big place. Not a lot of social interaction.
The location. Good access to the old town and walking distance from the ferry port and bus stop. Better to use the shower on first floor.
The litter should be collected every day. There were a pair of sandals and socks left from the former passenger. Stairs could be a little trouble but this will happen to your journey along the baltic countries so just be ready.
Haven't used most of the facilities, but the bed in the dorm and bathrooms were fine.Late check-in possible.
Large common area. They even have a ping pong table. They off free sauna but I didn’t have time to try it.
Exceptionally good value for money. Complimentary use of the cold plunge and sauna in the morning time. While I didn't avail them, there were waffles for breakfast in the morning too. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms well equipped. Can barely fault this hostel, I would strongly recommend.
WiFi very patchy, even when the signal was strong.
We had a fantastic stay! The property is in an incredible location, and we absolutely loved the charm and character of the old house. The highlight for us was definitely the sauna and pool to start your morning!! As a bonus, they offered free pancake mix at breakfast so you could cook your own, which added a fun and cozy touch to the experience.

Clean rooms, cheap parking, so close to old town! They have complimentary sauna/pool plunge in the morning & I loved this! Really made my day great. The free breakfast is a Belgian waffle , quite large and with toppings. I loved that too
this hostel is lovely renovated inside, a comfy bed, locker space, good internet -- a magnificient kitchen that really promotes community & that has a 2-euro coffee machine! on the edge of the old historical town, about 12 mins by foot from the ferry (where I came from) and about 13-min walk to the train station. You can find more showers & toilets in the basement (otherwise it seemed strange that there weren't many toilets on the first & second floor)
there's a lot of traffic in the area, so if you had a front bedroom it would be loud. curtains would help to keep the light lower at night. the fridges downstairs were VERY VERY VERY full & I had the feeling they hadn't been emptied in a while, there was ZERO space to put anything there.
