    Pros +

    • Excellent breakfast.
    • I enjoyed my 3 nights in the Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel. The hotel rooms seem a bit worn out and old and so did the hallways but was still pleasant. The room was decent, a little bigger then usual Japanese hotel rooms - had TV, large bed (comfy) table, chair, small fridge and old air-con (not sure if it worked). The location was a little bit off for me - close to the train station but seemed very far to the center of town and to some of the major "tourists" attractions. The staff was helpful and spoke English and I could store my luggage at the front desk.
    • A bit of a dated business hotel, but a very comfortable and clean one. It was decently spacious and all around a pleasant stay. I had little to no issues with the hotel, though it can be a bit of a walk to the tourist areas and shopping areas. There are some good restaurants nearby.

    Cons -

    • No onsen. It seemed to be a smoking room.
    • No issues.
    • 1) For early checkout, there was no either sandwich or small morning breakfast takeaway set provided. 2) Bathroom was quite smelly. Maybe at the bathtub's curtain.

The breakfast on 10/F offers a panoramic view of Aitsuwakamatsu and includes options using local produce as ingredients.

The hotel has a Showa era vibe. Needs update to include usb slots

About 5 minutes walking from the station, close to a bus stop, convenience store and restaurants a few minutes walking. Staff was helpful. Confortable room with nice views.

    8AlisterPosted on: 3-15-2025

Comfortable but a bit tired business hotel.Stayed here while skiing on local mountains.Staff were excellent.

    6YasminPosted on: 3-10-2025

Staff were very kind and welcoming. Facilites are old but they work just fine. Also, had dinner served by the hotel and it was absolutely delicious !

Room was not thoroughly cleaned, so there was a lot of dust under the table and bed. One of the glasses in the room was also slightly dirty. Also, the bathroom has poor ventilation and I had to leave the door open so it wouldn't smell terrible inside.

Not far from Aizu Wakamatsu Train Station. We are in love with their very good breakfast in buffet style.

Room is quite out date but clean though.Faucet not good but water pressure is fairly good.

Even the hotel is old but provides the excellent maintain, nice staff.

    10RuthPosted on: 2-24-2025

Very clean, lovely room, great foyer and warm. The staff are wonderful and the location is very convenient for transport links. Really, really comfortable and very clean, nice deep bathtub and very warm room despite the raging snow outside when I was there.

It isn't in the prettiest location and not a lot of restaurants or attractions nearby so you'll have to use theirs or go to 7-11, however, you cannot beat it for access to the train and bus stations so that all depends on what you want. You can get everywhere easily enough from there.

It’s about 3-4 stars hotel. It’s value stay. It looks old but still looks grand, don’t be frightened by the photos they published. I thought it is old hotel and 2 stars hotel , but It’s out of expectation!

Near station so I can catch the 6:08am Tadami train. However, during my stay the train line was suspended due to heavy snowfalls. Sad ?

Hotel is old need to tear down and rebuild.

    7Sara-mattioliPosted on: 2-3-2025

The location was convenient because it is near the station, but the actual area with more restaurants is a 15 minute walk from there. The hotel was really nice and the room was clean, with all the amenities!I liked the window shutter made to keep the cold out

I'm not a fan of central heating, but at least I could open the window. The fridge was really noisy at night, but not all the time... just started buzzing for 30 minutes

I love the hospitality and warm welcome of the staff. They accommodated us well, although we arrived late, and assisted us with all our concerns since it was our first time in Japan. We will stay there again if we can travel back to Aizuwakamatsu.

    None so far.

    10AMORNRATPosted on: 1-25-2025

Very valuable and reasonable price. It’s 5min-walk to Aizuwakamutsu station. All necessary things are provided in a room although its size’s not large. Breakfast is superb!

    6YunjiaPosted on: 1-22-2025

Good location, near the train station. Smooth checkin and checkout.

Very crowed parking lot, the room is a bit old and the air-conditioner is noisy.

    10JenniferPosted on: 1-15-2025

Convenient and close to the station.

The rooms are a bit small to share.

    8GofunPosted on: 1-5-2025

Free drinks with any order during the evening, even ice cream. The breakfast was very good and fresh. The restaurant is on the 10th floor with a great view and perfect service.
