- really nothing...
- Amazing location
- Everything about the hotel is top notch. The location is a mere 20m from the bus station which is critical for those relying on public transportation. Since the village is small, the hotel is no more than 200m from the main square which overlooks the entire valley where Castelmezzano is nestled. The interior of the reception area, the rest lounge and the restaurant as well as the room all testifies to the impeccable taste of the hotel owner Luigi. There is a lot of vintage furniture and decor that epitomizes contemporary Italian design at its finest while still honoring traditional craftsmanship that’s hard to come by. The room itself is also very comfortable with customized classic furniture. The balcony provides an excellent view of the village. Breakfast was very high quality and abundant in variety. The hotel staff are welcoming and hospitable while the owner himself clearly takes a lot of pride in this family-run hotel, and rightfully so, as he walked us through the story behind a few pieces of the interior.
Cons -
- the website photos are very deceiving. our issues began when the hotel owner Luigi called us to inform us the hotel rooms were too small to accomodate our small family of 2 adults and 2 small children, although we've traveled this way many times before. he would not allow us to cancel so forced us to book another room and divide our family, not even putting our rooms side by side. the breakfast is 10 euro per person which is a huge rip off as it doesnt include much more than basic pastries and coffee. walk 10 meters up the street for a better coffee, pastry and experience. the hotel feels quiet, sterile and akward. we travel often and are quite reasonable but this experience felt odd and like a tourist trap... he should have allowed us to cancel our stay so we could have booked ourselves in somewhere else that would accomodate the size of our family and he could have avoided this poor review...
- Owner was overly involved in out check in. Escorting us even to our room and showing us the bathroom and such. He and his wife. The room was very small, but comfortable. Also no coffee or hot pot in the room and breakfast doesn’t start until 8 am. Not ideal for an early riser.
- An extra blanket may be helpful and there was not much room for our luggage.

Everything was wonderful- the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and efficient. The bathrooms were big and the shower had great pressure. The restaurant had a great spread for breakfast and our dinner was fantastic.
I have no complaints whatsoever.
Magical first time visit to my grandfather's birthplace on the Festival Weekend...met several distant relatives...a wonderful personal experience ?
Location, comfort, style. Castlemezzano is a gem of a town. Should not be missed on a trip to Southern Italy..if only for an overnight. And then stay at the Dolomiti. Perfect if you are driving. Parking nearby (important in this part of the country!). Everything about this hotel was delightful.
Nothing, everything was wonderful.
Location, clean and updated, staff were amazing and very accommodating.
Lovely spot in Castelmezzano. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The location is right at the entrance of the small town to make it easy to park and get bags. The hotel is newly renovated, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We had a lovely stay.
Sunday is fairly crowded, so if you're confused about parking, I recommend pulling to the side and running in to get clarification from the hotel.
Location. Modern
Elevator not working. No spa staff. Parking was a challenge
The hotel has a very nice design, with comfortable and spacious rooms. It is located just a few steps from the public parking where tourists have to park (the town is closed to general traffic).
Location, interior design, staff
Expensive for the category and the service that did not provide but advertised, like spa
It was an updated and nice facility. The staff is great. Signore Luigi is friendly and informative.
Highly recommend this property for the value and the clean, modern and new designed hotel. The included breakfast is lovely. Even offered made to order eggs. Staff is so pleasant and helpful! The view from our room was amazing. We had a balcony that allowed us to see the Dolomites and the stunning spring flowers not to mention watch the riders on the angel zipline. After dusk, we enjoyed the fireworks in the town up in the Dolomites. Really special!
Very nice room, and bed was comfortable (think if IKEA had a hotel). Restaurant was nice if you can get a reservation. Highly recommend break because there not much else available in the area and it included coffee. Directions to get there were confusing but Luigi was a huge help. Very close to the town and what it had to offer.
Location, location,; Luigi’s friendly & kind attentiveness and his entire staff were super! Great breakfast options. An elevator!!! First in our 3-week’s travel so far. For seniors, it was a God-send with so many stair steps everywhere along our trip!
N/A. Liked everything.
It's a yearly "pilgrimage," a driving holiday hopping from one Italian borgho to another . Castelmezzano was our first "stop over," and the hotel was the best in this little village . ?
From start to finish, this was a wonderful stay. Luigi (the owner) welcomed us right we arrived. He brought us up to the check-in and kindly reminded us of the nearby parking options, available spa services, and how if we needed any help or had any questions, he and Donna (the front desk manager) are always available. The restaurant food was excellent, and the chef accommodated our vegetarian diet for dinner. Wine selections were ample. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, which is very modern and comfortable although we barely spent any time in it since there is so much to enjoy in Castelmezzano and we were there during a two-day festival. The natural beauty; the culture; the historic sites (this village has an amazing story, dating back more than 1,000 years); and the gentle, soulful spirituality that invites you to connect keeps us coming back. Hopefully our next visit will be a little longer.
Breakfast was great - lots of choice Gorgeous views from the balcony Staff were really friendly and the manager/ owner greeted us and was lovely
A kettle and cups/glasses in the room so I could make a cup of tea/coffee and use the glass for water.
Great location, clean
Couldn’t buy a coffee in the morning? Had to get breakfast, or nothing?!
Our check-in was very confusing, as a reservation I had canceled for last month kept being brought up, but, once we got in our room, we relaxed a bit. The rooms are teeny, but totally renovated, so fine for a night or two. We were in #1, with spectacular views of the mountains and a nice little balcony. Dinner was excellent - beautiful menu - and our Scottish waitress could not have been better or nicer, especially since she was serving the whole room. Breakfast was small, but good - fresh cantaloupe, watermelon and mango were wonderful! You really shouldn't miss Castelmezzano and strolling the town, both day and night - it is truly spectacular!!
Small rooms, but they are well-designed.
