    Pros +

    • The host was incredibly kind, attentive, and quick to respond. The place was peaceful, cozy, and ideal for a truly restful night’s sleep, all at a very affordable price.
    • The people! Wow, so friendly, they really go out of their way to help you. Flexible too. Great food, also lactose free milk, non alcoholic beer if you liked and big gin tonics too;-) the building is old so thinner walls than at home and we had a BCN MAD football match so yes loud happy people but understandable. Liked the beds. We are a walking foodie friends group so really good for us
    • Super pet friendly! Excellent staff, very helpful and carrying

    Cons -

    • Maybe the noise some people said.
    • Bathroom gets wet when showering
    • The room didn't have air-conditioning, and having the window open was not really an option, as our bedroom was facing the street, where all the traffic, and the noisy bar around the corner was located. The temperature was so high, that sleeping wasn't even possible. The room had a ventilator, but this didn't helped. Maybe a portable air conditioning unit would have been a better option...

The room was big and very clean. The staff was incredible kind and friendly. We decided to stay at the hotel for dinner, and that was a very good decision. The food was amazing, highly recommended!

Amazing outside dining area with tropical plants and great atmosphere. Some quirky interior design touches too

It’s old and charming, with a very nice garden and tables for alfresco dining. Our room had a little balcony to the garden. Comfortable bed with soft beddings and extra blanket.

The vibes, so nice, cosy, lively, comfortable. Of course this was because of the wonderful staff!breakfast, diner and the pool, all was great

Great stay as usual, but we couldn't enjoy the restaurant as it was closed. This was not advised.

The restaurant was closed and not correctly highlighted on the property's profile

Comfortable and clean room. Charming interior terrace and great breakfast.

Slightly thin walls, but neighbors weren’t noisy.

    Very friendly staff

Impossible to sleep, noise from the kitchen (I guess the fridges) ALL NIGHT LONG.Room very run down. No TV in the room. Bathroom.... 100 year old is young. Shower with only scorching hot water with no pressure at all. Impossible to regulate it. Horrible.

the staff and terrace is very nice. the location at the end of town is also good. private parking on premises.

they need to install air conditioning because a fan during summer is not good enough anymore. the pool needs some updating and it was cold (despite it was summer) because it was all on shade.

    6JosePosted on: 8-13-2022

It is located in a very beautiful place. The staff is very nice and they try to do their best. The restaurant is good and the prices quite reasonable.

The bedroom was very disappointing. The size was correct but the only window opened to a light well without any view at all. This was not indicated at all in the description of the room when I booked. So, I expected a view either of the street or of the interior path.

I stayed here the night before my wedding with my family and best men. It is a quirky and beautiful venue with friendly staff and delicious pizza and other food. The service was high quality. The rooms don’t have air-con but they do provide you with a fan. I would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Air con in the rooms if possible

The Hostal is well located in a town in the Montseny area which is great for hiking, MTBing or road cycling. Staff was friendly.

Was there off-season. Hotel is fairly run down with very old equipment/rooms. On the weekend, the hotel was full. Absolutely no sound proofing. 3 cm gaps between door and frame. Had to stuff a blanket in there to prevent kitchen smoke coming up from the restuarant that was filling the room. They have stone oven pizza which might be nice (didn't try), but the massive kitchen smell in the room as not nice (also in the mornings). Since off-seaon, the hostal emptied 100% during the week. Didn't see anybody (nobody, not even hostal employees) for days except for the cat. Felt like movie "The shining" to walk empty corridors. At least, it was calm and there was no kitchen sink. During season, I would not recommend.

The patio is very nice for eating, drinking and chatting (see what I didn't like!) but please take some mosquito spray for arms and legs whilst sitting out there. My bedroom was perfectly adequate for a 2-night stay although being at the top of the first floor flight of stairs meant everyone passed my bedroom!! I thought the mattress was quite comfy!! Bathroom was fine although I had to hold the shower nozzle cos it wouldn't go in the holder. Toilet worked as it should do!! Toilet door didn't close properly - once I realised I could see people on the patio, so if I could see them........!!!! Clean towels and bed made for me!! Little bit of luxury!! They accept dogs in the hotel which is ALWAYS a BIG PLUS for someone who travels with my dog. Super off-road parking within the hotel grounds. Another great plus!!Food was very nice and reasonably-priced menu del dia!! Arbucies is not a very big town so it is ideally placed for the lovely riverside walks which are not far away. If you are more adventurous, there are lots of hills and mountains to walk/run/cycle up and down!!

The hotel is vintage, classic, quirky or just plain outdated!!! It's a 1950s hotel that hasn't really moved with the times. For example, there is no lift so I'm not sure how disabled people would manage getting to the rooms. Meant I had to lug all my tut up and down the stairs, plus dog!! (Yes, I am a lazy so and so!!)Don't know if there is a public disabled toilet but I needed to be Houdini to get in and out of the public loo downstairs!! Spent ages fumbling for the light switch - next day I realised the light was actually on, so dim was it!! The kitchen is based at the bottom of the stairs so all of the banging and clanking that goes on in a hotel kitchen can be heard up the stairs!! Certainly for me in Room 125!!!I did have a major problem getting to sleep on the first night because there were people chatting on the terrace until 6 IN THE MORNING!! I did complain at 2 in the morning and had hoped the situation would have been resolved. But it wasn't. I did complain to reception the next day and the matter was resolved TO MY COMPLETE SATISFACTION by the management of the hotel so THANK YOU FOR THAT. My second night's sleep was perfect in comparison to the first. However, it was a situation that should never have happened and certainly soured my visit as I was exhausted the following day and was not looking forward to going to bed the next night. But hey ho, I can look back and laugh at it now!!

The hotel and restaurant have a real charm to them. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is overall very relaxed. Behind the hotel is an outdoor area where you can have breakfast/lunch.dinner. Trees surround the outdoor area, so it is a pleasant place to sit regardless of the temperature.

Rooms did not have good sound isolation. On the first floor, we could hear the kitchen/restaurant sounds.

We were overall very pleased, I can surely recommend the restaurant, we ate there very well
