Pros +
- The location was excellent with nice views and the pillows and bed were very comfortable. We have stayed at about 8 different hotels this trip and this was by far the most comfortable bed.
- Absolutely stunning property! We stayed here while walking the Camino in December. Large rooms with fabulous bathrooms! The beds were so comfortable, we had a great nights sleep! We also had a late lunch, dinner and one of the best Camino breakfasts here! 10 out of 10 all around!
- Fantastic staff. Beautiful grounds and views across the river to Portugal. an easy walk and close to the bridge for a walk into Valenca. Right on the Camino Portuguese.
Cons -
- Restaurant opens at 2030 hours at night which is late for pilgrims walking the Camino. Unless you purchase the 15 euro breakfast, you can’t even buy a cup of coffee until 11am, which just seems crazy, additional pressure to pay the 15 euros each.
- Waitress in the restaurant spoke no English and after. 10 minutes of trying to order half orders as offered the order came as full. Enough for two. For a Parador this seems like a miss . Most of the time you not should expect that but it was kind of a nightmare. The meal cost twice as much. Otherwise excellent experience.
- The only drawback for Camino travelers was that the restaurant didn’t open until 8:30.

Breakfast buffet was very good, and bar and dining room at hotel. Wifi coverage was inconsistent in various hotel areas. Quiet grounds provide a place to rest. About a 15 minute walk from central historic area and catahedral. Staff friendly and helpful.
Beautiful place inside and out. Classic Parador quality..

The room has beautiful river views , the beds are comfortable for a good sleep after “Camino”. The staffs are very friendly.
We spent 14 days on the Portuguese Camino and this was our favorite accommodation. Our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic!
It was a beautiful property tastefully decorated with traditional Spanish design. Attention to detail in the rooms and a stunning view. We started our Camino here as the location was right on the trail.
The only drawback for Camino travelers was that the restaurant didn’t open until 8:30.
Great location and easy access / walking distance to sight seeing attractions like the Catedral and the Fortress and the Convent. There is also a laundromat nearby.
The breakfast buffet was not worth the money
Nice grounds and restaurant
Mattresses extremely hard. Room thermostat is locked so can’t adjust room temperature. Small, thin pillows.
Beautiful rooms. Easy check in. Front desk personnel very helpful.
Breakfast was pricey.
Beautiful grounds. Convenient location to the Camino.
Our room was 80 degrees since the Air Conditioning was out. No fans available so we had to open the window to try and get some air(temp never dropped below 77). Unfortunately our room was right above the dining room outdoor seating. So as lively groups ate and sang and smoked, we lay sweltering try to get some rest. It was well after midnight when everything quieted down.
High end property “You get what you pay for”Higher price—- higher quality Designer linensIncredible view of Tui from our large balconyVery kind and pleasant staffFantastic breakfast
Beautiful building and location
Beds a bit firm for me but still slept well.
Our group was impressed with absolutely everything about this beautiful property! The rooms were spotless and large, the facilities were grand, the food delicious, and the staff…friendly and caring.
Beautiful location overlooking the river, clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Great stopping point between Santiago and Porto where we were flying from. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace while admiring the view. It’s located very close to the highway and has easy access to the pretty historic center with cathedral and restaurants, via a pedestrian path along the river.
Room was a bit small compared with other paradores we’ve stayed at. We had everything we needed, but shows some signs of age
Large rooms, great restaurant, beautiful views from property
Nice views of the river and very near to the international bridge.Staff are nice.Rooms has character.
Location is at the start of the Camino in tui. If you want to explore the centre you will have to walk back and forth. However if you stay there for another purpose, it would be a nice and comfy stay.
A wonderful small hotel with friendly staff and excellent food.
Loved the building & style of the hotel. Standard Double Bedroom was spacious with lovely bathroom, comfy & warm on the ground floor so easy access. (Though very dark & shady sitting out area for summer). Staff were very welcoming & friendly (albeit limited English). Limited views over the river back to Portugal. Easy access on way into Tuy. Bar/cafeteria was open on arrival with friendly service. Interesting but limited menu in restaurant probably because it was winter & not very busy. Would visit again if in area.
Not being able to eat in Restaurant until 8.30pm ....onwards. Breakfast @ 17E + tax a little expensive.
