    Cons -

    • Very expensive parking. Steep stairs.
    • Absolutely horrid smell from the bathroom, which rendered it very unpleasant to use. The decor is pretty dated and the mattress should be replaced (quite worn and lumpy). Paper thin walls...

After the first room i was given i asked to change to another room. The second room was fine, if a little austere - plenty of space, very good bathroom. this was good value for money.

The first room i was allocated (a 'superior single' ) was extremely cramped; toilet seemed to be installed for someone with no legs it was so close to the wall; light fitting on the wall was broken; room was cold; no idea how i would have escaped if a fire had broken out elsewhere in the hotel. Luckily the staff responded to an email and i was moved to a much better room a floor below.

    - location is great, everything you need in Scheveningen is close by;- pretty basic, yet cozy, well equipped rooms, relatively inexpensive;- swift and professional assistance from administration. This is self check-in hotel with no staff onsite (except housekeeping). For these type of hotels, it is extremely important to have someone you can address arising matters because otherwise, if no one respond in a chat, you are stuck there with you and your problem one on one (more on that further);- adequate compensation for check-in inconvenience in a form of first night fee refund (more on that further).

There was really only one problem, but a major one.Well in advance I requested specific room and hotel confirmed it. 1 hour prior to my arrival, I received a message that my desired room is not ready yet and digital keys for other room to stay first night. However, upon arrival I discovered my 'new' room is far from ready either. Used bad sheets and towels, someones belongings and tons of stinky trash with unfinished food waste (It was 2nd of January, I guess someone over-celebrated New Year: ).Having not a single staff person on the premises at that moment (once again - self check-in hotel) I was quite baffled what to do next. However, I got pretty fast response from hotel administration via Booking chat with apologies and digital keys for yet another room to stay first night. Moreover, administration offered me to refund the price of a first night as a compensation for inconvenience. After first night I moved to my initially desired room and the rest of the stay was great. So all in all, initial bad impression was smoothed out by responsiveness of the hotel administration.

    Clean room, nice comfortable bed.

Only at certain times there is someone at the reception. If there is no one you should call the other hotel.

Convenient to where I wanted to be

Very steep stairs. I was on the 2nd floor, not ideal with suitcase

    8CiamisPosted on: 11-25-2024

Friendly staff, good value for money, good location.

Windows not sound proof and therefore woken up at 6 am by seagulls.Doors also quite light. Noisy people in the hallway can be annoying. How about some "silence please" signs like "Premier Inn" does it in their hotels?Very steep stairs, even for Dutch standards. Should be made known at the time of reservation. Elderly, disabled and people with heavy baggage may face a challenge.Building still carries the former Hotel Name "Bella Vista" which can be confusing at first.

Excellent price for that location -- in the center of Scheveningen, across from Kurhaus, accessible to trams #1 & #9. It is a very simple room, but it has everything that one needs.

I didn’t have any breakfast there.

The only thing I didn’t like was the smell of the bathroom, it was clean but not fresh, and the smell was not good at all, either a dirty mop was used in several bathrooms, I don’t know but the smell I sensed was not good. Apart from that everything was good.

    9AnastasiiaPosted on: 9-20-2024

The location is nice, it’s cozy and no bad bugs, big shower. The view is also nice

The sink in the room, the room is old, nobody at the reception but it’s not bad it is still working good

    8ChristianPosted on: 8-26-2024

Access easy, the hotel was probably worse before but they are renovating. Very good location close to sea and public transport, clean. Good and large bed.

No personal contact, no AC, steep stairs.

    5SvenPosted on: 8-17-2024

    - The bed was quite comfy.- Free tea and coffee- Few minutes from the beach

First of all: Never ever book cheap in Scheveningen! Always pay a little bit more if possible! Now to my room:- The shower drain was slower than the water from the shower itself. Resulting in a flooded bathroom if you are showering too long.- The All-in-One remote control for the TV was only able to change channels and the volume. Every other button just didn't work properly.- The doors are poorly soundproofed. Altough you couldn't hear anything from the walls, you could hear EVERYTHING in front of the door.- The sink is not in the bathroom, it is opposite of the bed. Be careful, the pressure from the faucet is extremely high and will get everything within reach wet.

I loved my solo room, it was perfect and had everything i needed. It was clean and i must admit the mattress was super comfortable, i slept like a baby despite it was a bit too warm in the room. Beach few min walk, supermarket close by, restaurants and cafes too. I had a lovely stay!

It was indeed a bit hot in the room and the main door was making a loud noise every time someone came in or left. Luckily there were no party people at the time of my stay so no loud noise during night.

    HOTEL Review

The name of the hotel cannot be seen at the entrance because it is broken, only the name "Hotel".The Check in system is not complicated, but if you encounter it for the first time, it is not completely unconcerning, the owner was not very ready for help and details, only "to call him if it is something not possible" Fortunately, another guest who was leaving came by and I saw how does it go. The "Hotel" is very, very noisy and not for rest! you can hear the neighbors talking and the door when they close, because the door seems unstable anyway, so they slam it even harder as if they were alone in the world, luckily I was there for a short time, otherwise I would have gone crazy..In the evening I was lucky that even worse neighbors did not come and in the evening there was still a little more peace. The surroundings are quiet, except for nature or the birds that occupy the place early in the morning and chirp loudly, and also during the day. The room was clean, the taps in the toilet were cracked. also, even though the train is on the other side of the street, when it passes you have the feeling that there is a slight earthquake in room..All in all, next time I would still look for a better Hotel for the same price, which there are, but unfortunately I canceled it.
