    Pros +

    • The House was build more than 500 years ago but it is very well maintained and clean and looks amazing, the stuff is very friendly the bar downstairs was very good and breakfast was delicious! Very good place for cyclists to stay and in general good place.
    • one of my favourite stops on the Danube bike trail… lovely historic house with flowery courtyard dating back to the times when navigating the river was life threatening and one needed guidance from the ship navigator or Schiffsmeister… this is the man who then built the house… good food and courteous staff
    • Great outdoor and indoor restaurant area and nice breakfast in a fantastic location for biking or relaxing during the weekend. The hotel is located in a village that has no much to see or to do, however it is literally 5-10 minutes walking distance away from the Donau river where swimming, fishing, jogging and relaxing is possible, I loved it! The hotel is also located aprox 15 minutes by bus away from Grein -which is totally worth to visit (the bus stop is right in from of the hotel) or one hour walking by the shore of the river. Hotels in Grein are a bit more expensive so this was a great middle-term solution. The sleeping room seemed to have been recently renovated, it was a bit hot but fine. The hotel is run by its owner, a very nice and friendly person.

    Cons -

    • The cleaning of the room was not too bad but also not perfect, which I find a pity because otherwise my stay would have been perfect. Luckily I had a silk sleeping bag wich made it up for the night.
    • No AC so had to open the window, which gets all the restaurant noise - no no sleeping until late. Older style TV - no wireless connectivity or apps like Netflix.
    • Room was very small with view on a wall and was not according to the pictures of the room I booked. But for a stay of 1 night doable.Dinner in the restaurant nothing special, parts of the burger were burned, little amount of salad.

Nice location and well kept room and premises. Nice restaurant on site - good food and breakfast. Fly Screens! A lock up bike garage!

Friendly stuff, clean rooms and bathrooms, very good restaurant with homemade food, nice bike garage

    Old fashioned but tidy rooms.

Fantastic location, very kind staff, excellent restaurant service a food quality.

Just too many stairs up to the room through tiny corridor with heavy motorcycle baggage, however it has been compensated by all the benefits mentioned in the like section.

So ,there was a complication with the reservation,we booked two rooms ,however somehow Just one was booked when WE arrived there . There was a lady i think the owner who helped and solved the Problem swiftly. She also cooked for us dinner that was quite delicios .Rooms where cleen ,so was bathroom

However the guy doing the serving at Theo Restaurant was quite bad .First of all He didnt have me back all the rest that was supposed. Played for a Beer 4.70e ,gave him 10.70e and he returned with 5. As If he assumed i would tip him .Also when my Friends payed for their Dinner he Simply asked for a tip .Also Theo prices on The Menü didnt corespund with what he asked . In Theo Menü a club sandwich was 15e He asked for 17Same with my Friends Order. Also for 80+ Euro per night i expected a way better breakfast.the breakfast was quite poor . I realised the owner really tried but This all small Things added made us not come again

We stayed only one night. Our room with bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable.

For me was a stop on my trip and just for a day, but if you want to escape from the 'concrete jungle' of a metropolitan city this is a place to be. Stunning views on the shore of Danube. I wish I had more days around there but is a place I put on my map I will revisit not just passing by.

Local shop closed too early but understanble due the size of the village.

An unpretentious guest house. Room, food, service and outdoor eating area were excellent.Would certainly recommend. One night of our Danube cycle path ride Passau to Vienna.

    10SusanPosted on: 6-12-2023

The room was clean and rustically elegant. Bike storage was convenient, breakfast had everything. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms.

Dinner at the restaurant was meh... vegetarian options seemed to be on a bed of steamed frozen vegetables. But the environment and staff were great.

    6LesPosted on: 6-11-2023

The hotel building was lovely, good bike storage.

Breakfast was poor and little choice, cigarette smoke from the beer garden wafted into our room.

    9JamesPosted on: 5-3-2023

Friendly staff, traditional building, modernised inside. Very comfortable, attentive staff, exceptional evening meal

    No complaints

We had such a wonderful stay at Daniella's place! She was extremely kind and welcoming, and made sure to serve high quality food dishes at dinner (which you must eat at the hotel's restaurant). The rooms were very clean and spacious and my family and I will definitely come back for a second visit!

    Nice breakfast selection.

I only saw one vegan dinner option but it was excellent

    7RanabirPosted on: 6-5-2022

Nice Hotel and a very Friendly owner lady.

The prices were a bit high compared to what we paid throughout our cycling trip in Austria. The Breakfast was not properly handled.

    8SebastjanfPosted on: 5-19-2022

    Farmhouse style.

Limited breakfast options. No local food or fried eggs etc.

    9AgnieszkaPosted on: 5-13-2022

Cozy Austrian style rooms. Very comfy warm bed. Very Friendly staff and owner. Arrived when all guest were already long sleeping but still managed to get some cold beer to end long day. There wete loads of mountain bikers staying over snd the house had bike room. Beautiful garden with greenery and big tarrace windows to garden.

Rather small choice of breakfast if you have long day. Addition of egg would be great!
