Pros +
- Location near excavations of the Roman town of Carnuntum.
- This is our reliable go-to for overnight stops. The location is easy and convenient, with plenty of parking. Our dog is always welcome, and the comfortable beds ensure a great rest after a long drive. Highly recommend for travelers.
- Everything was fine. Room was clean and location of the hotel is great because of the distance to the airport.
Cons -
- Lack of air conditioning was a problem with temps in the 80s. Hotel did supply a floor fan which was a help.
- Transportation was hard. Had to walk from the train station to get there. No shuttle to the airport which was a bummer.
- There was a loud water dripping-like sound in our room during whole day and night. Some maintenance would be advisable

Very pleasant hotel with lots of sightings nearby

Great location, lots of parking spaces available and rooms were as pictured. We had dinner in the restaurant and they service was fantastic! The whole staff was very helpful and accommodating. Overall a great stay close to Vienna and the airport. Check in and check out service was very easy and available online for a faster check out/in at the desk.
The walls were thin and we could hear the other guests who were being very loud but it was a holiday.
Everything. It was clean, well maintained, parking was easy, and the staff were very friendly.
There was nothing we didn’t like, everything was fine.
Beautiful classic hotel, the staff warm and welcoming, some of the best food I’ve ever eaten (try the local dishes). Room was clean, warm, and elegant, very soothing to a weary traveler. Wish to come back again in the future.
Can’t think of anything at this time.
Quiet location and good service and food.
Hotel Marc Aurel is located in the peaceful and relaxing town of Petronell, close to the archaeological site of Carnuntum. The hotel is approximately a 20–30 minute walk from the Petronell-Carnuntum train station, and there are bus services connecting Petronell to nearby towns and Vienna, with the nearest bus stop just steps from the hotel. A thoughtful strategy by the hotel management is the on-site restaurant, which serves both Austrian and international cuisine particularly useful given the limited dining options in the surrounding area.
Upon arrival, we were asked to pay an additional fee, commonly referred to as the “City Tax,” which I believe should have been included in the total price from the start or clearly mentioned in the hotel information. As a guest who cannot comfortably stay without proper cooling, this could have been a serious inconvenience. Fortunately, all rooms are equipped with a fan, which kept the nights comfortable and cool.
Peaceful location, very friendly staff and very good food
The room was too small for 4 people during summer and without AC. We all woke up sweaty in the middle of the night. Also parking is not guaranteed for all guests.
The room was fine and whilst there was no air conditioning, there was a large fan in the room; shower worked well. We had a good night's sleep in clean surroundings and comfortable bed.I was very glad that the hotel had a bar and a restaurant as there was nothing else open in the village.
On arrival we were asked to pay various extra costs which I think should have been included in from the beginning. I must say that I actually said to the person at the Reception that I am not sure what I paid for if I still had to pay the extras. I would have appreciated a gratis bottle of water or two in the room but was happy to go downstairs and buy some in the bar. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was fine but not great (seriously over-salted). A few local dishes would be welcome. If you serve fish and chips, why not make it fresh water fish, after all Austria hasn't got access to the sea?
Close proximity to Eurovelo Route, dinner at the restaurant was excellent
Room was very small with no amenities (only combo shower gel/shampoo and hand soap), no coffee machine or tea in room, breakfast was not included at was 15 euros
The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the archeological site of Carnuntum and a short walk to the train station. Also, there is a bus stop very close which we used to get to the Museum Carnuntinum. The hotel's side porch is a great place to relax, and we enjoyed the breakfasts. They also serve dinner in the bar area, with good choices and friendly wait staff.
It was very normal property
-The location is far away from the center in almost dead location and very difficult to use local transportation ,we were lucky we have our own car.-The hotel is smelly like a restaurant with .-The room cleaning is bad.-Wifi is very bad (0 out of 10)
Perfect location for visiting Carnuntum Roman Archaeological Park or the many wineries in the town. Comfortable clean room. Nice restaurant. Very kind and friendly staff. A great stay!!!
Everything was just fine! Tasty breakfast, clean room, available staff, and a great location.
Booked and paid for the hotel at about 23.10 . When we arrived at the hotel there was no one at the reception. It was 23.50 . After several calls I got through to the administration . They said they couldn't help me because they had to go far away and hung up. It was already 00.10. A very unpleasant experience .
We are staying here for over 5years and everytime is perfect - very clean & comfortable rooms, super helpful staff, great dinner after the road. Location is also great for tranzit, visiting Viena/Bratislava our the roman monument walking distance from the hotel. Highly recommend and would always stay there when in the area.
It is an accommodation option for 2 days of shopping in Parndorf.Clean, ok room, small town, quiet
