    Pros +

    • The unique build of the guesthouse and the common room were very nicely laid out. The rooms were just so nice. Best time was chilling in the common room listening to a record and drinking a cappuccino after dinner at the restaurant.
    • We were looking for somewhere to stay that was relatively remote and away from the crowds. We certainly chose right. What a perfect location. We felt at home and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Our room was so very cozy and quiet. We loved it! Dinner the first night was exquisite. Everything so fresh and delicious. Breakfast was just great. We were definitely sorry to leave after three glorious nights. Will recommend highly and certainly stay there again.
    • This is an exceptional hotel for a good value! Just off of Route 1 it is in a wonderful location off the beaten path in a quiet beautiful setting. The rooms are in a newer modern building and the views are magnificent. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. It exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is nice and breakfast is good. It's located in a quiet small hamlet with a church. The building with the modern new rooms is separate from the older farmhouse that houses the restaurant. It's connected with a board walk. This was one of my favorite stays in Iceland. Highly recommend!

    Cons -

    • Shower water overflow easily. It was pricey.
    • It can get a little warm in the rooms at night depending on the outside temperature.
    • Beds were a little narrow. Road to property was rough. Would have liked to kept the windows open at night but the bugs got in. Screens on windows would have been great.

This place was amazing. It is in the most beautiful, private setting. We saw lots of wildlife including reindeer. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and very good. We stayed in several places during our trip to Iceland and this was our absolute favorite.

Nice room. Beautiful view of the breakfast area. Saw wild arctic foxes, moose.

Shower water overflow easily. It was pricey.

Excellent all around - hospitality, best food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) in Iceland after over a week of other locations, wildlife, fishing, hiking and hot pools.

It can get a little warm in the rooms at night depending on the outside temperature.

Setting was fantastic. Eveyrone was very helpful. Environment was clean. Perfect place to stop while trying to get across the North. Would stay here again and stay longer to hike. Would highly recommend.

Beds were a little narrow. Road to property was rough. Would have liked to kept the windows open at night but the bugs got in. Screens on windows would have been great.

We had a great 2 nights stay here. The room (#10) was clean and warm. The decor is to our preference. Initially, we received a room which was nice but had difficulty with the hot shower handle. At first I thought it was not going to get resolved to our satisfaction but Victoria from the front desk took care of us and rendered the best possible resolution. It made our stay simply wonderful. By the way let me say the breakfast was delicious and abundant. The location is far enough to feel like being in the middle of nowhere but close enough to be a comfortable driving distance to many attractions.

    None so far.

Room was comfortable and clean. The grounds of the hotel was so beautiful with lots to see. We saw Reindeer, rabbits, foxes and goats

Very nice looking, clean and modern throughout, really nice. The common room is large with high ceiling, coffee machine, kettle, sink...offering nice views.I don't know if it's common/normal but a reindeer was roaming the grounds most of the time we were there, pretty funny. Breakfast was good and in a nice isolated area of the restaurant so it's quiet.

I feel the staff could be nicer, they all look a bit tense if not slightly aggressive.

Clean, bigger than other places we stayed, quiet. It was more than we spent on other locations, but we can see why.

    Nothing. Was wonderful!!

The entire hotel was amazing. The rooms were really nice and clean. There was a common area with a kitchenette and some sofas where we ended up spending our evening. There is also a restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. The food was great.Overall, it was an amazing stay with great views.

Good room and lovely living room with shared kettle, plates etc. Warm too which was essential as it was snowing and in the minus'. A radiator would have been helpful in the room to help dry our stuff. Also the overhead lights weren't very bright and the lamps weren't enough when packing in the morning.Breakfast was OK. Dinner was very expensive for only two people with one course each.Lovely location.

An absolute gem. If you are travelling towards East Coast this is a must stay accommodation. We stayed only 2 nights but I can easily imagine coming here for more than 2 weeks in summer, when the roads to the highlands are opened. For us personally this is a solid 9/10, and the only reason we don't rate it as 10/10 is that there is no sauna - but this is of course our personal preference :)

Nothing to see here, we loved everything about this stay!

    10judithPosted on: 10-28-2024

Fabulous wilderness location. Very comfortable room and the breakfast was the best we had across the 8 accommodations we stayed in whilst in Iceland. A wonderful place to go for a walk after breakfast!

    7VilhjàlmssonPosted on: 10-27-2024

Unfortunately the temperature in the room was rather cold. The guy at the reception offered me another room in the hopes it would be warmer, no such luck.. portable heaters were not available at reception. A long hot shower followed with a long sleeve & trainers - I slept beautifully! :) It's totally understandable that they don't want to keep the rooms at optimal temperature during low season so portable heater at hand would solve the issue. . Great place otherwise!

The area is remote and quiet. The room was really nice, spacious, and clean. Big common area where you can gather with your group. I wish I would have stayed longer than 1 night!

We loved our stay here, really is a hidden gem. The room is really spacious, very nicely decorated and well equipped. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. Loved all the animals especially the dogs and little cat. My partner even saw an artic fox on the walk back from breakfast.

It was quite cold in the dinning room.
