Hotel Alonso de Monroy

Perfect place for a quick stay over on the way to Madrid. Although close to the motorway, you don't hear anything during the night. Breakfast was also ok and the bonus was the pool.

The location is next to a gas station and there is nothing around, it is only for a stay over.

I chose this hotel due to location

I would prefer to have a room without breakfast... and then I can choose to have breakfast or not... sometimes it was long waiting to get one.

Réception always empty.

Easy to find, very close to my route to Portugal. Very friendly, I ate outside on the patio, a venue that was obviously shared by local families with their children. Staff were very courteous with several able to speak English. Parking was more than adequate. Inclusive breakfast, served early from 6.00 am, was much appreciated.

Could have been easier to book in, I arrived about 7.00 pm and Reception was unattended, an intercom needed to be used to raise a member of staff. My room, although large enough for a double, or two single beds, only had one single bed. Being a sole occupant it caused no problem but did appear somewhat unbalanced.

Location next to the main road made it ideal for a 1 night stopover while traveling on motorcycle. The pool was welcome on a hot day

The noise from other room. We could not get to sleep due to the thin walls and next door room having someone snoring loudly

No sleep. Next day is terrible.

Neighbors are very noisy. Laud TV at 4am. Am I not lucky? But hotel guests are truck drivers. Look as they don't care.

Everything is great over there! Super comfy beds, aircon, mini refrigerator, tea/coffee + kettle, big bathroom with a bathtub, quiet place, excellent food for breakfast, lunch & dinner etc etc

Incredible value. Good-sized room and bathroom. Fridge, kettle and drinks in room and quiet aircon. Views pretty good for a hotel just off the motorway.Staff hard-working, no fuss checking in. Plenty of parking.

This is our 3rd or 4th visit to this hotel, rooms are spacious and clean, mini fridge, kettle, instant coffee and tea in the room; bathrooms with bathtubs, bidé, toiletries and hairdryer; super comfy beds; swimming pool in summer; 24h service; free parking; near A5 motorway.Food is excellent, menu for both lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually included, pastry/toast, coffee and orange juice, very tasty as well.

There's nothing I didn't like, it's very good quality for the money!

Boiler in the room and you’ll never run out gasoline . The room was clean and bed comfortable.

Rooms are not sound proof, breakfast included is just a joke ( for short term contractors to the nuclear power plant) - a bun with tomato paste, tee or coffee.

Kindness of the staff to change the room because of the noise , good shower and nice warm and clean room.

Walls were too thin so you could hear everything and the breakfast was a bit too little.

very thin bedroom walls. It was like sharing a room with the occupants of the next door room. Restaurant poor - canteen like feel / horrible decor / v bright lights and loud rock music playing. I left in a hurry and went elsewhere

Rooms are extremely big and the beds are super comfy. There's a kettle, coffee and tea service in the room, a small fridge, aircon, nice furniture amd decoration too. Bathroom is very spacey too, with a bathtub and bide. There's a swimming pool open in summer too. Food is great in their restaurant! Great quality -price for sure!

It was a good location as we were en route from Plasencia, heading towards Toledo. The room was clean and warm.

The hotel is somewhat tired and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was included but quite basic - you order from the cafeteria which meant the options were somewhat limited; we had orange juice and a toasted roll with jam, which kept us going for the morning.

Excellent room comfort. Wifi worked well, shower hot and good pressure. Excellent breakfast for the price.

The room was excellent staff were very friendly the snack bar and restaurant excellent value.

possible to have proper cups for your coffee in the room instead of plastic cups that melt when you put hot water in them.

The rooms is spacious as well as the bathroom (bathtub, bidé & hair dryer!) with comfy beds, mini refrigerator and a kettle with some tea bags and coffee which are definitely a huge plus. The view was beautiful too. We had lunch (menu), dinner (we picked a la carta yet there was also the menu option) and breakfast there (around 7am at the bar as breakfast starts at 8:30) and everything was super delicious and not expensive at all! We will surely return to this hotel many more weekends from now on!

it was convenient as a stop over , had an evening menu for 10.50 euros each including a bottle of wine. good value for money

breakfast was minimal and the walls are a bit thin, could here next door snoring

The hotel was conveniently located for our overnight stop, it had a very affordable restaurant offering a basic, good three course meal for dinner. The swimming pool was a great plus considering it was above 40 degrees celcius, thanks to the aicro we had cool rooms too. The rooms were clean and we slept well. The hotel is close to the motorway, but it does not feel that way, there is no noise. Breakfast was excellent.

We did not receive a response to our request for adjoining rooms, they were on two different floors, but still quite close to one another, so it wasn't a real problem.

The location was excellent. Just off the motorway. The staff were very nice. Excellent breakfast. The price was fantastic. Very big pool and garden around with shade. Hotel reception was the only cool area in the hotel and cafeteria.

The room had aircon but it did not work at all. The temperature outside was over 40 degrees and impossible to sleep with the heat and no point in opening the windows as that just brought more heat into the room. Luckily we had a fan which we took up to the room which was a god send. The reception was not manned unless you rang for them. Anyone could walk in off the road so no security at all. Didn't feel very safe and anyone could access the pool when no-one was in reception. The cafeteria had only a little aircon so not comfortable for eating. The price was good but I had the chicken which was terrible although my husband had the salmon which was very good. People have complained about the temperature in the rooms for years but nothing has obviously been done about it. Will not stay here again
