Pros +
- The location of the hotel was excellant
- Excellent hotel for some late winter sun, spa was included in the reasonable price. We will return!
- The only credits I will give this property is the location, that the beds and pillows were comfortable and seemed to have good amenities for families with children
Cons -
- We were put in a room with a locked door. Despite asking for door to be opened and being promise a key we were entombed until late afternoon on the day before departure. Token for towels and access to safe were not given on check-in and we had a queue
- The staff was rude and curt, the first room I was put in had massive gaps in the flooring and the finish peeling off, whole place is very dated and needs a major overhaul, the second room I was put in (after expressing concern about the party across the road and the noise from that) was on the other side of the hotel facing the casino that had a night club going until 5:30am! The mini fridge chugged loudly but never was even cool let alone cold or usable, zero sound proofing at all - heard every conversation, snoring, etc in surrounding rooms. No ice on property you have to go ask in the bar and get a single glass of ice at a time. You have to haul your bags up steps (there is no ramp) to get to the elevators. Overall this hotel was 100% not worth it
- The bedroom light was very dim in the night, only to sleep, couldn’t even read in the room. 4 table light with very low voltage light. The bathroom and kitchenette light much better. Need a brighter light in the bedroom. Breakfast, Some variation in cooked vegetables would be great. Every day same mushrooms and broiled tomatoes.Hope this will be helpful.

Everything the hotel had to offer.
In the folder in the room showed a picture of a pool table in the games room but, there wasn't one. Disappointing.
Lovely birthday gift, very thoughful
No double bed despite requesting it,
We upgraded our room to oceanfront because the standard room has no view or balcony. And the upgrade was well worth it! Great view and large private balcony. Comfy bed and good shower. Nice little mini kitchen. Complimentary breakfast was very good. We didn't use the outside pool but did try the jacuzzi and indoor pool and they are good. There's a nice promenade where you can walk, jog, ride a rental bike, and then the lovely beach begins. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance... We loved Rafaels! And the hotel is really great for golfers, with lots of first rate courses nearby and the hotel offers a free shuttle service.
In our opinion, the pool and jacuzzi could be a bit warmer. But they are well designed. Also, one night we headed down to the bar in the evening and discovered that the bar music had changed and 2 clowns were putting on a children's show, with the kids dancing to the music. Parents and grandparents were watching. Now, we are parents (although old enough to be grandparents now!) so we appreciate that the kids were having fun... but it does mean that the adults who wish to have a drink need to leave the hotel to find the right place. Again, not a deal breaker for us at all.The only other thing I would mention is that our room had 2 single beds pushed together vs a standard double bed or a queen. It may be a special request.
Location was perfect. Near the beach and marina.
Hotel is dated and tired in places. Room was ok but air conditioning was weak. Breakfast was basic. Overpriced for what you get.
Location, pool.
No balcony, breakfast overcrowded and food ran out quickly with it taking a while to restock, more non-dairy options for milks etc would be great.
Location was excellent
Hotel is a little dated. We had an issue with the balcony door not locking which we addressed immediately to the reception and booking.com. Nothing was done about it from either party so very disappointing. No correspondence back from either party.
Everything from customer service to the food and facilities.
Parking can be dificult to find.
The location of this property is great
The staff are rude. You have to pay for parking and even if you want to pay you are put on a waitlist because they don’t have enough parking for everyone. I have to street park for 10 days costing €18 a day.The reception staff didn’t even show us the facility or explain where everything was located (only our room) we used the pool but had to use our own towels from our room. The beds are so hard it is more comfortable on the floor. They do not supply irons for your clothes only a laundry service which will cost but also doesn’t open on sundays. So if you arrive on a Saturday evening you must wear your creased clothes until Monday. I tried their cafe for a sandwich but was turned away first because it was not after 12pm and when I returned they told me it would take 25mins to make a sandwich. There was 3 guests in the cafe. Not busy. The only staff that were nice was the cleaners. If you are booking her don’t expect much.
breakfast was good; some staff at breakfast were really nice; the beach in front is really amazing
I had so many expectations for this hotel, as it is a 4 star near the marina, high price, directly facing the ocean, not many hotels have these features around. So I specifically made a reservation for a Seaview room. When I got there, I was given a side room with partial view of the ocean, facing the sides of the hotel, a completely horrific room & view. When I asked the reception about this, I got a "that's life" answer from a lifeless staff. 2 days later I eventually got changed to a different room (thanks to the email intervention of my husband who had made the reservation for me but was not staying in). And this experience I had with the room was pretty much the reflex of my entire stay: nothing was simple, reception staff needs training, hotel needs renovation, my room safe was broken twice, staff generally have the "I'm too good to serve you" attitude. Of course there were exceptions, but this was the general feeling that stayed for me and my mother.
- Location of the hotel is A1. You have a beautiful sandy beach right in front of the hotel. I think it is the best beach in the area. Marina is nearby for spending time in the evening with drinks, food and music.- Staff is very friendly and helpful. - We had booked a Junior Suite and the room was good for 3 of us (2 adults + 1 child)- Big balcony with a beautiful view of the sea- Multiple swimming pools (external + internal) which were very clean and well maintained. In case of bad weather we could go to the internal pool and jacuzzi area. Never a moment wasted.
- The breakfast was the same everyday and we got tired of the same selection everyday during our 1 week stay- The soap and shampoo were the same even though they were in different bottles. Would have been good to have a shampoo
Excellent Breakfast. Location, 2 minute walk to the marina at Vilamoura.
No Tea/Coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Hotel and rooms a little dated.
Location was great ; air conditioning was very good in bedrooms but hallways and elevators need air conditioning also
Bedroom with nice balcony and beautiful sea view
The AC didn’t work
Location. Pool and room view
Lifts were old and tiny
Excellent location. Very close to the Marina. Room (suite) was a great size for a family of four.

Great location, room was very clean , staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice .A bonus was the free car parking space .
