- Besse and surroundings are beautiful
Cons -
- Our expectations were much higher considering price and 4 stars rating. No staff to help with door/ luggages, no information at reception, room not done everyday (!!), ridiculous breakfast with coffee in thermos and 15€ extra to access a super basic spa, no fridge in the room and no bathtub even though this was sold as a family room.
- The gathering staff and especially at breakfast, was really bad. Arguing witch each other. Fake, pretending to be polite.Partly no food 45 mins before closure. Always need to ask fro drinks, plates, cleaning....etc...Bad management.Cleaning really simple. Motto for part of the staff is "the less i do, the better i am"
- It’s very rare I give a bad rating so I’m going to explain in detail. First, we slept very poorly, partly to do with soft mattresses but mainly because the room was too hot and we couldn’t air it out. The ground floor windows opened completely but the plastic flimsy shade was inside the windows(!) so to air out the room you have to have both window and shade open, exposing yourself to anyone who wants to easily step through the window. having a baby and small daughter we weren’t willing to take that risk. we tried to for a moment but could not sleep as we were anxious about our vulnerability. Speaking of the children, they offered a cot for the baby but “no mattress for hygiene regulations”which is the first in years of hotel cots that a hotel has said this to us. They advised us to bring our own mattress for the cot which is incredible but we obliged. (why not bring our own mattresses for the beds too?!)the room was mostly clean but had stained / dirty carpet in the toilet (under the toilet) and the cleaning service came and made beds but did not take the dirty mugs and replace them with clean ones which was surprising. we reserved the spa in advance but no one told us the sauna wasn’t working which is the primary reason we book spas. the jacuzzi was set to 33 C I believe which is uncomfortably cold. we left immediately after finding this out and told receptionist who was surprised no one informed us of sauna being out of service. we weren’t billed for the spa, which was correct of them as we didn’t use it and were not informed. warning : Parking quite far especially with small children, handicap parking just as far.All this to say, for the price we were expecting a luxurious experience and we were greatly disappointed, hence the below average review. on top of the already high price tag on the room, we paid an additional 40€ for our small dog for two nights which again seemed steep. there were other small things as well I’ll stop here.

No notice given that all hospitality closed SundaySmall choice menu that never changesWifi virtually non existent or secureTV stuck to wall so no access to USBBesse - old ugly poorly maintained and poor restaurants for alternative eating
very nice newly constructed hotel environmentally built.
wonderful staff. very friendly
The design of the hotel (seeing the sky and nature easily from the bed, multiple stairwells / entry points, the bar/lounge area, the outdoor spaces)
The system for reserving the jacuzzi is complicated; the online/hotel system isn't synched with the spa, and there's room for error / confusion.
Remote relaxing location. The SPA is very nice and relaxing (private appointment), simple but nice restaurant. Good service overall. Spacious parking
Cosmetics could be better.
The location was amazing. A short walk from the beautiful village and lovely restaurants. Ideal location for exploring and seeing the stunning countryside. The rooms were great with very comfortable beds. Everything you needed in a hotel room.
The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the evening meal in the restaurant. The cocktails were great but the food was quite bland and expensive. We wish we had gone back to the village for a meal out but after a long day touring we chose to stay at the hotel. We were disappointed.
The location was perfect and the facilities were very modern and nicely decorated. And the staff was super helpful.
Not big deal, but probably an external pool would be nice for summer time.
Staff friendly Room was a good size
Having to select from an A4 sheet the breakfast you want in the morning is not what was expected at this price point - then when only a small breakfast arrived was very disappointing. Whilst room was good size it was quite scarce and utilitarian.Gym - three cardio machines do not make a gym! Treadmill, bike and stepper that's it. Rubbish didn't bother in the end. Despite the hotel being empty we were put next to a young family which highlighted that the rooms are not soundproofed in any way!
Peaceful gorgious setting on the hill. Soul soothing beautiful elegance. Staff is lovely helpful and very elegant too. View from the room, beeakfast, sauna.
The charge for the dog is 20 euros
Stayed for one night on route through Frances. Very friendly staff and super accommodating of our needs traveling with a dog. Nice grounds for walking and great to see the horses and foal outside our bedroom window. My partner enjoyed the spa. Felt like a nice retreat from the world, would recommend.
Nice new hotel in the hills, excellent beds, great staff, and a nice, quiet and save place to stay whilst driving to the cotes d'azur. Also suitable for a longer stay if you like a quiet environment.
Th only weird thing was the carpet in toilet and bathroom....
Perfect location (green mountain landscape, close to many hiking and cultural points of interest), friendly and attentive staff (reception, restaurant, spa), wide range of spa services, delicious restaurant food and drinks, spacious room with a nice layout and light-colour wood design, comfortable bedding.
Everything was perfect.
Modern design and decor as well as tech in the rooms very good. All the staff especially in the restaurant bilingual and very friendly. Lovely views from the rooms.
The restaurant did not live up to the price tag at all. Savoury dishes at dinner were poorly seasoned , chicken was dry and my veal tough to cut never mind chew with poor jus. Nice cheese trolley but not given choice to choose what cheeses we wanted. At breakfast they had no idea how to make cappuccino…. What came was black coffee with a bit of frothy foam on top….deserts were good . Sadly due to covid we were unable to get a slot in the spa. Communication prior to arrival computerised and therefore not easy.
Countryside view, rooms pleasantly minimal. The 2 massages were very good and these staff had good customer relations skills
Last minute announcement that the restaurant was closed Sun Mon and Tues. I arrived Sat dinner fully booked not able to eat there. No solarium as advertised. Spa had 2 jacuzzi. The bells on the Saler cows outside the rooms were audible all night. That said I did give a lot of Lee way in my answers and suspect that it was nit easy to get the best staff. As I could not eat there I cannot comment. The local village 2 walk was far more amiable to take breakfast
Food is not good
Great hotel with an amazing view!
the wellness

Coffee machine was missing in room.
