    Pros +

    • The location was beautiful. The breakfast was more than we expected.
    • Breakfast had bacon and eggs plus a fresh baked pastry. And the typical toast, meats, vegetables, and fruits. Room was spacious. Good midpoint location on the drive around the south coast.
    • We appreciated the valuable information given to us for travelling and what to see. We learned about the culture and family traditions from our host. She assisted us with getting bag lunches for our early morning starts which was appreciated.

    Cons -

    • The road leading to the hotel at night dark
    • It's a little far from everything.
    • It was busy with all 17 rooms filled and only two washrooms/showers but we managed.

    Very quite and nice location

    Better breakfast options

Breakfast was good and location was great if you’re traveling towards the south of Iceland. Room was comfortable and spacious

The winds were so high causing a metal flap outside the window to bang all night. Not sure what purpose it serves but if possible to get it stabilized that’d be nice to allow sleep. Maybe even an hour later for checkout would allow a later breakfast as well - I was finding myself forcing to wake up to get breakfast before missing it

EXCELLENT breakfast!!! Don’t miss it! Hotel has incredible surrounding and the remote checking is great.

Quiet - clean rooms - good breakfast - friendly staff.

    Not much

Walls paper thin, noisy and was like a cheap dorm room. Grossly overpriced. Breakfast just so-so.

Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff. Good location. Comfortable beds.

Mediocre room equipment and room decor

Our room was very clean and comfortable and the included breakfast was a lovely buffet. This was a very convenient accommodation along the Ring Road.

It would have been nice to have had a plain yogurt offered at breakfast, in addition to the sour and sweetened yogurts.

The hotel was located deep into the land, so it provided us with enough calm and quiet from the main roads of Iceland. The room itself was easily accessible, and it was quiet spacious for two people. I appreciated the desk with a few options for tea, plus with a readily available vending machine at the front of the hotel since we were caught in a wind storm during our first day. The bathroom also was pretty spacious too, provided with enough amenities as well. Breakfast was one of our favorites during our stay here, they provided a great variety that Iceland had to offer (with the fun shot of Lysi to start our day).

Check-in was a bit odd, I had read that the staff office was separate from the hotel where guests stayed, but I had forgotten and ended up walking straight into the hotel without a clue to go anywhere. A more obvious sign to check-in to the office first would be appreciated! In terms of the room, I felt quite safe staying in Iceland in general, but we were a little unsure about our room being unlocked after it had been cleaned.

Hotel was very nice. Our room was very comfortable & the pressure in the shower was amazing. Location is great, close to town. Back drop of the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was very good & was included in our nightly rate of $309.46 US in May 2025.

Everything was good so I don't have any complaints.

We loved the comfy beds, clean rooms, and great location for all the places we wanted to visit.

When the wind gets gusty, it can be hard to sleep. I'm a very light sleeper. Please take this negative comment with a grain of salt.

Everything was amazing! The room is beautiful, beds are comfortable, showers have good pressure and heat, and the breakfast is the best in Iceland!

There is nothing I didn’t like. If there was a jacuzzi, dinner and bar would have stayed here the entire week.

We enjoyed our stay. It has beautiful views and a nice breakfast.

The furniture is a little old but is fine

    9AntonisPosted on: 4-20-2025

The room was very clean and warm! Breakfast was excellent and generous, providing a variety of savory and sweet options. Location is around 15-20 min drive from Vik

I would suggest to offer the fruits as a whole and not in pieces for waste management and for people to take away as a snack

Its in a very remote area, has a great view. Very large room and check in was the easiest Ive seen

    Nothing to dislike about

    10LorrainePosted on: 3-12-2025

This hotel is comfortable and was easy to find. Very close to Vik but away from the hustle and bustle.

It can be noisy but evening quiets down during the quiet hours.

I love how it's kinda off the beaten path. Right next to a mountain. Absolutely beautiful spot. Perfect for northern light viewing if you walk out the front door and walk across the lawn. No city lights taking away from the view. Beds were comfy. We got the 2 single beds and pushed them together and it was a cozy night.

Couple hiccups but not a huge issue. One of the lights didn't work and the TV didn't work but wadnt really our priorities while there anyway.
