The facility is clean and mostly renovated. our room was ok, beds comfortable. Parking with plenty of parking spaces available, free. Close to town, at least by car. Also to the Wartburg castle. For a one-night stopover on a journey, quite good.

Our room was probably still before the refurbishment, hence it was not stunning. The view of the roof wasn't either. It was a high floor, the stairs are partly steep and there is no lift. The staff offered us breakfast for 11 euros and free for children. This seemed like a good offer, but the result was a few pieces of cold meat, few cold eggs, jam and bread, all very little for 4 people. I would not recommend breakfast.

Location, restaurant, very good breakfast

Location is the only good thing to mention - it's very close to Drachenschlucht. Everything else made us regret of the choice.

After we arrived we found out that the room is teeming with ants! They were all around the rooms floor. I immediately informed the staff hoping they could offer another room or any compensation, but instead they just sent a lady with a mop who tried to wipe the insects. Needless to say that 10 minutes later the ants were back again. There were just too many of them.After meeting the insects we were not very surprised to find someones hair on the pillowcase and bad smell in the bathroom. So if you love insects and don't care about basic hygiene - this hotel is a right choice. Everyone else should avoid this place.

Great place to stay, amazing food in the restaurant Breakfast in the morning also very good. Perfect location close to the town and castle.

Staff were friendly, prices were affordable and we had a good night sleep. Parking was available. It was all we needed!

Rooms could do with updating.

I would recommend this hotel over and over again. it was clean, very comfortable (the second best beds I have slept on in Europe!), and the breakfast was perfect. You’ll pay a little extra for the breakfast, but it is worth every cent and more. it was hearty, delicious, and they made fresh eggs for us when we sat down. I didn’t even need lunch that day after that breakfast.

As best I can tell the parking lot is very small and there was a large party gathering at the restaurant (I can’t blame them, the food looked amazing and the restaurant is Percy for a party) which made parking really hard even though we got back from a performance late at night. you know it’s a great place when the only ‘problem’ is that everyone wants to be there!

Nice hotel and restaurant in a great location to access Wartburg and the beautiful natural surroundings by foot. The room was a little small for 2 but the staff were very welcoming and the service was exceptional which more than made up it. We would definitely stay again.

Horrible check-in times

Reception was closed for 3 hours in the afternoon between 1430 and 1730, just when one normally arrive to check. This was not stated anywhere except one the reception door.....! :-(

The location was very good. The woodland paths were on the doorstep. The city centre was a 15 minute walk away down a lovely forest path. In the city, the Luther Haus and the Bach Haus were really great places to visit. Breakfast and dinners were both good.

There was no lift.
