Easy to find, parking in front, garage in the back, warm, excellent breakfast

The hotel was located right across from the Altenburg train station which meant that it was very easy to walk over to the hotel from the S5 with luggage. I had to book two rooms for my family of four, but the price was very, very affordable. Rooms were large and clean and the staff was very helpful and courteous. Although we didn't get to enjoy the bar, it was very cozy and well-apportioned. Really, the hotel exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that we only spent one night in Altenburg before moving on to Leipzig. I do plan on returning to Altenburg in the future and will definitely plan on staying at the Hotel Astor again.

The rooms use conventional, old-school keys. This isn't really a problem, but for some reason the lock on my door was a little sticky, it may just need to be lubed. The lock on the other room we booked was fine. Although not critical, the rooms could have also benefited from having a mini-fridge.

The breakfast was wonderful, very elaborate and plentiful. Room was very comfortable and very clean.

The management was very friendly and sorted an issue for us. The property was very clean and had nice breakfast which was fresh.

There was no fridge, some basic amenities like toothpaste was missing, and there was another issue with fees but it was sorted by the seniors.

In short - never again!

Says no prepayment needed, but then keeps messaging for an email address to send payment link - quite annoying when riding a motorcycle trying to make it before 9pm. Arrival to the place itself- a friendly note of nearly all access streets closed for construction would be nice... at least. Checked in. No shower gel or soap in shower, and then receptionist has to argue that " it's there you have to pump it" come on - just give that new bottle of soap and I'll bring the empty one back

I booked a room with a Double sized standard Bed, we got three single bed when we arrived. We asked to change but apparently "no more were available", they said they will give us the money back, I am still waiting. No one was here to help us.

Room compact but comfortable with no noise from neighbouring rooms or the corridor.. Good filling breakfast, plenty of options for vegetarians. The hotel is directly opposite the Altenburg railway station which offers direct trains to Leipzig and Halle as well as towns in Thuringia. Good supermarket and bakers in the building next door.

Some noise from the gym downstairs. Shower facilities are rather basic

1 extra night wasn't the same price as previous nights, and was justified as 'we are really busy' but currently, the car park is empty.No fridge in room either.

Good breakfast, free parking. Hotel is very handy for the station but a 15 minute walk from the main part of the town, where most restaurants are located.

No restaurant and the hotel shuts down once the reception closes, which means the bar closes early.

Stay was clean and comfortable, perfect for our visit to the MotoGP

Everything was fine. Clean. Friendly. Easy to find. The stairs up to the front door are a bit of a hassle with heavy luggage, but manageable.Giant mirror!

The WiFi barely reaches the rooms at the end of the corridor. But that's the only downside.

Big room, good bed, perfect breakfast, good parking places, good Greek restaurant in the same complex, also other restaurants not to far from the hotel

My room (145) was exactly located above the gym. The weights falling on the floor caused lots of noise in my room (till 22.00 and starting again at 06.00 hours).

Breakfast was very good, with a very good choice of food, fresh and tasty. Location is perfect, with sights and shopping area around. The room was very cosy.

Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.
