    Pros +

    • Gorgeous building in lovely wooded setting - large rooms, well-appointed, fascinating hillside grounds and plans for expansion.
    • Outside of Internet only in the lobby, this place is great.
    • Liked the location and the walks around the property and the pool.

    Cons -

    • Although lovely continental breakfast was included, there was no mention of the extra charge for any egg dishes.
    • It’s a relatively new hotel, and there are some minor growing pains but generally good.
    • It was exceptionally hot during our stay and the air conditioning did not work well enough. We paid for a suite but since there wasn't air conditioning in one of the rooms my son and I slept on the floor in the one room while my wife and other son slept on the beds. So we paid almost twice as much for the room and slept on the floor so not great.

The owner was very nice and tried to accommodate the fact that the air conditioning was completely ineffective by providing us with a fan. But the fan barely worked and didn't really do much.

Wonderful host, lovely room, excellent breakfast. Great experience.

How hospitable and kind the owner and staff were. The owner Olivier is a gem and a wonderful host! Per our request. He even arranged a private car for us to tour the surrounding areas which was really great.

The breakfast though very fresh and wonderful was a bit too $$$.

Very nice chateau. Location was very good, lovely interior space. cant say anything negative in this respect.

No full length mirror for the lady of the house. Compared to other places at a similar prices a few little touches wouldhave been better. Small bottle of fizz at 38Euros seems expensive.

The grounds were lovely; glorious deciduous trees , swimming pool (not in operation in October), woodlands, a creek, hammocks and sitting areas scattered throughout. The chateau could be grand, and probably once was. The view from my room was pure serenity.

It was tired. The whole place needed a good clean, the room smelled musty, the king bed was uncomfortable as two singles had been pushed together and held with a sheet. The towels were almost threadbare and the carpet needed to be replaced. Breakfast was ample but definitely not gourmet. The location is great if you have a car but it is situated well out of town so you need to eat out every night.

Unusual being in a limestone cave, yet very comfortable! Loved the renovation and design.

Sorry the sauna was not yet working, but understand it will be soon.

Beautiful property and room. The host was great and so was breakfast.

    Not cheap but worth it.

Breakfast was good and having wine on the patio in the evening.

Carpet in the bedroom has multiple stains.

Staying in a real Chateau is kind of a unique experience. It’s quietly located by a village but still close enough to Amboise for visiting other nearby Chateaus. The hotel room is very big for 2 people, the estate is like a private park with many trees and some trails. The manager/owner Olivier is very professional and knowledgeable, and a very decent gentleman.

There is a stale smell throughout the hotel due to its age I believe. The toilet and the washing rooms are located at opposite ends of the room, which is kind of inconvenient. The aged wood floor squeaks when you step on it. And the price is a bit too high.

The property is magical. A large house built into the side of a hill, 12 rooms, expansive lawn, winding path to a private pool. It felt like we wandered onto an old family estate and we got it to ourselves. Very relaxing.

a welcome letter explaining how to make the most of the experience. There was minimal staff and it wasn't clear when/where to find them and what they needed to know from us. Something like, "there will be a person on duty from x-Y. Please let us know by X time that you plan to have breakfast and what time. May we suggest..."

    Breakfast was great.

We've stayed at this chateau twice now. This time we were there during a brutal heatwave and the lack of AC made our rooms very uncomfortable.

It was comfortable and had history and a pool

    Difficult to find

The atmosphere is as good as expected, very quiet and refreshing, especially in the morning.

Because it is an old castle that is hundreds of years old, the facilities and age of use have changed with time. Some parts are quite dark, there are cobwebs in some places, the windows have pieces of stone in the frames that can break if opened too hard. Access to the hotel during the time I went was very difficult because a major road was closed, we had to take a detour, and the road before reaching the hotel had many potholes.

Lovely original chateau, to stay and experience the lifestyle of the Chateaux sur loire. The property is being worked, adding new suites carved out of the rock.Unique setting and site plan.

Being an old original chateau, it is in need of many updates and repairs. It has the potential to being a 5 star with the right improvements.

Wonderful chateau. Clean rooms, easy check in and friendly staff. Assisted us with dinner plans and explained walking paths near the hotel. Our room was beautiful with an outstanding view. The hotel was preparing more rooms located within the quarry and we got to see them. We had a great stay!

Beautiful old chateau in a lovely park setting. The chateau had beautiful grounds in the French countryside with trails for walking our dog. Our room was spacious with two rooms living room and bedroom with balconies overlooking the front garden and park. Modern bathroom. The chateau is only 10 mins from the charming French village of Amboise, with old half timber houses and great restaurant pedestrian street opposite the Amboise Chateau. It’s also close 20 mins to Chenonceau chateau my favorite and a hour drive to Chambord. We also rented bikes and saw other local chateaus.. The owner Olivier was an amazing host, really friendly and gave us tips on the area and history of the chateau. It felt like staying in a French country home! Olivier also provided restaurant recommendations and made reservations for us each night. We especially liked Chez Bruno in Amboise (casual) and Liberte (formal and really amazing 5 course French meal with inventive chef). The French breakfast was also great with croissants, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, eggs etc. And the staff were super friendly and helpful! Totally recommend this amazing chateau!
