Pros +
- The twisty road motorbike ride to this out of the way location was great and the room was comfortable and quiet.
- The staff was very welcoming, and made it possible for us to have a late arrival, so we didn't need to worry about the hour. Breakfast was perfect, with home baked croissants and excellent coffee, and the pleasant company of the owners and their dogs.We felt at home, almost like visiting family.
- We arrived on a dark wet, late October evening and we were able to park on the road right by the hotel. Check-in was promptly completed. Our room was small and simply furnished but fine for an overnight stop. We went down to the bar-restaurant and found a room full of our host's collection of memorabilia - a great topic of conversation with our friendly host. The next morning we enjoyed a good Continental breakfast served in the bar, then walked around outside. A "Grande Randonnee" route passes here, and there are nice views - no doubt a popular venue for walkers in summer.
Cons -
- The location feels like the middle of nowhere and there is nothing really to see/explore nor any shops, cafes or restaurants other than in the small number of hotels which reside there. The outside of the hotel is untidy, in fact initially when arriving there I thought the hotel was closed and had been for some time, but discovered it was open when finding the entrance door unlocked. The room decor is original and very dated but this may appeal to some. The proprietor reminded me a bit of Basil Faulty, again this quirkiness will appeal to some, and there are those who keep coming back to stay, but probably won't appeal to most who prefer 3 to 4 star accommodation.
- Everything is fine, I found nothing to not appreciate but I prefer to change the opening hours in the evening for hotel room 15h Instead of17h.
- Nothing, but others will dislike the feeling that the hotel is old fashioned. Don't be put off by the somewhat shabby exterior - there's a warm welcome inside!

Good breakfast and dinner from home kitchen.Good collection of drinks. Most of all the owner of the property is very humble person and have good humour.

Very quirky place, pinballs and jukebox in the bar , the owners are really nice, had a nice evening meal, and breakfast, the next day, perfect for my trip on my motorbike, was a nice if different experience of france,
Corinne and Michel are very welcoming. The hotel is a great place to stay if you want a comfortable and friendly location on the Col de Turini.I really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast, which were served in their eccentric bar/diner area, which is full of motor racing memorabilia and pinball machines! The hotel is very good value, but don't expect a new, shiny place - comfortable, yes, but modern, no, and that's fine by me.

Charming characterful hotel, with lovely hosts.
Rooms were comfortable but quite basic.
The location was very good, the value was excellent. The hotel is "quirky" to say the least. The restaurant is like an amusement park, lots of pinball machines, a Wurlitzer jukebox, car rally and rugby paraphernalia, and loads of other things.
The place is a little "tired" and in need of restoration but at the price was still good.
What an unusual place, the "decor" in the restaurant was unusual, to say the least. Spent quite a while just looking at all the paraphernalia. The hotel itself is a little "tired" but our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The meal we had in the restaurant was very good.Overall, it was excellent value for money.
Took a little while for the hot water to come through in the shower, but when it did, it was great, as was the water pressure.Bar/restaurant didn't open until 7pm.
One of those last hidden gems where even the owner is living there and cooks you brilliant french food, and food for thoughts as well.
Quaint mountain retreat. Funny atmostpehere in the dining hall, like a museum of monte carlo, globes, pinball machines and animal statues. Rooms look pretty nice. Value for money is very very good!Plain breakfast that cost 1 euro more than the price listed on booking.com. When i informed the manager about the price he started talking about wishing for a french brexit and that booking.com was taking over the world and ruining small businesses ;) Funny atmosphere!
Hard pillow. Spider in old spider web in the cieling in the room ;)
Location , excellent. Top of one of the passes. The dinner was ok , nothing special. Captive audience, nowhere else to eat. Great view from bedroom though.
the location and friendliness of the serving personnel. surprising restaurant decoration.
old hotel with old rooms and sanitory equipment. Questionable reliability of the electrical installation.
I could give 1 or 10 to this strange charming hotel on the top of Col de Turini. I decided to give a good evaluation because coming here is AN EXPERIENCE. The owner is a strange, funny pirate, his wife is super sweet and the place is unreal. Don't miss the experience. It's worth and the pirate can be very polite
Everything and Nothing. You must take the place as it is to enjoy the experience
A quaint hotel which is basic but the food and beer are good. The owners are friendly and helpful
Not much, I love the rustic appeal
location, uniqueness
tired facilities
Friendly owner, location
It's a bit of a mess in the restaurant
most amazing place with an amazing decor and ambiance!! Great location with a stunning view. the personnel is warm and welcoming and the food is really good
Le style à l'ancien,convivial l'attention de personnel
When I arrived at this hotel it looked like it was owned by the Addams family, it looks very run down, this could be partially down to the season, the room looked like it was from the 80s but I have to say I really enjoyed staying there, the room was spotless even though it needed updating, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was exceptional, I watched the sun set over the mountains. The restaurant was full of atmosphere as well as the rest of the hotel, the food was excellent, this place was one of those really unexpected gems and I really enjoyed staying there, best hotel experience on my whole trip. Stay there its an experience you will enjoy.
If I was to answer this based on first impressions I would trash the hell out of this place but you know the location, character and service overrides all that but I did have to compromise my expectations based on probably being spoiled by the way other hotels provide facilities.
