Pros +
- Gorgeous rooms and beach at the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Within walking distance from delicious food vendors on Encenada Beach.
- We like Everything about this hotel, It was an amazing experience there. The food was excellent. And the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
- Everything was very clean and comfortable. Everybody was very nice , the staff was super accommodating, they even upgraded my room to an ocean view and decorated it for our honeymoon. Alexander the server at the restaurant was also exceptional
Cons -
- The bathroom shower head needs to be updated it’s a little uncomfortable and there’s a lot of mosquitoes outside be warned
- We booked an excursion through the hotel which was very expensive. While it was a snorkeling excursion, there was no equipment which wasn't shared. When we got to the snorkeling spot, the guide said another boat would bring a mask which didn't happen.
- Sometimes there can be some mosquitoes on the pier and next to swimming pool but only in the evenings and it is something very hard to manage

Food was ok but not great. Restaurant staff were lovely but the dinner was not great.

We just had the most wonderful time at Punta Rucia Lodge! It's truly a beautiful place, kept super clean. The staff were always busy, picking up leaves and cleaning the beach every single day. Our little cottage was lovely, just the right size, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. They cleaned our room spotless every day, too! While we were there, it was pretty quiet and peaceful, even with a few other guests. Everyone was just enjoying their time without bothering anyone. The water was crystal clear, and the private beach was amazing for just chilling out – no loud music to interrupt! The best part, though, was definitely the staff! Big thanks to Alex, Ruth, Danger, Edwin, and Eridania. Every single person was so kind and always made sure we were having a great time. Some spoke good English, but even the ones who didn't tried so hard to help, even teaching us some Spanish in a fun way!The food at the restaurant was really good, especially the local dishes. Even the coffee was very good. We also had a magical romantic dinner on the pier one evening. The staff made it so beautiful with lovely decorations as the sun went down. It was so cool to see the fish swim right up to the pier while we ate!We booked two private trips through the hotel, and both were fantastic. The boat trip to Paradise Island was incredible! Our boat driver gave us plenty of time to snorkel and see all the colorful fish underwater. And the ride back, speeding through the bushes, was so much fun!Our other trip was to the Damajagua Wwterfalls, which was also amazing. We had a driver, and Sadiel, one of the staff members, that came with us. His English was excellent, and he helped us understand everything. This trip was extra special because it was my husband's birthday, and he said it was his best birthday ever! We had such a great time, even in the car, as they showed us a bit of real Dominican life. It was truly priceless!

Excellent place, the staff is good, the service is very good, only the bed is too hard for my liking, the television and the toilet don't work, everything else is excellent...10 out of 10 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The staff and food were good, the faciity is nice and the hotel lanscape is beautiful
The bathroon had a leakage
The scenery is gorgeous and the hotel is very serene, quiet and perfect place to meditate and relax. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The place is super clean and the food is excellent.
Safe, beautiful location. VERY tranquil. Staff members were helpful and very friendly. Food was excellent as well.
The place is simply paradise. The beach is many hues of blue and chest deep. The infinity pool. The food is a la carte with healthy options. Best for couples or those who prefer quiet and rustic luxe. The excellent service from the staff. The details in the room. Especially the cleaning service from Melina and Alejandra, and the restaurant bar staff Alexander, Edwin and Danger. The staff made our stay memorable and made us feel we were their most important guests.
Some villas are a little dated and linens worn out. The beach towels also. But everything is so clean; simply ask for a new set of towels or anything you need changed. Try to book one the best villas. The ocean front. The staff accommodated all of our requests.
Location, breakfast, staff
Air conditioner in room was not cold enough and the mosquitoes at night. The rate is overpriced.
We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and the facilities are pretty well kept. What we really enjoyed was the beach. Water is calm and there's a dock where you can watch the sun set. Having a coffee machine in the room was pretty neat. Will return for sure.
Food service in the restaurant can be a bit slow.
Quiet and so serine. Loved the details in decorations. And the attention. From the second we got there they welcomed us with clean towels that smelled amazing and a refreshing delicious juice. The staff was amazing and attentive.
Holly triangle of Lodges, Beach and good food. The lodges is only for sleep, the rest of (all of!!!) the day should be spent at the beach (or at the pool).Staff are extremely friendly, the breakfast is tasty and the dinner too (the Risotto was from heaven).
You bring sand from the beach to the lodge, nothing to do :)
We enjoyed everything about the property. Rooms were great. Location was perfect. Most of the staff were good, there were some that seemed like didn't want to be there, but overall good experience.
Beds were very uncomfortable. Definitely need to upgrade the beds to something nicer for the price that is being charged for the rooms. Dinner service was great, breakfast lacked attention. Some staff were very good and attentive and others not so much. We took a boat trip to Caye Arena--and while we paid the VIP $320.00 price-the boat captain gave away our food and drinks to others without asking--that was unacceptable.
It was my 4th time there, the beach, the pool, and the rooms were as always wonderful, dinner BBQ at the beach on Saturdays as well.
We checked in at 3:30 pm and wanted to have a bit to eat as we had a 2.5-hour drive but the restaurant was not attending because they had to get ready for dinner, there was nothing to eat and there was nothing close by to go out to, we had to beg the waiter and then hey except to make us some sandwiches, in there sing kitchen closes at 4 pm. After lunch went to the room to get ready for the beach and went to get towels but we were told they didn't have beach towels available to cum back in 20 minutes, We came back in 2 hours and still no towels, The next day the same thing, we had to use our room towels to get dry and finally at dinner we ordered and had to wait 1 hour for food because waiter made mistake and gave our food to another table ??♂️??♂️. It was stressful with all these things that never happened on previous visits. At least I think he was the manager Fernando apologized and tried to make our night better.
Friendly staff, tranquil setting, lovely beach
Disappointing food in general
Friendly staff, ocean front cabins. Great service over all.
They will charge you extra for any special request you have, no matter how small.
Property is cosy and well maintained. All the cabins just a couple steps to the beach. Also the staff was always welcoming and looking for anything to make your stay exceptional. The staff change set up for the restaurant around the pool for a very romantic and unforgettable dinner, no just to mention that even special arrangements can be made to set up special dinner at the beach dock under the stars. Food was excellent and varied, from very local dishes to typical international recipes to please all kind of tastes and persons. Special thanks to the staff - Ruth, Cridania, Danger, Fernando, Edwin, Alexander & Melvin (Sancocho’s chef). See you guys very soon.!!
Amazing location with beautiful beach area. Great staff with good onsite restaurant with good choice of breakfast and dinner.
Bit overpriced for the luxury you get. Rooms are not well kept and beds are for sure not well kept. They are average and manageable but you are expecting luxury facility in terms of your room it is not.
