Hôtel Château Cléry

Charming, quiet, slightly idiosyncratic hotel conveniently 30 minutes the other side of Channel.

Electric car charger a bit closer to the hotel - works but in middle of woods...

Booked a suite which was spacious and clean. Good location for an overnight stop for our longer trip. Great breakfast.

Nice and comfortable room in the main building. excellent dinner and very good breakfast.

The staff on Sunday were not welcoming or helpful the girl went out to smoke with a man every half hour not at reception when we arrived and the bar was not manned when we went for drink. Disappointing not restaurant open on Sunday after a long drive no snacks in the bar. The staff on Monday were excellent friendly helpful and efficient . A big difference.

The dinner in the restaurant was very good.Hardly any staff around.Our room was very small with 2 big dogs but I was told the hotel was full so could not change.........I noted the car park was half empty and dining room half full.Room was not clean there was mo shower save a hand held thing so water everywhere!

Room cleaner and was given small room when I asked for bigger,Having previously stayed at Clery over 7 times I was disappointed.Dogs not allowed in bar area. Used to be and dogs are welcome ay other Najeti hotels and some even in dining room.No beds, water bowls or treats for the dogs

The restaurant was closed at the time, but it was hardly surprising as it was low season - January

A lot of lighting coming in from the outside lamps in the room, half of the main courses not available in the restaurant, despite early dinner booking, could not imagine staying for a week

A beautifull old building with a lot of charm. Comfortable bedroom with a lot of space. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner and enjoyed the delicious food. The chef knew in advance that my husband could not eat gluten and accomodated his needs. A really enjoyable stay.

Room 22 could have more light. It was a little too dark but agreable.

Staff were really nice. Good parking and location

Room was cold on arrival. Food was mediocre and expensive. The sea bass dish was cold even though served on a warm plate. In fact the plate was warmer than the food! Shower was ridiculous and hung over a bath which leaked water all over bathroom due to its design

We were staying just for one night having arrived early evening on Le Shuttle with our dogThe room dinner, breakfast and friendliness of the hotel was a lovely welcome to France would definitely re-book.

Room was comfortable. There was a good choice for breakfast and the dinner was excellent.

We stayed in one of the other buildings, the rooms were large, bed comfortable and great bathroom.Food and alcohol were excellent. Set menu was reasonably priced but the alcohol was expensive.We would go back again

Rooms in the chateau were all full so housed in the modern outside facilitiesThe grounds were in need of some attention as pathway from chateau to room were wet and muddy

Dinner at night was dismal, The steak was nearly inedible which was strange as the last time we stayed dinner was great.

Internet issues

Hotel is pleasant and in a quiet residential area...but you definitely need a car to get around as it is about 10 minutes drive to main city.

The bedroom was very dated, could do with an update...bit of an old odour lingering in room.The toilet was separate from the bathroom, so you had to come out of the toilet and go into the other room.Although the bedding was clean, I was itching during the night, so don't know whether the duvet or mattress could do with a good clean.Breakfast was disappointing, would have liked more of a hot buffet. When asked for fried eggs, hotel couldn't accomodate.The water dispensor to get water for tea was very luke warm..Dinner was good, but charging 16 euros for 2 prawns was a bit expensive for a starter.Chicken was lukewarm...but the dessert was good.Towels were not replenished the next day.We arrived at hotel at 3pm..but Check in is at 4pm..so had to wait around for an hour.Staff were all pleasant.

The way Bookings.com forced us to cancel whole booking to cancel one room. I was then not able to re-book same deal. The latency in the bookings. com system is too long
