Pros +
- High end property; off season so was rather quiet. Hotel beach was also closed but very close to the beach and any number of exits to the beach were nearby BTW - I am Marion from Oakville, Ontario, not Norfolk, CT
- It was clean, decorated for the holidays and very festive, breakfast was delicious, and it was in a great location. We'd definitely love to stay here again.
- Gorgeous hotel. Perhaps the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. Vet good Devi e from a warm and friendly staff
Cons -
- Indoor pool was drained; no hot tub; hotel was about 2.5 km from the conference hotel but we had a car so this was not an issue. BTW - we were directed to the sister hotel Savoy, not the Esplanade - restaurant was closed at Esplanade.
- We were pleasantly surprised when we walked through the hotel doors and enjoyed our stay very much.
- You have to go next door to the sister property for dinner and breakfast. But it was no big deal.

Wonderful friendly and professional staff! Truly amazing breakfast next door at the Savoy - incredible selection and excellent freshness, delightful options. Esplanade property was beautiful and eclectic - so fun to explore the large common area. Room had a very comfortable bed and a very spacious well appointed bathroom which felt luxurious. It was off season so extremely quiet and a super good deal. Perfect location for seeing Paestum and a day trip to Salerno.
Such a lovely hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were all so attentive. The ambiance is classy yet cozy and clean, it was truly something special. One night we went down to the lobby bar and ordered two cocktails - a hugo spritz and an old fashioned- both were the best we have ever had. The bartender spent about 10 minutes crafting the cocktails, thoroughly muddling ingredients in front of us. We also had some of the best bar snacks I have ever eaten while sipping on these delightful drinks also. Everything is carefully curated and has the charm that big chain hotels lack. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in by far.
The hotel was actually winding down for the season (this was November) and it was uncharacteristically nearly empty. There were no other events occurring during our stay, and few other guests. The rooms were perfect, bed comfy, and the decor high class. The bathroom was very nice and the amenities were high class. The cactus garden in the back (adjacent to the event space) was gorgeous! The common areas of the hotel were also beautiful. I know that it's a great place for weddings etc., and I'm not sure how available these areas are during events to non-event guests. But for us, this late in the season, it could not have been nicer.
Nothing to suggest.
Beautiful hotel with smart rooms, a beautiful garden and large swimming pool. And the staff was very kind and helpful, arranging a garage we could go to (on a public holiday) to fix a flat tyre. And of course: a perfect spot from which to visit the stunning ruins of Paestum.
Everything was perfect.
The service and staff were great - very friendly and helpful (as was the owners!). The hotel is beautiful and the common areas are nicely decorated. It is spotless clean and very comfortable. A real boutique hotel!
The location wasn’t ideal at that time of the year it’s located on a long beach and everything was still shut down when we visited (Easter holidays - April) so, even if the weather had been good (which unfortunately wasn’t the case) we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it. And we had to take the car every time we wanted to have a meal.
Nice and clean facilities. Comfortable bed.The Spa is not for free use of hotel guests. Cost is 50€ per person for 150 min use of the spa. This should be highlighted more transparently as I expect differently from a „spa hotel“.We were there in April for Easter and no sunbeds were provided in the pool area, bar was closed and very little choice in the breakfast buffet (off season I guess)
The area itself isn’t fancy at all but the draw is Paestum ruins. The hotel is lovely - very nicely renovated with gorgeous sitting areas and very nice rooms. Great amenities also. The two downsides were that they have frequent events here it seems, and that can be loud with guests banging doors late at night, music etc. While the breakfast is nice, the offer of eggs was a bit underwhelming. The scrambled eggs seemed like they had been cooked earlier but left to heat under a lamp or in the oven and were hard and rubbery. That was disappointing. But the staff were all very helpful and friendly.
It was in fine condition and the staff was very accommodating. The bikes at the Savoy was a nice touch
Staff was excellent, amenities were great. We spent 3 days there and enjoyed the luxury of a quiet break. Limited food selection but very good quality. Beautiful gardens and a nice outside area.
As we didn't have a car we needed a cab to get anywhere and it was a flat rate of 15 or 20 Euros each time out. Outside of walking to the beach there is nothing really around the property.
Hotel looks exactly like in the photos, such beautiful design, attention in each small detail . The gardens are beautiful and super well maintained, the staff very friendly and nice; breakfast with fresh local products and big variety.
We spent a wonderful eight days with my daughter. Very pleased with the services we received, the individual approach and care for each guest, the kindness and willingness to meet the requests and needs of the guests. Top hygiene in all hotel facilities (the restaurant, rooms, pool and common public areas). Excellent food and service in the restaurant (of the hotel and of the neighboring sister hotel Savoy where dinner was served if the hotel restaurant was not open). Through local specialties and wines, we got to know Italy and the Campania region better. The organization of weddings in the hotel gave an additional charm, I mention this because the majority of comments refer to this very thing. The music of the wedding celebrations was not loud, and the time of rest was observed. The hotel's beach bar 93 also offer free sunbeds with umbrellas, bottled drinking water and towels, with the option of a light meal on the beach or lunch in the restaurant. You can use bikes for free to explore the surroundings and the nearby amazing archaeological site in Paestum.Boat tour to Amalfi Coast from Salerno highly recommended :)
Something that could be improved is the connection from and to the train station in Paestum which is no more than 2 km away. Taxi services are more expensive for those two kilometers than the journey itself to the nearest cities (Salerno, Naples). Maybe arrange a shuttle bus?
Beautifully decorated, great facilities, lovely staff
Minor points, electric sockets by the bed, better WiFi signal, no hair conditioner
The hotel is amazing and so beautiful. The staff are really nice and they are willing to help you in anything you need.
There was a private event at the pool so we could not use it. For the price you pay to stay here, this is not acceptable. Also, I think the breakfast does not offer so many options as it should.
The staff were very nice and helpful, lovely room, good location and great pool.
Very nice hotel near the ruins of Paestum. Excellent facilities, helpful staff, wonderful pool and gardens, incredibly clean surroundings and fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Room very comfortable and quiet.
nothing to complain
Nice hotel, however very noisy from outside wedding band and guests banging their doors shut.
The lock on the door broke and I was unable to get into the room for about an hour. Staff seemed confused as to what to do to repair lock so the door would open.
Definitely may recommend. Hotel inside and its territory are extremely beautiful and very well cared. Service is top, has a personal touch. Plus hotel has a beach with nice cabanas and sun beds, towels and water are nicely provided free of charge. Would like to be back one day.
