    Pros +

    • Very authentic 13th century structure and the town itself is very charming. The owner, is laid back and friendly. We were comfortable and I wouldn't change a thing...why visit an old remote town in Tuscany and stay in a cookie cutter hotel?
    • This incredible property was built in the late 1300’s and is full of history and wonderful original features that cannot be missed. Claudia is who makes Borgo La Grancia! She teaches you how to relax but is also a wealth of information about fabulous places to visit, including the handy shops and restaurants right in Montisi. Our first night she gave us a list and an incredible booklet that her father created. There are hand drawn maps, all the information you need, or, if need be, a WhatsApp message to Claudia answers any question. Also, the pool is perfect on a hot day! We hope to return!
    • EVERYTHING!! Montisi is a wonderful little village that I had been to previously and was excited to visit again. I was surprised at how large the apartment was. The location was perfect. The pool (and the view from the pool) was amazing. The hosts were super nice and attentive.

    Cons -

    • This isn't a negative, but simply a misunderstanding on my part. Take note this is an apartment style room, not a hotel. Don't expect breakfast.
    • There is nothing I didn’t like about Borgo La Grancia!
    • Nothing. It was perfect.

The outdoor area and pool are beautiful. The vistas are beautiful and quiet. Our terrace was a super spot to have a early evening cocktail and relax. The rooms were spacious and having AC and window screens were great. I love how the old aspects of the property are preserved and I appreciate this aspect.

Not really the responsibility of the owner and more a whole village issue is the weak Wi-Fi. Here’s hoping new lines are coming.

The location of the property is exceptional. Montisi is a beautiful little Tuscan village on the top of a hill, providing stunning views from the terrace and pool. The property drips with history and the old courtyards and terraces are beautiful. The pool is a decent size and we used it every afternoon after a day of exploring. The 4-bed apartment is very generous in size (travelled with two small children) and the beds were very comfortable. It’s also great base to explore numerous towns and villages in Tuscany.

Some of the fittings and appliances could do with an update. We cooked some of our own meals and found the kitchen items (pans, plates, etc) and appliances (eg oven) need updating/replacing.

I have stayed in many beautiful places in every region of Italy including the remote ones but this one was really special with so much history (so many interesting stories!). We felt privileged to be able to learn about all the history, thanks to the owner. Needless to say the pool was great, and our room was very comfortable and spacious. Montisi was a very nice and authentic village to explore, truly charming and well lived in, definitely one of the best in Tuscany!

the location was fabulous, the table tennis table and the pool excellent, the cooking area rather tiny, parking fine, and views tremendous!

rather more work space and a few more lavatory rolls

This is a special property. We not only booked a beautiful apartment in Tuscany with a pool to dip in and out of - we got to stay in a sort of a castle complex that dates back to at least the 1290's. The grounds are also incredible with a terraced garden and views of a Tuscan valley to look at all day. And not to mention the property sits at one end of Montisi village which is also a unique and beautiful town. We also extended our stay by 3 days we loved it so much. Claudia was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful for our entire 10 day stay; helped to recommend special restaurants to us and even showed us around the oldest parts of the castle.

    We loved everything.

The property is old and beautiful, a litlle castle like. There is a smallish but clean & nice pool. The location is nice in the village of Montisi. Parking is convenient.

I didn’t realize when I booked, that our apartment was the only one in this property that didn’t have air conditioning. There was only an old fan. The apartment was uncomfortable due to this. we had to keep windows closed and curtains down all the time to try to keep heat out. Thus the apartment was very dark. The sofa & arm chairs in the living room were quite old - stained & not comfortable to sit in. All in all the apartment itself was not a great experience.

We loved the location, its history, and family lineage. We arrived to the town as it was having a festival, and had everthing we needed in walking distance. Communication was excellent with the property, and it also felt very private.

Becasue my cellphone didnt recieve signal in the room, my only complaint was the internet was very weak. For half the stay we couldn't receive the signal, but later found it while sitting in the kitchen. Not a problem in the end.

The apartment was tidy and comfortable. Moreover, the whole building with its historical heritage, the garden with amazing view were just astonishing and I can't imagine better place to stay in Tuscany. Thank you!

The garden, pool and views are breathtaking. The village is cute and has everything from a small alimentari to great restaurants.
