staff close to big supermarket
The Sauna was fine and there were three different types of sauna rooms. But as German sauna is always gender-mixed, the changing room was only one. But it was okay because there were only me an my mom. Additionally, the staffs were super friendly.
The hotel location was very close to the airport, very friendly staff, room was very clean as well as bathroom. Condition of bathroom was excellent. Very comftable bed. I absolutely love this hotel and definitely be back as well as all my friends. :}}}

Top Tips
- Book Dresden hotels 3 to 6 months ahead for major events like Striezelmarkt, which draws over 2 million visitors. Rates often rise 20-50% and hotels fill quickly during such periods. Set a price alert for your travel dates to monitor deals if your plans are flexible.
- Check your final bill for a Beherbergungssteuer or Kurtaxe charge of €2-€5 (approx. $2 to $5 USD) per person per night; most leisure stays at all hotel tiers require this tax, while business travelers with proof are generally exempt.
- All hotels require official photo ID at check-in - passport (non-EU) or national ID (EU) - for Germany's Meldepflicht law. Major chains and boutique properties both enforce this regulation.
- Explore Dresden using DVB’s citywide trams and buses; purchase 24- or 72-hour group passes from machines or the DVB app (not from drivers). Routes connect central hotels to Old Town in about 15 minutes and provide airport access.
- Quiet hours (Nachtruhe) from 22:00 to 06:00 are enforced in Dresden hotels, including major brands like NH Collection and Hilton, to ensure guest comfort. Smoking is rarely allowed indoors - request a smoking room in advance if needed.
- Tip 5-10% or round up for strong restaurant service; in 4- and 5-star hotels, €1-€3 (approx. $1 to $3 USD) per bag for porters is customary. Add tips discreetly rather than leaving coins on the table.
- Greeting hotel staff with phrases like 'Guten Tag' and 'Danke' is appreciated; most properties offer English-language guides and multilingual service, but using a German phrase helps enhance your experience.
- Central Dresden hotels have limited onsite or partner parking, with rates often €15-€25 daily (approx. $15 to $25 USD). Reserve a parking spot in advance via the hotel website or kiosk, especially during busy event periods.
- Hotel receptions frequently arrange Semperoper tickets or Elbe river cruises. Desk staff at properties like Steigenberger and Maritim can check availability for Saxon Switzerland day trips and advise best departure times.
- Request a courtyard or upper-floor room if sensitive to noise; Elbe-facing and Neustadt-area streets can be lively until late. Specify your preference when booking, especially at hotels near Theaterplatz.
- Store valuables in your room safe or, for higher value items, at the front desk safe. While pickpocketing risk is low in central Dresden, extra caution is advised in crowded tourist zones and on trams.
- Germany uses Type F two-pin 230V outlets; bring a Schuko adapter for laptops or phones. Top hotels may provide USB plugs, but pack an adapter to ensure compatibility with all devices.
- Notify your hotel in advance if you need an accessible room, late arrival, family room, hypoallergenic bedding, or have pet needs; Dresden properties including Ibis and Holiday Inn can often arrange these if contacted before your stay.
