Pros +
- Easy Check-in: There are no keys, you get a 6-digit code for the front and room doors (but if you mistype 3 times you have to wait 1 minute). There is a place in the hallway where one could make tea coffee.Easy access and parking. Very little street noise.
- Mar Hotel, MarburgAfter 18 hours of travel, I was greeted by the happiest welcome committee (aka the owner and his young son) and the quickest check-in process ever. The area is so peaceful it could double as a meditation retreat.
- It was a very comfortable stay and I liked the aesthetics of the place and how clean everything was. Also being able to access hot water for a cup of tea or coffee and a healthy bite of an apple was a plus.
Cons -
- Overall a “bare bones” setup (there is no place to relax in the rooms other than the bed). Floors are tiled and very cold (there are shoes / sandals provided). Minimum number of towels (no shower rug). Walls are thin, you can hear the neighbors. I was irritated by the dripping sound from the metal window boards during the night and had to sleep with ear plugs.
- Nothing i can think of
- The only thing is the location, it is a bit far away from the center of Marburg and especially if you have a lot of luggage it can be cumbersome. Also no direction of the location once you get of the bus stop. Apart from that the place was excellent.

Easy Check-in via rooms Code. Tea and refreshments in the Common area. Quiet, green area. A Bus Stop to Marburg is closeby.
I liked the nice room: clean, comfortable bed, good internet. Quiet surroundings.
I did not like that there was nobody at the reception when I arrived. If my phone had no internet or if the battery was empty, then I had no idea what I would have done.
Very clean and well located properly! Huge bathroom with spacious shower and very comfy bed! Free cookies and tea at the hall 24h.
Thin walls...the hotel has many long terms students living in it, I could hear people having sex from both sides! Good for them, I guess! Also, the reception is not 24h, I arrived at 10pm and had to call international from my mobile for someone to open the main door for me.
It had so quiet environment. It was nice and comfortable and there was no distracting.
I want to say that everything was good. But I paid almost £80 just to sleep, It only was less than 24 hours. There was not water in this room and nothing to eat. I saw some piece of biscuit and there were a lot of fresh and juicy apples but there were not enough.
Great bed. Sleek room. Free cooled water, juices and beer were in a small kitchen niche communal fridge accessible by all guests. We could also put things in the fridge to keep them cool.Staff was on call, but as soon as they arrived they added good parking for us, since we are handicapped that helped very much.
The following I mention because I have a fragrance allergy: There was a very strong cologne or perfume type smell outside in the corridor and in front room. The doors to the room were very well insulated, so that the resulting smell was highly diminished in the room itself with the door closed.
Friendly check in, clean rooms, small and new hotel with cosy atmosphere
the location was a bit far from where we needed to go, but it was surrounded by forests and it was enjoyable for walks breathing fresh air
