The setting, the cleanliness, the food, the service - all superb.Lovely swimming pool and changing/shower rooms.Breakfast was a well presented and varied buffet. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, beautifully presented and always with polite and friendly service.

The aircon (room 23) has an annoying clicking sound periodically.

Beautiful setting with excellent staff. Little village of Oggibbio is very nice. View from Room 1 is amazing. Huge bathroom. Grounds are very nice. Wonderful breakfast. Dinner was good if a bit pricey.

Everything is a climb to this premium property . No elevator. No level on site parking. We parked in free church lot that meant 50m walk up cobblestones then up two floors to room. Even drive up to parking lot is typical narrow road 1/4 mile...only had a few "back downs" over 4 night stay.

    View, garden, pool, dinner, breakfast

Air conditioning had a defect which caused a lot of noise - even when turned off - and had not been fixed during the whole stay. Rooms should be cleaner in the more hidden corners.

Where to start? The online photos don’t do the property justice! The grounds are spectacularly beautiful and perfectly maintained. We traveled with three small children, two of whom explored the various nooks (possibly to the chagrin of the staff?) and they loved it. The pool is gorgeous and refreshing. The food was otherworldly good. We were reluctant to eat dinner at the hotel because we wanted to explore, but we were thrilled that we had our last meal here. In addition to the dinner being delicious, they have a kids menu too, which is pretty unique in Italy and very thoughtful. The staff also made sure that the kids’ food came out first. We loved having a pre dinner aperitivo after a long day of exploring Lake Maggiore. I expected the room itself to be smaller, but it was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. And the views!OMG. Seriously, this place is a gem and might be one of my favorite hotels that I have ever stayed in!

Inhibe no critiques of the hotel, but keep in mind that Oggebbio is VERY small. There is a small cafe with limited food options and a small, albeit cute, bottega (grocery store). The hotel is also on a hill with a number of steep switchbacks, so walking and driving can be tricky. Also, the beauty of this hotel is that it is a small, family run place, but that also means that the kitchen is small, so you have to be patient. The staff were very transparent about this and we were in no rush, but it is something to be aware of.

Very nice property restored with an increadible eye for detail. The garden and pool are beautifully kept and very seductive to lounge in, weather permitting. The lake view from our room was stunning. The staff most attentive and heplful. We will return, and we definatley recommend. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

The lighting in our bathroom (Room 1) was quite basic/general and my wife would have appreciated a make-up mirror & lighting. But she survived ;-)

Nicely located, it’s clean and the garden is beautiful. Nice views on the lake

The gentlemen at the reception is a disgrace. You may be a 3 star hotel, but the staff at reception is not up to the standard. Very rude and started to yell at me when asking questions about the bill (booking.com made a mistake : the breakfasts were in fact not included), and be sure to arrive before 8pm for the check-in. Or you will have the surprise of a 50 euros fee which is not disclosed anywhere on the booking, and the staff will be rude to you during your stay as a retaliation. To me, the extra cost is a fraud and the overall experience is basically ruined. You end up paying 60+50 euros on top so +30% on the bill…the guy at reception finds it normal. Good for you! Frankly they are better valued options around with the same views on the lake and no hidden fees. And the receptionist won’t shout no insult you :-)

Great place overall. Lovely people, super nice rooms, very nice installations and a great restaurant/ breakfast buffet.

Wow, stunning location. Views from our room were some of the best I've seen, great sunrise too over the lake.Friendly staff, felt like staying at a friends house with staff who'd care.Had a nice little lunch, amazing dinner in their restaurant and an enjoyable breakfast. There's little around in the town from what we saw, we had a stroll in the evening and the hotel is very secure (locked gates with a card you can use), but the hotel has everything you need including a lovely (but cold) pool!We arrived a little early, which was handy since the car park only holds about 6 cars but there's lots of public parking close by.Will stay again.

Very minor: But the walk from the car park with suitcases on a hot day is a killer, loads of steps! But a cold beer helped once we'd arrived! Also, communication from the hotel was a little slow weeks before we arrived when I asked about parking, I had to ask 3 times, but as it happens there is a small car park at the lower level of the hotel, but a big public car park next to that, so loads of parking!

Fantastic location with fantastic views across the lake from our room, with a balcony over the lake Room and hotel were superbly equipped , clean, classy but had character. Very helpful and friendly staff, many thanks! Breakfast offers high quality food and drinks The location has a private parking with electric car charging point on spotSimply one of the best places in Lago Maggiore!

The views from our room were amazing. Lovely quiet position. Lovely fresh buffet breakfasts, tasted even nicer sitting outside on the terrace. Great pool with shower and WC facilities.

Limited dinner menu and quite expensive

Stunning location in the hills overlooking Lake Maggiore. Wonderful friendly hosts. We stayed in two rooms, both with a view over the lake and both of which we loved. The breakfast was exceptional, with lovely fresh eggs, delicious meats, cheeses, fruits, pastries and jams. The pool area was superb and super relaxing - so nice to sip away an Aperol in the sun while reading a book or simply watching the clouds float past. The general ambiance was top notch and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The dinner at the lovely restaurant was 5 star and overall we couldn't have wished for a better or more idillic stay. Highly, highly recommended.

Rooms were very bright in the morning and the air con was a bit hit and miss, but really not a deal breaker.

    8ChristianPosted on: 8-28-2023

Nice location with good view to the lake from restaurant.

Do not book a room without Lake View or Balcony, otherwise you will get a very small poor room without any view.
