Pros +
- We got the luxury suite instead of the family room, it was huge! Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the swimming pool was a nice addition, nice breakfast, safe garage for the car. In short , a comfortable, easy and overall good value for money hotel on the road to the french border. We will come back!
- We were hiking the Via Francigena and wanted a place near the path - this was it! The property is older but well maintained and is across the street from the lake; we had a large balcony to enjoy the view. Also, there are numerous restaurants nearby (we ate dinner directly across the street). Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional - many meats, cheeses, pastries, etc. to choose from, as well a a cook for things like omelettes. Very good!
- Nice view of the lake. The restaurant (across the street) was surprisingly good. Nice continental breakfast in the morning.
Cons -
- Maybe it could have been cleaner, but acceptable overall
- My phone charger stopped working after having it plugged in over night. Not sure if there was an electrical surge?
- WIFI solo in reception

The Hotel is close to the lake and the restaurant is on right on the shore. I got a delicious omelette for my breakfast. Good to have a balcony good to dry my washed pilgrim clothes.
The WiFi reception in my room wasn’t good enough to be stable. Down near the lobby it was fine.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and clean.
There was no AC in the room, which was a big problem in the middle of the summer...
À beautiful lake view, well situated, comfortable, swimming pool, nice breakfast, great value for money
We loved the traditional charm of the hotel and the very friendly welcome from the older lady on reception and the two men who served us in turn at breakfast. The swimming pool was lovely, very quiet considering it was peak season. We loved the breakfast, the omelette especially was lovely!
My only complaint was a few nights of noise until early hours coming from a nearby bar, not the hotels fault but did effect sleep on those nights.
The junior suite was way bigger than we expected. More like a nice spacious 3BR 1.5 bath apartment with a beautiful view of viverone lake. Sauna was new and worked great. Loved the window darkness for sleeping in. Never used the jacuzzi in bedroom because it looked a little dated and no exhaust fan. The breakfast was always plentiful with delicious cakes. The man and older woman at the check in were very friendly and kind when we needed something. The cleaning staff was exceptional as well.
We had a litte bit of an ant issue but it was treated right away. We wish the .5 purple bath was full and had an actual space for toilet paper. Both bathrooms could've used an additional shelf for towels and toiletries. Kitchen wasn't fully equipped with knives or proper microwave dishes and other utensils at first, but the man at the front desk came to make things right immediately. Microwave was dated. Pool towels would've been nicer than using our bath towels from our room. Pool liner can use an upgrade. Wi-fi was very spotty.
The pool and the location
The air conditioning wasn't great
The room was a large family room. Clean roomAccess to a pool and to local restaurants
No bar for a drink given it is a hotel. Hand held shower above the bath only. Hairdryer was old and fixed to the wall in the bathroom. No mirror in the bedroom. Needs a new bedcover rather than a dark brown bedspread.
Friendly, no frills, family run right by lake.
Room was excellent and well kept. Shower could use grab bars for us senior citizens to get in and out as bottom surface did not have anti-slip protection.Staff was excellent.
Swimming pool, a little on the dirty side. Also last step going in is a long way down, could use some indication. , Hydromassage, almost impossible for a senior citizen to get in safely.
Great location overlooking the lake. Good sized room with plenty of space. Very friendly.
Very nice staff, a was offered a cappuccino for free because I didn’t have cash with me. You can see that they are caring to host best the customers.
We have been stopping at this hotel for years on our way from England to our place in Canino. It is a relaxing place after so much motorway driving. It’s calm. It’s always there. It’s home.
This is a special place, it is what it is. Nothing not to like.
The hotel is delightfully located on the lake. The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The hotel was clean, neat and tidy.
Generally it was OK. The swimming pool was turning green which was unfortunate because we fancied a swim. Some of the staff at breakfast looked like they had just fallen out of bed.
Nice views of the lake
Very datedPoor breakfast The swimming pool looked very dirty which is off putting for the property in general
Room was large and spacious, but a little tired in decor. Breakfast was better than most hotels I have stayed in Italy. Location was superb!
The reception staff and breakfast staff (the same) were a little miserable.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The location is fantastic and we had a lake view!
Hard to say but maybe a small kettle in the room to have a cup of tea in the morning. The restaurant did open at 07.15 so wasn't a big issue.
