Pros +
- Great location with great room, food, view when dining, staff is very nice and always welcoming. Great area as well, not far from Bergamo if you wish to visit. Great house wine.
- This is our 2nd stay. We chose a better room this time. Excellent, spacious & very, very clean. Our favourite point is the heated pool, sauna room at the end of the day - open until 8pm.Then we had dinner.
- I really loved everything about the stay. Top service, amazing location, great pool and SPA.
Cons -
- All good.
- Breakfast was tasty but I think it could have more options. SPA pool could have been slightly warmer.
- There are no umbrellas by the pool, making it difficult to find shade during the hot daytime hours if you wish to lounge by the pool. The breakfast is exceptional by Italian standards, featuring house-made bread and an abundance of fresh produce, though the egg dishes are surprisingly disappointing. This is particularly unfortunate given the hotel’s outstanding fine dining restaurant with its talented chefs. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel is an exquisite destination well worth the trip.

Absolutely amazing property. Great restaurants, bar, endless views and little hideaways. Amazing and helpful staff. 110% recommend to stay.

The setting was beautiful and the resort was luxurious.
We really don’t have anything bad to say about the facility. We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t use the outdoor pool on the second day but that was certainly a minor inconvenience. We were able to use it the day before.
A relais full of charme in a beautiful landscape Helpful staffFine dining
Maybe the music was too loud in the bar until late hours during the weekend, but I understand somebody may like to party ...I was here almost twenty years ago and had a recollection of a higher level of restaurant, today is fine but not special
A staff member stole my watch from my room
I got my watch stolen by a member of the hotel. Even though the police managed to catch the thieve and recovered the watch, this infortunate event ruined our vacation. Very poor customer orientation by the hotel management, we were not offered neither a glass of water nor any kind of simpathy until next day. We had to go to the police station by ourselves with the language problem, obvious for everyone. If you have a problem in this hotel, good luck with that.
Stunning gardens, buildings and view of Lake Iseo. Spa staff and treatments were first class. Lovely pool and surrounding area for sunbathing. Housekeepers, bar/restaurant staff (with one exception), sommelier (truly excellent) reception and gym staff were all delightful and super helpful.
Food options - breakfast was included in our room rare. It was good but has limited choices and you have to pay for eggs, bacon, omelette etc. which we would not expect in a 5 star hotel. The main restaurant food was excellent but very expensive, the pizza restaurant only does pizza and has limited evening opening times and the bar menu is very limited, leaving few options to eat in the hotel during the day or for a light supper in the evening. I should add that we didn’t have a car and private transfers (there are no taxis and the hotel is pretty remote) were very expensive and made going out for lunch or dinner prohibitively expensive. To give a sense of the cost it was 75 euros EACH WAY to the ferry in Sulzano to visit Monte Isola. I would strongly advise people to have a car if they visit this hotel. Not being able to order drinks or food by the pool. We were made to feel very uncomfortable by a restaurant manager when we asked to have a pre-dinner drink in the restaurant bar one evening instead of the main bar for a change of scene. He was rude and basically didn’t want to serve us and tried to send us back to the bar. The gardens are stunning and most of the grounds are completely under utilised for guests to eat or drink in which is such a missed opportunity.
Comfortable and good service
The food is not at the standard of the hotel. Especially breakfast is very disappointing. No variety at all, long time waiting for service.
The staff were lovely and so accommodating with my 10 month old baby.
Drinks at the pool would have been nice.
Beautiful location. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with fabulous views.
Location staff location
Breakfast staff wasn’t nice nor kind not the standard of the amazing staff @reception, the staff @restaurant was okay but never the standard of front desk
The ambient was so comfortable. Has a lot of recreational space. And the spa is fashionable.
The time we where there its not the best time of the year.
location and room
terrible service , poor breakfast,
I was on a frenetic family road trip with two dogs. We had chosen l"Albereta because I knew it was calm and had lovely gardens in a tranquil setting. The grounds are exceptional, set as they are against a lovely vineyard from the Bellavista winery. So there were plenty of long wooded walks and exploration of the sculpture park. However top marks go to the restaurant, which I remembered being good, but proved to be absolutely exceptional. The chef really knows what he is doing and gave us fairly classic dishes, but with really inventive twists. We are still debating our favourite dishes. Mine was probably the strawberry gazpacho with purple prawns - I was pretty dubious at the combination but it was fabulous - something different kicked in after every mouthful. And I loved the clam risotto, the incredible carrot starter, the red mullet.....and there were Dover soles, from Dover, which were enormous and cooked a la mugnaia. Greed certainly took over. The sommelier too was fantastic - really open and friendly and he introduced us to some incredible wines, including an orange Gewurtztraminer which was really special. And Kudos, too, to the pastry chef. We fortunately tried the rum baba which was up to the standard of Stohrer in Paris, which allegedly invented them ! The dogs too were treated very well, with individual pet beds, a fancy feeder and bowls and gift boxed gourmet Italian dog food, which looked delicious. Of course they didn't like it but that's a dog for you. My room had two small terraces which meant the dogs could wander.
There was only one small hitch and that was that the breakfast service was ...let's say confused. The food and ambiance were excellent; the individual waitresses were delightful and friendly and helpful, but the organisation of the whole left room for improvement.
Amazing location, beautifully maintained area. Friendly and helpful personnel. Great choice of wine at restaurant and in a bar!
Air conditioning which was not strong enough for the room. Probably it was really hot outside and our room was under the roof, nevertheless it wasn't comfortable even during the night.Quite scanty breakfast was included in price.
Loved everything!! Exceptional staff; Susanna, Lara, Simone, GIOVANNA & her colleague, and so many more!! Incredible people and awesome and fabulous in every way. We fell in love with them all <3
Grounds were beautiful, room was spacious, breakfast was excellent
Need to pay to use facilities such as the pool/gym and breakfast team wanting to charge extra for certain items unannounced
location, restaurants, services, staff
breakfast is really good but in my opinion I think you could offer more choices like waffles, crepes, and so on
Stepping into L’Albereta is entering a bubble of understated elegance. Nothing fancy, just pure Italian chic from the rooms, to the restaurants and the spa. No need to say service is as impeccable as it is lovely. And we particularly appreciated the personalized attention we got.We will definitely be back next year!
