Majestic Rio Palace Hotel

Very friendly & helpful staff! They spoke English very well, gave great directions, and exchange currency at the front desk. Hotel was about 3 blocks from beach.

The electricity of the room will only turn on once the room key is in the electric outlet. Cannot use lights, TV or air condition without the key in the slot. Bathroom sink, toilet & shower were stained in the inside like its old.

The smell was not too bad in the room and they would give me a cup of ice to take to the room for free

The many dustballs under the bed would blow in and out from the bed. But sheets with stains were changed quickly

Slow elevator, only two for more than ten floors.

The “luxury” room had exposed electrical wiring, a dirty bathroom, empty toiletry containers and hairs from previous occupants. We asked to change rooms but reception were very dismissive and just offered us a refund with no place to stay. Avoid like the plague.

Beds were nice and comfy, nice big and clean shower

There are too many guests for the breakfast room. Waiting in line in the morning is not something you want. I had to pay 20 EUR more than the price that was mentioned on the booking. Also, I found fleas on my pillow...

Position. Swimming pool in the rooftop, small but ok. I didn't use it. Staff good. Gym ok but small as well.

The bed was terrible, very noisy if you move. They should remove the word Majestic from the name. Room quite old.Breakfast quite poor, acceptable. It needs to be renewed a bit.

The staff, location and room was clean and big.

The restroom was too much noisy, never happened to me before. Every time someone from other rooms uses the restroom was a 1 min extremely noise.

The pool and breakfast was good

The pool smelt sometimes bar by pool was closed and the elevators go down when you want to go up

The elevator is very slow for the number of floors it has. Breakfast is quite small and with little variety.Very expensive for what is a hotel even if it is in the carnival season.

The location 10 min walk from Copacabana beach and close to the restaurants.

The beds are not confortable.The bath towels are very old and used.The room was not cleaned well, hairs on the floor, and i had an electric outled near my head while on the bed who was very dirty.Most of the rooms are around the elevator and we can hear all the voices of people using it, laughing and somtimes shouting, since the rooms are not well soundproofed

Nothing. Everything was awful. It is not 3 star, it is 1 star oldfashioned hotel with tiny room for extremely high price. I payed 450 usd per room because there was big show in the city. Awful bedding, awful matresses etc.

The furniture should be completely replaced, the bathroom should be completely replaced. Everything is so old.

Close to copacabana and major bus lines, spacious room with amenities, good breakfast

Breakfast was very good. The location was ok too. Staff was great. They prepared us breakfast at 3 am to have before the marathon on Sunday.

We did not like the room. It was too small and with no windows

Breakfast was better than I expected. You have a variety of selections (we stayed for one week and it was hard not to get bored) which were really good, the personell was very kind and helpful, they seamed pleased to do whatever they could to make you feel at home. We have a 10 months child and even he was very happy to interact with them, they kept him very entertained smiling and playing with him when passing to do their work, and thus making a lot more peaceful breakfast for us. :) Not to mention the higiene measures you see them taking, they made us very relaxed seeing them like that regarding the food our baby ate. Honestly, I've stayed in a more fancier hotel on Copacabana and the breakfast wasn't that good. The only bad thing is that you don't have natural light.

The furniture in the room is quite old, but the beds are comfortable. Being so old, the room and the bathroom does not inflict a cleanness feeling, but the cleaning personell does what they can best with what they have.The elevators are also old, in breakfast time, when everybody uses them, your waiting time grows considerably, so take that into consideration when you wish for a higher floor.

Only stayed one night - arrived late and left early. Check-in very efficient and great room. Nice breakfast with lots of fresh fruit (unfortunately no mango) and, as you expect in Brazil, great coffee. Would definitely stay here again.

A bit away from the main drag of Avenida America and you probably need to be careful, especially at night. Take a taxi and limit your risks.

Very noisy, as the doors to the corridor have louvers, so every door closure, lift landing, guest passing by, conversations, vacuuming early in the morning can all be heard extremely well in the room - not possible to sleep! The deposit-box did not work.
