Real Palace Hotel

AC leaked all night, getting entire floor wet. Hotel staff did not care. Dirty brown water leaking down wall from toilet upstairs, old dried blood on bed sheets, Construction work 3 nights starting at 10 pm til about 4 am right outside my window. bugs

Stingy: they charge 30 Reals for safekeeping luggage before check-in (none of our other lodging in our journey charged this) & placed bottled waters in the room fridge that cost 8 Reals per bottle, which clients can inadvertently drink without knowing.

The staff was lovely and super accommodating especially considering I don’t speak portugese.

It was super loud and hard to sleep, unfortunately I was next to some loud kids who were up until 2 am screaming (not the fault of the hotel). They are doing work on the hotel and it started super early at like 7:30 am banging and drilling etc so I did not sleep well at all. Also the key card had an issue. The first room I got the toilet was not working properly (not a big deal and staff helped me quickly). But everything together made my stay not the best. It seems to be more of a family hotel not the best place for a young adult no kids. I was only staying for one night so it was ok.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location was convenient.

The photos look better than in reality. The gym is severely lacking and the equipment is in poor shape.

I liked that it was very close to a lot of shops and close to the beach, easy access to the metro station as well.

In our stay there was construction happening on our exact floor and there was a lot of noise, scrap and movement while we were there at times during the day.

Breakfast location and cost was good

Not very clean. Amenities were old. Stairwell was full of construction supplies that is clearly not being used and could definitely have been put away. Hotel is not investing properly in staff and upkeep of hotel.

Bad conditions of the building

Understaffed, rooms at very front of 24/7 street bar can’t sleep at night because of the noise. They offer breakfast but we ended up having breakfast at one bakery one block from the hotel Pâo and Company. Front desk understaffed good workers but overwhelmed.

1 windows are dirty they can improve that, i had a lovely tree i could not take clean pictures 2 it is not a Palace, it was in the seventies for sure, it needs carpentry at bathroom door and bed back , stains in courtains. It will be amazing some art , naked walls are sad . As i said it has potential 3 coordinate better cleaning service with guests many times you go back and it is not cleaned , but i had cold and i got a blanket. I will come back for sure

The sheets and some towels were stained and even smelled like they hadn't been dried properly.The breakfast was enough but the same every single day.

The location was great for what we wanted to do. Breakfast was not bad and had plenty of food. The room was nice and it was good to have A/C and be insulated from the noises of the street below.

Definitely had an element of faded glory. The sauna didn't work at all. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, with some strange things floating in it. The price was ridiculous for what we got, but I was there for carnival so it was to be expected.

Good breakfast. Nice room.

No laundry despite stated on website but ok as three laundrettes close by.

Really disappointed by the hotel for many reasons.The room was dirty (hair in the shower, sand on the floor...) despite a 4 days stay. Housekeeping had not been done prior to our arrival and during our stay.The shower was sometimes working, sometimes not. No laundry service provided. The button to go to the 13th floor inside the elevator was not working, we had to walk from the 12th one. Random beds stored in the staircase. We were promised a free upgrade that we never felt, seeing the layout of the bedroom. And we had to pay for water we drunk inside the bedroom at the end of our stay !The ratio value/price is disappointing and this hotel is definitely not worth Copacabana.

The rooms were newly renovated and very clean , air conditioning worked and breakfast was really nice with fresh fruits and quite varied. Location is great and the staff are very helpful! I would stay there again.

Breakfast was bland, fruits expired and fermented, no coffee maker in the room, the windows were not isolated so you can hear the street.
