Pros +
- excellent breakfast
- Lake view, east walk to main swim area, cafe and kids play area by the lake.
- Staff was really welcoming and kind, liked it a lot - both at the front desk and in the dining room.
Cons -
- poor choice for afternoon coffee, historic part of the hotel was only partially accessible
- Receptionist wasn’t too helpful when we checked in and asked about walks in local area ‘she only worked there and didn’t live in Meschede’, and we would have expected some knowledge of the locality. But probably a one off, and she wasn’t unfriendly.
- Although the bathroom was clean, the tiling in the bathroom really could use some renovation. The silicone is quite bad and aged.

The hotel is an old style but very cozy and welcoming and the location is just great, we had the Deluxe room with lake view and the view was just stunning. Good quality and variety of food at the breakfast so in overal I would say that this hotel is 100% worth the money.
Breakfast spread could have been improved. Location is awesome and rooms were comfy

Superb staff and excellent service. Being a vegetarian had choice of food. Catering staff went extra mile to serve me with vegetarian food
No coffee in the room
The locations was excellent directly at the Hennesee, modern rooms and excellent breakfast all morning. What more do you want.
Not really, but people should be aware that it is outside the town of Meschede.
There have enough choices for the breakfast, and the enrivoment is well, just didn't have enough time to enjoy the view of the nearby lake
The breakfast had a very large and high-quality offer, the location of the hotel is beautiful, next to the lake.
The hotel staff is not up to par. When we were checking in, some cheerful grandfather went overboard explaining how to unlock the room and the like, as if we were stupid and didn't know how to unlock the room. Good thing he didn't show us how to get into bed. Also, when checking out, there were some misunderstandings about issuing the bill, the elderly lady was not very accommodating and kept repeating Nein! Nein! so in the end we called the boss, who immediately resolved everything.
The location of the hotel was really nice but its not really a wheelchair friendly specially if you go on a lakeside. The staff were also friendly and helpful. They also granted my request of asking a small chair in the bath room. The hotel also gave us welcome drinks inside the room. The hotel restaurant location and food were ok. For the money that we pay for the food and location i can say its acceptable.
The hotel bed was not really cleaned properly. I saw one bug crawling in our bedsheets. And also if you look on the photo frames hanging on the wall inside the room were not cleaned on the sides and also the sides the tv. The cleaning staff should also focus cleaning on it. For 3days and 2 nights stay our towels in the bathroom were not replaced but they just only arranged our bedsheets and pillows on the bed. The location for travellers with no car is also ok because its near to the bus stop but then its hassle to travel because the bus going to the center town is every 1 hr. And also the access of sauna and the jacuzzi pool is not free they charged you 4 euro per day to use it. I hope the sauna and jacuzzi offer some free body scrub or body oil on it. The balcony view in the lake is ok but the walls on the balcony were too high so i didnt appreciate to sit on the balcony. You need to stand up in the balcony to view the lake and it would be nicer if they lower the wall in the balcony so you can sit on the chair while viewing the lake.

Diner overlooking the water, what else can you want! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot for outdoor activity, or just relaxing staring out over the water...
We liked the lake nearby and the view. The place offers a nice recreational time plus the possibility to enjoy some hikes in summer or rides with the boat. There's also a swimming pool, so it must be amazing to enjoy this facility as well when the weather is good. The nature around is overall very beautiful. The breakfast is buffet style and it is well prepared. The room was super nice and clean. We enjoyed so much!
The room was lovely and the location amazing. A very comprehensive breakfast and helpful staff.
The room was very warm and the duvets far too hot for the time of year. I had to take mine out of its cover in order to sleep. tea-making facilities in the room would have been nice. (And a swimming pool!)
The room was a decent size and really clean. The breakfast was delicious and it's quite practical to have the beautiful lake just outside. The staff were really friendly (loved that!).
The rooms are quite pricey and they charge extra if you'd like one with a lake view. Also, the parking was expensive; 7 EUR per day.
Breakfast and dinner were always excellent. Our room was very good, maybe not overly modern but not an issue... Nice to have a terrace outside (if weather permits ;-) ) Staff is very friendly, notwithstanding the corona limitations/requirements we felt they did everything they could to make it an enjoyable stay. And the views, beautiful walks and serene surroundings make it a wonderful place to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday!
Although we asked to clean every 2 days, they only came to ask when we would like the room cleaned in the afternoon of our 5th day, when we were leaving the next morning (but we realize it's not easy, in these corona times...)Surprisingly, in a country which prides itself on being 'green', very little options to power up your electric/hybrid car in the vicinity. Certainly given the evolution to more and more electric cars, a few loading stations at the hotel (maybe even free for guests) would be welcome and convince new guests as well :-)Wifi is good in itself, but very irregular -- sometimes you lose all connection with the internet (e.g. streaming a TV program from 'home' was not always as easy as you could hope for...
