Canberra Rex Hotel

The room and amenities were nice, staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was great. It also had a cute rooftop area and nice views of the mountains.

Having 1 key card and needing the key to get into the hotel lobby and upstairs in the elevator. It is a pain when you are tired and have bags to bring in on a bell hop.

The room was clean and had great amenities, the buffet breakfast was lovely. The staff were incredibly kind and receptive over the busy weekend.

The Rooftop Bar was close for private function both Friday and Saturday night so had to rearrange meeting friends elsewhere. Another guest commented they had chosen Rex for the rooftop bar but were disappointed as well.

I love this hotel and it is my first choice when I visit Canberra. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I particularly enjoyed a drink and dinner at the roof top bar. The location is very convenient. It's a short walk to Lonsdale Street in Braddon, not too much further into Civic and a good walk over the bridge to the other side of the lake.

Although there was a balcony, there was no balcony furniture which was disappointing.

The room we had was spacious with a sitting area. Very nice bathroom too.

We had a dinner in the 6th floor restaurant and the food was a bit disappointing, so we never ate there again. Also, we didn't seem to be able to open a window to allow some fresh air into the room.

Good sized room with comfortable king bed, large screen TV, free WiFi and a heated indoor pool and gym. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner although we preferred to eat out.

Had to go out the front door and round the side to get to the building with the pool. Onsite parking is challenging when getting back to the hotel at night after dinner, but always found on street parking a short walk away. Shower fluctuated with hot and slightly cool water, but was still comfortable.

Amazing value for money, very friendly staff, very clean room and toilet, they have an onsite parking as well.Beds were really comfy

Our shower in Room 101 leaked a bit so when had to use towels to mop up.

Location was easy stroll to Braddon cafes and on to the Civic Centre. Bed was very comfortable.Room was clean.

Bathroom had a lock but didn’t work. Nowhere for toiletries (except for a small soap dish that wasn't secure) in shower and limited space around sink.Absolutely not sound proof. Paper thin walls. Our room had a connecting door (not in use). We could hear every single sound from the adjacent room. Talking, coughing, tv, bathroom. This was at a normal level and kept us awake plus felt super uncomfortable having a conversation ourselves knowing it could all be heard. While there was quite a lot of off street parking it was in high demand so hard to get a spot. Wi-fi was terrible. Kept dropping out and stalling.Had to go outside to the pool which was lovely but couldn't handle more than two people in it at once.Had to ask for towels at reception - none near pool.No paper cups for water at gym.

When other doors were being opened and shut loudly, there was sort of a draft wind on your room's door

The room was clean and had a nice bed. The staff was very helpful.

Super comfortable bed and pillows, good room temperature, very quiet, slept very well. Location is great with tram right nearby and shops very accessible.

I like the location, the twin room is spacious and the free car park.

I didn't like the 2 single beds and the room felt a bit dated. The TV was also quite old and didn’t support HD or stream.

Great spot for a weekend break, we got a large room to put the cot next door. Lovely views from the rooftops too!

The staff were so professional, friendly, and helpful.

I didn't like that because of an issue beyond my control which caused me to not make it my first night to the accommodation I could not be compensated in any way. The staff were wonderful and tried to help me. I will book directly with the rex next time.
