Beautiful hotel in a great location.

Breakfast was nice but they kept running out of items, when we asked for replacements, they were quickly provided so it was not a problem, however it was a bit awkward to keep asking for something to be refilled.

I stayed Hotel Deutsches Haus aline. The location was very good. Hotel's inside and building was very good. Generally it was a good experience.

At night I heart a lot of noices from kitchen or somewhere like that and the breakfast was not super good.

Great location for the Christmas market. Right outside the door. Staff are nice, room very spacious and bathroom is comfortable. Great water pressure. Walk to many shops and restaurants.

Room outdated which is okay. Bathroom were few hair from previous guest. Bed not comfortable, aching hip after one night.

We returned with friends. Hotel used to be guest house of the Schloss, and has sweeping marble staircase with knight in armour- bring evening gown for photo! Location opposite Minster (historic 3 m "Menorah", free organ music on 2 organs some lunchtimes) and Burg with tapestries to rival Bayeaux. Walking distance to exceptional Museum (think small Louvre galleries, Rubens etc.). In house Italian restaurant, food good and convenient, service less so. Breakfast in ex ballroom.Braunschweig was obliterated in WW2, but all rebuilt. Market.

Parking outside hotel is not for exclusive use, so can be full, but later at night there are usually spaces. You just have to chance it - unloading can be done directly outside, and reception are very accommodating about this. Bar in restaurant was not available, and we felt the staff hurried us out at around 9.30 pm. This is nothing to do with the hotel, but you cannot really have a drink in the lobby though there is a sofa.

Location was good, breakfast was good

MY room was too hot - and no aircon.

    8LyssandrePosted on: 8-2-2024

Very good location and majestic building.

Having booked for 3 persons, through booking.com, we were nevertheless charged extra for the 3rd bed in the room. Communication between hotel and booking.com should be improved

Hotel was a magnificent old property with lots of historyRoom was enormous with great views of the local square.

Shower was inside an older bath - it took quite a climb to get in. The bathroom was enormous with ample room for a separate shower. There were no tea/coffee making facilities - this could be a cultural thing, perhaps these are not usually provided in German hotels

    Great location and beautiful building

    - The room I was in was quite dated and not very inviting. - The check in at the check in machine didn’t work. We were told that we were “lucky” that someone was still there or we would have had to call an emergency number.

    Location

My room smelled like it has been bleached few minutes before. Had to sleep with all the windows open.Breakfast was a joke.

Nice old building right in the old town, large rooms with high ceilings, good breakfast

    6HPosted on: 1-3-2024

The location is the best part of it. The staff are very friendly .

The washroom was too small and poor ventilation. There is not electric kettle or cafe maker in the room.

Great location, especially for the Christmas Market, lovely staff and a good breakfast

Outdated and needs a refurb. Bathroom was very cramped and shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold.

    7LeAnnPosted on: 12-5-2023

The location was perfect and we enjoyed the Christmas market which was right outside the door.

    The beds were VERY uncomfortable.

    10ClairePosted on: 12-5-2023

Lovely staff who really made us welcome despite our lack of German. They were happy to accomodate all our requests and went out of their way to help us.

No kettle or tea making facilities in the room. Staff at breakfast were not particularly welcoming

    8山下Posted on: 11-30-2023

The room was warm and clean. Hot running water was available. Great location.

Bed linen had a visible stain. Even though the information booklet in the room said slippers were available at the reception, I was initially told by one member of staff that the hotel didn't provide them. Another member of staff (more senior?) stepped in at that point and I did get hold of slippers eventually.
