Best Western Plus Hotel Stadtpalais

Our room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. It also had a certain charm to it with rafters separating part of the room. We had a separate sitting area as well. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The hotel is in a very good location, just across the street from the pedestrian shopping area and a short walk to the old town and palace.

If you arrive by train, you will need to walk about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. (But you could always take a taxi). The hotel is in a historical building so the layout is a bit odd, but I found it charming.

I loved the hotel. Someone spent a lot of effort to design the antique house according to the theme "City Palais" and did a wonderful job. Everything is tasteful, noble and elegant and shows an amazing love of detail. The hotel has that old fashioned charme of a bygone era but has all those modern amenities that a traveler wants. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with a huge bathroom and high ceilings. Despite being in the center of Braunschweig the room was really quiet. The breakfast was rich and diverse, something for everybody. Service was great and staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the location in the city center with all its shops and restaurants nearby.

Everything was perfect. There is only one small point I would like to mention: the light switches were a bit confusing in the beginning. Although they were all clearly marked I often switched on the wrong light or pressed the wrong side of the switch. But after a while it got better. It didn`t annoy me really.

Break should be complimentary.

My shower leaked all week into the bathroom, where I reported it on the first night but had to request double towels every night just to clean up the water. It made the bathroom very unsafe for night time too

Perfect location in centre of Braunschweig with easy safe parking

Great location, parking on site, fantastic breakfast and comfortable and clean rooms. Really in the city center and all you need is within minutes walking distance.

I did not book breakfast. Room in the ground floor had a window to parking lot with parking autos next to it, not nice! and from entrance was next to hall. The hotel was in city center which was good, but the breakfast was in another building, outside of the house. The lights keys were confusing, so much that they were written on them, what they do (on or off) and which light will be one when one uses them!

The location is very good, close to the city center. It was quiet in the rooms and we liked it. The staff were kind and friendly.

The air conditioning system did not work properly. The pillows were not comfortable.

Good location for accessing the city center.

The staff who checked us it was rude. He gave inaccurate directions to our room and then was irritable when I came back and asked for clarification. He himself got lost trying to follow his own directions. After some wandering around in the building he found his way and brusquely told us to go up another staircase. Overall, I expected better for the price we payed.

Nice and cosy hotel in the city center, calm and quiet neighbourhood. Everything was super clean. Breakfast was rich and tasty.

Unstable Wi-Fi. Limited parking space. Bed mattress was uncomfortable (firm edge frame and soft in the middle).

The Hotel was central and parking was free which was very convenient. The staff was helpful and the rooms were cleaned.

For a 4 star Hotel, recognized with duly plate in the front, we were expecting a bit more quality. Granted we had a standard room, but it was nothing special in comparison to the 3 star highway hotel we stayed at the night before while traveling to Braunschweig. Absolutely nothing distinguished the hotel in terms of quality, the facilities were in general old but not antique, more an attempt to show antiquity without the proper maintenance. In our room, the shower hose was half broke and the sheet in one of duvets was even ripped (in picture). The toiletries were pretty basic and provided through a gush out big hotel chain soap bottle. The light in the room was poor and the I internet was so slow we couldn't even make a single Google search... Honestly the hotel looked nice in terms of lobby decoration and it served it's purpose, but we wouldn't pay again over 100€, no breakfast, to sleep in a 4 star Hotel that much provides the same quality as cheaper 2/3 star one.

The hotel is small and has character. The bed was comfortable, some favours, which was great and lovely coffee.

It is booked too fast some times :-)
